Shia Labeouf Shares Alleged Email Timothee Chalamet Sent Him, Addresses Feud Talk
Image
Shia Labeouf has shared an alleged email exchange he had with Timothee Chalamet back in 2023, amid rumors of a feud.

The 38-year-old actor made a comment about Timothee in an interview recently, which perhaps led to this latest update.

Keep reading to find out more…

In a May 8 THR interview, Shia was asked, “And last we talked, you’d found Catholicism and you’d lived in the monastery. How’s that going?”

He responded, “It changes the way you work, for sure. Me and Alec [Baldwin] would never have these problems now. But I was in an island. Then I hear Timothée Chalamet get up and he says something like, ‘I want to be great.’ I so know the feeling. On him, it’s cute. On me, it wasn’t cute. You know what I’m saying?”

On Twitter (aka X) this week, Shia seemingly responded.

He began his post with...

'28 Years Later' Is the Most Anticipated Film of 2025 on Letterboxd
Image
The movie cataloging and social media app Letterboxd has taken the world by storm in recent years, with the page becoming a good point of reference for what film enthusiasts are enjoying (or hating). The app can collect the data provided by its over 17 million users to give a good aggregate rating for a film on its Letterboxd homepage. Because of such valuable data, Letterboxd has now revealed the most anticipated movie of 2025 (per its users) on the app, and it's a surprising choice considering what's left to hit theaters this year. A post from the official Letterboxd account revealed that 28 Years Later, the long-awaited zombie sequel from director Danny Boyle and writer Alex Garland, is now the most anticipated film of 2025 on the app.

The original 28 Days Later came out in 2003, making it a 22-year wait for another installment from the original creatives, with distribution and rights issues...

Striking New ’28 Years Later’ Poster and Stills Ahead of June Release
Image
Sony Pictures has unveiled a new poster and a set of stills for 28 Years Later, the long-awaited third instalment in the 28 Days Later series. Directed by Danny Boyle and written by Alex Garland, the film sees the pair return to the franchise they launched over two decades ago, reigniting the rage virus saga with an entirely new cast of characters and a fresh post-apocalyptic setting.

Set for release in cinemas on 20 June 2025, the film stars Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Ralph Fiennes, with support from Jack O’Connell, Alfie Williams and newcomer Erin Kellyman. Cillian Murphy, who led the 2002 original, is not returning on screen but is attached as executive producer. The film was shot in the UK, primarily in the North East and Yorkshire regions, with production wrapping in July 2024.

28 Years Later picks up decades after the events of 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later. The rage virus, though long contained under quarantine,...

Image
Gladiator II’s Paul Mescal, A Complete Unknown’s Monica Barbaro, Black Panther’s Letitia Wright and Bridgerton’s Nicola Coughlan will be making their debuts at the National Theatre, regarded by many as Britain’s top cultural institution.

They’re among a host of star names invited to tread the Nt’s boards by Indhu Rubasingham, the organization’s new artistic director and co-chief executive.

The theatre chief also revealed that she and famed rapper and grime music genius Stormzy are developing a show that will be staged at the National at a later date.

Mescal, who by the way has been known to rap, will lead a repertory company at the National’s Lyttelton Theatre in 2027. There he will star in two plays: Tom Murphy’s A Whistle in the Dark, about a married Irishman living in the Midlands who allows his three brothers to lodge with him and his young wife.

'28 Years Later' Writer Alex Garland Reveals Original Plot for the Movie
Image
28 Years Later is one of the most anticipated movies of 2025, with a lot of credit going towards the phenomenal first trailer. Danny Boyle returns with his long-time screenwriter, Alex Garland, after 18 years away from the franchise (28 Weeks Later was released in 2007). Some details about 28 Years Later have already been revealed, including its leading cast — Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer, and Ralph Fiennes headline the threequel. Even after the first trailer, the plot of the upcoming movie largely remains a mystery. However, we guarantee you it will be nothing like Garland's original idea for the film.

During a recent interview with GQ to promote his upcoming movie Warfare, Alex Garland reflected on his career so far, whilst also looking ahead to 28 Years Later. During the conversation, the screenwriter and director revealed where the inspiration for 28 Years Later came from, as well as the wild idea he originally had for the film,...

’28 Years Later’ Trailer: Mankind is Doomed
Image
Don’t expect to learn more about the plot with the release of the new 28 Years Later trailer. There’s a lot going on visually, but it’s the trailer’s use of Rudyard Kipling’s “Boots” that elevates the horror onscreen.

