Los Angeles, July 6 (Ians) Singer CoCo Lee, who lent her vocal prowess in ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’ and 1998’s ‘Mulan’, died by suicide on Wednesday at the age of 48.

The singer’s sisters, Nancy and Carol Lee, confirmed the sad news with a joint Instagram post on Wednesday, revealing that she had died by suicide, reports pagesix.com.

“CoCo had been suffering from depression for a few years but her condition deteriorated drastically over the last few months,” the statement read.

“Although, CoCo sought professional help and did her best to fight depression, sadly that demon inside of her took the better of her.”

They further revealed that CoCo had attempted to take her life on Sunday and had slipped into a coma before dying on Wednesday.

Her death has been announced by her older sister Nancy Lee on Facebook on Wednesday.

Her sister explained that CoCo had attempted suicide and was brought to the hospital after being found in her home. She was put in a coma until she died on Wednesday.

Eva Maria Daniels
Eva Maria Daniels, the Icelandic producer who most recently executive-produced the Sydney Sweeney project “Reality,” has died. She was 43.

Daniels’ friend, filmmaker Börkur Sigthorsson, posted on Facebook that she “passed away last week in London after a long battle with cancer.” She was diagnosed with Stage 3 cancer in 2020 in the middle of the pandemic but by 2021 was opening up about her experience and noting that she was now cancer-free and happy to spend more time with her young child.

“Eva died on the same terms as she lived. She played her cards close to her chest. She didn’t seek recognition when she had success. She didn’t seek pity when she suffered. I will miss her friendship greatly, but mostly I will miss seeing what she would have done next,” Sigthorsson wrote on Facebook.

The entertainer’s sisters Nancy and Carol Lee announced the news on social media, revealing that after living for years with depression, Lee attempted suicide on Sunday, putting her into a coma until she ultimately succumbed three days later.

“With great sadness, we are here break the most devastating news: Coco had been suffering from depression for a few years, but her condition deteriorated drastically over the last few months,” they wrote. “Although Coco sought professional help and did her best to fight depression, sadly that demon inside of her took the better of her. Sad news has come in as it's been revealed that Coco Lee has passed away. A successful singer-songwriter who voiced the titular heroine in the Mandarin dub of Disney's animated movie Mulan, Lee ultimately lost her battle with depression on July 5. According to a Facebook post by her sister, Nancy Si Lin Lee, Lee was rushed to the hospital after a suicide attempt on July 2. While medical professionals spent the next three days trying to save her life, Lee was pronounced dead on Wednesday. She was 48 years old.
