“Monsanto” tells the true story of young upstart lawyer Brent Wisner (Powell), who took on the court case against the giant U.S. chemical company Monsanto on behalf of Dewayne “Lee” Johnson (Mackie). Glam metal veterans Dokken have announced their long-awaited 13th studio album, Heaven Comes Down, arriving October 27th. The video for the lead single “Fugitive” can be streamed now.
The track marks the first new music from Don Dokken and company in over 10 years — not counting 2020’s archival collection The Lost Songs: 1978-1981 — and it’s a valiant return. Jon Levin’s high-flying guitar work is reminiscent of Dokken’s ’80s heyday, and Don himself sounds strong and confident vocally, even if he’s an octave or two down from the falsettos he famously hit decades ago.

The 16th annual The Black List was announced this morning by Desus Nice and The Kid Mero, and below are the rankings of the year’s hot unproduced (or on the verge of being produced) screenplays. Leading this year’s list with 29 votes is Sophie Dawson’s Headhunter, which follows a high-functioning cannibal who selects his victims based on their Instagram popularity. Exclusive: Yorgos Lanthimos is set to write and direct Pop. 1280, an adaptation of the Jim Thompson crime novel for Imperative Entertainment. Element Pictures will produce with Imperative and Lanthimos, in association with Discovery Productions.
Project is high priority. Lanthimos’ The Favourite is up for 10 Oscars this weekend, including Best Picture, and it just won seven of the 12 Batfa Awards for which it was nominated.