The 28 Days Later sequel stars Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jack O’Connell, Alfie Williams, and Ralph Fiennes. The original low-budget zombie film opened in theaters on June 27, 2003. The sequel will be released on June 20, 2025.

“Academy Award-winning director Danny Boyle and Academy Award-nominated writer Alex Garland reunite for 28 Years Later, a terrifying new story set in the world created by 28 Days Later. It’s been almost three decades since the rage virus escaped a biological weapons laboratory, and now, still in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amidst the infected,” reads Sony Pictures’ synopsis. “One such group of survivors lives on a small...

Aaron Taylor-Johnson Breaks Quarantine in Terrifying New 28 Years Later Trailer: Watch
Image
A new trailer has been revealed for 28 Years Later, the long-awaited sequel to the zombie-horror films 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later.

With much more revealed now than the 2024 teaser offered, 28 Years Later will follow a group of survivors who inhabit a small island cut off from the mainland, where the Rage virus has taken hold for (you guessed it) 28 years. The trailer depicts Jamie (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and his song Spike (Alfie Williams) as they journey to the mainland and attempt to survive in a Zombie-filled terrain. Like its prior teaser, the trailer once again features a haunting reading of the 1903 poem “Boots” by Rudyard Kipling.

The film’s logline reads: “It’s been almost three decades since the rage virus escaped a biological weapons laboratory, and now, still in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amidst the infected. One such group of survivors lives on a...

Watch the trailer for the second (and final) season of The Sandman
Image
The Sandman is an epic comic book about Dream (Tom Sturridge), one of several eternal beings who together preside over different aspects of the human condition. The comic was written by Neil Gaiman, who has been accused of sexual assault. That scandal may have something to do with why Netflix is only producing one more season of the show, even though the comic runs for 10 volumes. Netflix just dropped a teaser trailer for the second and final season, which is coming out in July:

Specifically, the first six episodes will drop on July 3 while the final five will follow on July 24. The teaser trailer shows a scene from the fourth volume of the series, Season of Mists, where Dream and the rest of the Endless siblings meet for the first time in centuries. I imagine they'll cut and condense a lot of the story to reach a conclusion. There are...

Sony has released a new trailer for 28 Years Later, the next installment in the post-apocalyptic series from director Danny Boyle and writer Alex Garland. The film revisits a world decimated by the rage virus nearly three decades after it first spread, with a cast led by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer, Ralph Fiennes, Jack O’Connell, and Alfie Williams.

Taylor-Johnson plays a member of a small survivor community living on an island connected to the mainland by a single, fortified causeway. Isolated from the infected, the group maintains strict control of its territory. When his character crosses into the mainland, he finds that the virus has changed more than just the infected—it has altered the behavior and structure of human survivors as well.

“There are many kinds of death… and some are better than others,” says Fiennes’ character, Dr. Kelson, as scenes of the infected surging through cities and survivors...

‘28 Years Later’ New Trailer: “There Are Many Kinds Of Death… And Some Are Better Than Others”
Image
Here’s the latest trailer for Danny Boyle’s upcoming 28 Years Later. Previously shown to exhibition during Sony’s CinemaCon presentation earlier this month, the new look offers more insight into what’s in store for the next installment of the zombie thriller franchise. Check it out above.

Written by Alex Garland and starring Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jack O’Connell, Alfie Williams and Ralph Fiennes, the story picks up nearly three decades after the rage virus escaped a biological weapons laboratory in 28 Days Later. Now, still in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amidst the infected.

One such group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily-defended causeway. When one of the group (Taylor-Johnson) leaves the island on a mission into the dark heart of the mainland, he discovers secrets, wonders and horrors that have mutated not only...

In the meantime, we have a new teaser featuring flashes of terrifying imagery of rage-infected "zombies."

Though the movie's logo and that unsettling rendition of Rudyard Kipling's "Boots" pervade the trailer, there are a few new shots of the infected on the attack as Aaron Taylor-Johnson's protagonist looks understandably scared sh*tless.

Image
Another horrifying teaser for 28 Years Later has been released. The just over one-and-a-half-minute clip arrives ahead of the full trailer for the eagerly anticipated Danny Boyle-helmed sequel.

Terrifying scenes from the film appear in brief flashes, giving fans a taste of what to expect without giving away too much. The clip is set to the same 1915 Taylor Holmes recording of Rudyard Kipling's 1903 poem "Boots" that was used in the film's first trailer and another recent teaser.

