The Napiers will appear in A Christmas Open House, which stars Katie Stevens as an Atlanta property stager who teams with her old high school crush (Victor Rasuk) to sell her mom’s home in their small Georgia home town. The Napiers plays a “unique” couple who make custom home projects that appeal to Stevens’ character.
HGTV’s sister Food Network has also completed production on two holiday movies that showcase their personalities, having entered the Christmas movie business last year with Candy Coated Christmas.

Love it or List It is returning for a new season on HGTV. The cable channel has renewed the reality series starring designer Hilary Farr and real estate expert David Visenti. The upcoming season will have 18 episodes which will be split into two parts.
In each episode, homeowners show the duo their existing home. Farr redesigns a portion of the home to fit the family's needs and budget while Visenti shows them alternative homes they could purchase. In the end, the family must decide whether to stay in their refreshed home or to put it up for sale and move to a new place.

Update: Eric Eremita, the popular contractor from Hgtv’s Love It Or List It and Brother vs Brother, is recovering from the coronavirus and detailing for the first time what he went through in his battle against the disease.
Eremita, age 51, was in a New York hospital for three weeks, two of them on a ventilator. He tells People magazine that he had no underlying conditions, but began to develop a high fever, then spiraled down into dizziness and lost focus.
“For me, I’m a guy who does things with precision,” Eremita said. “I’m a contractor, so for me, an eighth of an inch makes a difference. When I couldn’t zero in on things, I knew something was wrong.”

The Monday, Dec. 30 episode of Hilary Farr and David Visentin’s competition earned a 0.92 rating among adults 25-54, according to Nielsen. That number counts three days of delayed viewing and is 61% better than what the time period earned, on average, across the prior six weeks.
It also made last week’s episode the No. 2 show on all of television in that particular demo. The 9 p.m. hour did even better among women of that age range (a 1.25 rating) and drew 3.4 million total viewers.

Discovery said today that its cable nets TLC and Hgtv are teaming to revive the 2000s home-makeover series while you were out.
The premiere of the first series co-production under Discovery’s expanded lifestyle portfolio will be simulcast on both networks, with each brand lending its special flair to the series, Discovery said. Production begins this month for a 2019 premiere.
While You Were Out will feature TLC and Hgtv stars designing one room in neighboring homes
while each set of homeowners send their significant others on a weekend getaway to await the ultimate surprise reveal upon their return. The nets will air their own version of the same episode featuring the same homeowners, designers and carpenters.
“This is an exciting moment for the newly combined Discovery Lifestyle portfolio and for our passionate, female audiences,” said Howard Lee, President and Gm of TLC, and Allison Page, President and Gm of Hgtv and Food Network.

Though they’ve played a vital role in each other’s lives since the show began in 2008, when they first crossed paths, Visentin didn’t exactly leave a memorable impression.
“She actually says she doesn’t even remember me from the audition,” Visentin recalls.

"Love It or List It" returns Monday (Feb. 17) with all-new episodes as it kicks off its ninth season on Hgtv. For the premiere episode, designer Hilary Farr and real estate expert David Visentin are back with a large problem -- a family that has gotten way too big for its townhouse.
Leslie and Michael are Fillipino immigrants who bought a 1,300-square-foot townhouse, which was plenty of space for them and their young daughter. But Leslie's two sisters and brother-in-law have since moved in and they need more space. Leslie wants to stay in their home, while Michael is ready to have a home that affords more space (and more privacy).
