- Nowadays, the idea of getting yourself 'a proper job' has gone out of the window. You can get what seems to be a very reliable job but the company might be bought out two weeks later and you're out on the street, so you may as well do a job you enjoy. A lot of people are caught up with the glamour aspect of the entertainment business but most of it is a grind. It's really about sitting in an old church hall, freezing your arse off in December, rehearsing for a play you don't want to do but have to do it for the money.