‘28 Years Later’ New Trailer Shown Off At CinemaCon
Image
Sony showed off the second trailer for its highly anticipated horror sequel 28 Years Later at CinemaCon today — a tense few minutes that focus largely on Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s character, who leaves a pristine island to head to a zombie-infested mainland.

“Once you walk onto the mainland, there’s no rescues,” we hear as zombies are hunted and attack.

The first trailer had featured Taylor-Johnson’s paternal figure guarding the green fields of England with a bow and arrow, accompanied by the unsettling sound of a Taylor Holmes recording of Rudyard Kipling’s war poem “Boots.” That dropped back in December and is now the third most-watched horror trailer ever with 60.2 million views in its first 24 hours. That prompted Sony to re-release the original 2002 Danny Boyle-directed zombie movie, 28 Days Later on digital Dec. 18 for purchase and rental.

Sony won the revamped Boyle-directed franchise in an auction, reteaming with...

Finally, 'Lilo & Stitch' Might Be the Disney Live-Action Animated Film That Lives Up to the Original
Image
Snow White is the latest in what's proven to be a long line of Disney’s animated classics that have been adapted for live action. It's a trend that began over 30 years ago with Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book in 1994 (not a true remake – that would be 2016's The Jungle Book – but close enough). The film has already endured more than its share of criticism, largely unfair given it hasn't even been released yet, but that's beside the point. As I see it, whether Snow White is good or not is irrelevant.

Rupert Friend Wants a Berlin Do-Over
Image
Rupert Friend is heading into the Berlinale a little anxious.

The British actor, a veteran of the industry with major roles in Homeland, Pride & Prejudice and, most recently, Drew Hancock’s buzzy thriller Companion, was only a “whip of a thing” when Chéri premiered in competition at the 2009 Berlin Film Festival.

“I was 25 and it was probably my first big lead role,” the now-43-year-old tells The Hollywood Reporter. “From the first 20 seconds, you just felt the audience… lean back. The movie finished and it was the sound of one, slow clap. I just died.”

After this “bombing” of Stephen Frears’ Colette adaptation, Friend was a little wary of the spotlight. It impacted him for a long time after, he confesses, even though he landed the part of a key character in the wildly successful Showtime series Homeland shortly after.

It’s only right that Friend returns to Berlin with a vengeance: not one,...

Video: Tiger & Wild Boar Rescued From Well In Indian That Inspired ‘The Jungle Book’

A team from a nature reserve in India had the tricky task of separating two unlikely bath mates after a tiger and a wild boar fell into a well. Video of the unusual intervention was released by the Pench Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh. “In one of the most challenging rescue operations ever conducted, the dedicated team of Pench Tiger Reserve successfully rescued a tiger and a wild boar in a high-risk situation,” the reserve said. The footage shows the animals being rescued from the well and being released. Neither animal was injured. According to the reserve’s website, the area inspired Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book. 10 Most Soulless Disney Live-Action Remakes, Ranked
Image
In 1994, Disney released The Jungle Book, a live-action remake of their 1967 classic starring Jason Scott Lee. Though it was liked as a fun adventure movie, it was criticized for not following the original story by Rudyard Kipling and the fact that the animals couldn't speak. Fast-forward to today and live-action remakes are not only coming out quite frequently, but they're also turning in a massive profit for Disney. Four have even made over a billion dollars at the box office.

The Witch (2015)
Robert Eggers’ ‘Nosferatu’ (2024): Changes and Continuity in Vampiric Traditions
The Witch (2015)
With films like “The Witch” (2015) and “The Lighthouse” (2019), filmmaker Robert Eggers has already strengthened his reputation as a critically celebrated auteur. And in “Nosferatu” (2024), he replaces the expressionist wonder of “Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror” (1922) with the somber moodiness of his craft that shapes up the fictional town of 1830s Germany, called Wisburg, which is unaware of the oncoming of evil. In it resides realtor Thomas Hutter (Nicholas Hoult) and his newlywed wife, Ellen Hutter (Lily-Rose Depp). There’s also their friends Friedrich Harding (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), a rich merchant, and Anna Harding (Emma Corrin), who are happily married to each other with two daughters.

“Nosferatu” (2024) is dark and aggressively sensual but Eggers’ vision of the material is more of a treatise on power and evil. He makes the classic story of a real estate agent, Thomas Hutter, going up to the Pennsylvanian hills to secure a property deal with the...

"There's No Discharge In The War": Viral Star Wars Video Perfectly Captures The Horror Of The Clone Wars
Image
This stunning Star Wars edit of Star Wars: The Clone Wars confirms how brutal the Clone Wars era really was for the clones and the Jedi—in a way that even the show itself didn't fully capture. The Clone Wars is one of Star Wars' best TV shows, but it wasn't until Ahsoka depicted the reality of the war in live-action that the horrors of these battles were completely realized. Now, this Star Wars edit has taken that one step further, incorporating an audio that reflects how traumatizing these events were for the clones and the Jedi.

In the video, posted by thxt_space on TikTok, an audio of the poem "Boots," written by English author and poet Rudyard Kipling, plays as clips from The Clone Wars are spliced together. The poem was originally about the Second Boer War, but the internal dialogue of the soldier and the horrors the...

Quick Links What Is the Poem About in the '28 Years Later' Trailer? What Does the Poem Have to Do With '28 Years Later?'

The trailer for Danny Boyle’s highly anticipated film, 28 Years Later, just dropped on the internet, and it’s evoking all the spooky and terrifying vibes. Set to hit theaters in June 2025, the film reunites Boyle with writer Alex Garland, each of whom worked on the film’s predecessor, 28 Days Later, back in 2002. Their latest endeavor is set nearly 30 years after their initial film and stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ralph Fiennes, Jodie Comer, and Jack O'Connell, and welcomes back Cillian Murphy, although the extent of his role is still unknown. However, keen-eyed viewers believe he appears in the trailer in an alarming and ghastly skeletal form, but it’s unlikely that is the full scope of his role.

What Poem Is In 28 Years Later's Trailer & What It Reveals About The Movie's Story

Serving as the third installment in the 28 Days Later franchise and the first to pave the way for another set of films, 28 Years Later is one of the most anticipated movies of 2025. Its first trailer is finally out, giving a glimpse of how much the world has changed three decades after the Rage virus outbreak.

Bravo! The narration makes it even scarier!

The addition of Rudyard Kipling’s poem, “Boots” is Brilliant! https://allpoetry.com/poem/8445289-Boots-by-Rudyard-Kipling. First published in 1903, in his collection The Five Nations, “Boots” imagines the repetitive thoughts of a British Army infantryman marching by forced marches in South Africa during the Second Boer War (which had ended in 1902). “It has been said that if the first four words in each line are read at the rate of two words to the second, that gives the time to which the British foot soldier was accustomed to march.”

Cillian Murphy in 28 Days Later (2002)
Cillian Murphy seemingly pops up in trailer for 28 Years Later, and he looks terrifying
Cillian Murphy in 28 Days Later (2002)
The zombie film 28 Days Later came out way back in 2002, and fans have never been quite able to let it go. These aren't the slow, ambling zombies we're used to from stuff like The Walking Dead or Night of the Living Dead; the zombies in 28 Days Later were fast, angry and focused. We got a sequel movie called 28 Weeks Later in 2007, but it didn't involve the original creative team. Now, over two decades after the original, director Danny Boyle and screenwriter Alex Garland are back in the driver's seat for 28 Years Later, which picks up after the zombie apocalypse has properly devastated society, as zombie apocalypses tend to do.

Sony dropped the officially trailer for 28 Years Later earlier today, and it is properly scary, particularly when it's underscored by an unsettling reading of Rudyard Kipling’s 1903 poem “Boots.” We characters played by the likes of Aaron Taylor-Johnson,...

The 28 Years Later Trailer's Nastiest Rage Zombie Has Already Ignited A Bonkers Fan Theory
Image
22 years later, the second sequel in the "28 Days Later" franchise, "28 Years Later," is extremely effing nigh. Fans of the sprinting, bloodthirsty, Rage-virus-riddled human beings -- for the sake of clarity here, we'll begrudgingly call them zombies -- introduced to us by director Danny Boyle and screenwriter Alex Garland have been wildly speculating for months as to how this new sequel will link up to the first film, and now their theories have actual, tangible backing. The official "28 Years Later" trailer is here!

Sony isn't about to give away the game pre-release, but this eerily effective preview, scored to a Rudyard Kipling poem used in Navy Seal training, has already spawned one extraordinarily wild bit of conjecture. Before we dig in, though, let's do a quick recap of what we know for certain about "28 Years Later."

Judging from the trailer, Jodie Comer and Aaron Taylor-Johnson are starring...

Rudyard Kipling
Exceedingly good needle drops: why a 1915 Kipling poem is the cherry on top of the 28 Years Later trailer
Rudyard Kipling
Zombie movie action soundtracked by the unhinged vinyl screeches of Boots, Rudyard Kipling’s evocation of soldiers in battle? It’s a match made in horror movie heaven

If you’re honest with yourself, you probably weren’t all that excited about 28 Years Later when you first heard about it. After all, as entertaining as 2002’s 28 Days Later was, 2007’s 28 Weeks Later demonstrated all the signs of diminishing returns. It wasn’t as scary. It wasn’t as memorable. And it turns out that things just weren’t as interesting six months after a zombie outbreak as they were four weeks after. By rights, 28 Years Later should continue this trend. And, when it comes out, that might still prove to be the case. As of now, though, it’s just about the most exciting film of 2025. And this is entirely down to its trailer.

By now, you know...

That Creepy Poem In The 28 Years Later Trailer Has A Disturbing Real-Life History
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

The world got a rude awakening this morning by way of the brand new trailer for "28 Years Later," which somehow makes the Teletubbies even scarier than they already were. That's what you get when director Danny Boyle and writer Alex Garland reunite for a sequel to their pandemic movie nightmare "28 Days Later," which they created together over two decades ago. The pair are joined here by an incredible lineup of onscreen talent too, including Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Ralph Feinnes.

While the footage features plenty of folks on the run and trying to avoid getting nibbled or nicked by Rage infected locals (as you would expect), the most jarring thing about the "28 Years Later" trailer is the unsettling audio accompanying it. Rather than using the now iconic "28 Days Later" score by John Murphy to ramp up the stress levels,...

Danny Boyle Returns with “28 Years Later,” Reviving the Zombie Apocalypse Franchise
Danny Boyle
Danny Boyle is bringing back the legendary zombie apocalypse series with “28 Years Later,” which will be released on June 20, 2025. This new film reimagines the horrifying world introduced two decades ago, re-engaging audiences with the fury virus story.

The upcoming instalment picks up nearly three decades after the original pandemic. The world has changed dramatically, with humanity now dispersed in small, isolated settlements fighting for survival in a landscape permanently altered by viral catastrophe.

The trailer delivers a disturbing glimpse into this post-apocalyptic reality. It depicts a group of survivors on a small, heavily fortified island. The cast is led by actors Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Jodie Comer, who play characters who must traverse a dangerous world where survival is tenuous.

One of the more intriguing possibilities is the return of Cillian Murphy. His role in “28 Days Later” cemented his status as a star. Although details regarding his character have yet to be revealed,...

Watch Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer Get Terrorized in ’28 Years Later’ Trailer
Image
The zombies are still on the prowl in 28 Years Later, a long-awaited sequel to 2002’s 28 Days Later and 2007’s 28 Weeks Later. In the first trailer for the film, directed by Danny Boyle, a group of survivors come up against those rage virus-infected zombies, as well as some strange fellow humans.

The unsettling trailer is set to a Taylor Holmes recording of Rudyard Kipling’s war poem Boots, and it showcases Aaron Taylor-Johnson wielding a bow and arrow as he leaves his island settlement. Later, the clip appears to...

28 Years Later Trailer Reveals A Terrifying Vision Of Post-Apocalyptic Humanity
Image
22 years ago, Danny Boyle and Alex Garland helped to kickstart a zombie movie renaissance with "28 Days Later," a movie that isn't technically a zombie film but, rather, a pandemic film. And sadly, 22 years later, that subgenre is bloodily ripe for the exploitin'.

On June 20, 2025, "28 Years Later" will pick up 18 years (in our own timeline) after the rage virus bedlam of Juan Carlos Fresndillo's 2007 sequel "28 Weeks Later." Lest you think this is some small affair, know that 2024 Academy Award winner Cillian Murphy is reprising his role as the once comatose Jim for the film. He'll be joined by the immensely talented likes of Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer, Jack O'Connell, and Ralph Fiennes in the cast. As for the state of the world in "28 Years Later," per the premise the rage virus is once again spreading and, presumably, the aforementioned actors will be scrambling to keep from joining the ranks of the infected.

‘28 Years Later’ Trailer: Zombie That Looks Like Cillian Murphy Looms Over Jodie Comer In Gripping Teaser For Danny Boyle Sequel
Image
It may be 28 Years Later, but the long-gestating Danny Boyle and Alex Garland zombie apocalypse sequel looks worth the wait on the evidence of the first trailer.

Accompanied by the unsettling sound of a Taylor Holmes recording of Rudyard Kipling’s war poem “Boots,” the trailer features a post-apocalyptic world in which Aaron Taylor-Johnson walks the green fields of England wielding a bow and arrow.

Coming more than two decades after 28 Days Later, the new movie appears to feature Cillian Murphy’s Jim in zombie form, looming over Jodie Comer’s character, after apparently being infected with the “Rage Virus.”

The Oscar winner’s name is not included on the promotional posters, meaning Murphy is unlikely to be a major part of the sequel, though he does serve as an executive producer. Murphy did not feature in the 2007 sequel 28 Weeks Later.

“Time didn’t heal anything,” is the tagline for the Sony Pictures movie,...

Quick Links Disney Fell Out With Louis Prima After The Jungle Book Disney Created a New Character to Replace King Louie in House of Mouse Christopher Walken Voiced King Louie in Disneys Live-Action Jungle Book

Before Disney had a falling out with Robin Williams over the use of his celebrity in promoting Aladdin (1992), another star turned his back on the studio. Disney's The Jungle Book (1967) featured the raucous character of King Louie. An orangutan living in the jungle who wants desperately to know how humans create fire. He sings the iconic song "I Wan'na Be Like You" along with Baloo the Bear -- voiced by Phil Harris. Created for the Disney film, the character of King Louie was named after his voice actor, Louis Prima. From the 1920s through the 1960s, Prima was a popular Italian-American bandleader and musician known for genres like early R&b, rock 'n' roll, boogie-woogie,...

Margot Robbie & Alexander Skarsgards 8-Year-Old Adventure Movie Had Everything To Be A Hit But Flopped At The Box Office
Image
2016's The Legend of Tarzan was a critical and commercial failure, even though it had assembled many of the ingredients that could have made it an adventure classic. The movie, which starred Alexander Skarsgrd as Tarzan and Margot Robbie as Jane, was a retelling of the story of the iconic Edgar Rice Burroughs character. Tarzan is a multimedia icon, and his story was adapted to the screen as early as 1918 in the silent film Tarzan of the Apes, with more than four dozen adaptations to follow, including Disney's Oscar-winning 1999 animated movie Tarzan.

The 2016 title is the most recent Tarzan movie to hit the big screen, and its general reception may be one reason that the property has since gone dormant on the big screen for nearly a decade. In addition to most likely failing to turn a profit in theaters, it was excoriated by critics and met with apathy from general audiences.

The Most Iconic Jungle Book Characters, Ranked
Image
The Jungle Book is a Disney movie that came out in 1967, based on Rudyard Kipling's writings. The traditionally animated movie depicts a young boy named Mowgli living in the jungle after he was found as a baby by a black panther. He grows up alongside the animals of the jungle but has to leave because of the presence of a man-eating tiger who threatens to kill Mowgli.

The animation is a classic story that has stayed with Disney since its release before the Renaissance period. In 2016, a live-action version was made and directed by Jon Favreau. The plot line takes viewers away from the commonly written prince and princess narrative and puts them into a different world but exciting, surrounded by interesting and quirky characters that make the film a much-loved Disney staple.

My Tiger Family Review: A Lifelong Love Letter to the Jungle’s Queens
Image
Set amidst the stunning wilderness of northern India, My Tiger Family offers viewers a doorway into the magical realm of Ranthambore Nature Reserve. For over 50 years, filmmaker Valmik Thapar has observed the resident tiger population with steadfast dedication, establishing profound connections with these elusive queens of the forest. The documentary shares Thapar’s intimate journey, introducing us to several generations of strong-willed tigresses who call Ranthambore home.

Thapar’s initial encounter with the reserve’s tigers sparked a lifelong passion. As a young man visiting on a whim, he wandered the forest trails and glimpsed his first tiger—an experience he describes as profound self-reflection.

Rather than departing, he remained to immerse himself in understanding these majestic creatures. Over decades, Thapar acquired unprecedented insights by quietly observing tigers like Padmini raise their cubs. He witnessed the population rebound from grim lows yet also faced setbacks as poachers threatened the recovery.

The Best Quotes from 1967's The Jungle Book, Ranked
Image
1967's The Jungle Book was adapted from and loosely based on Rudyard Kipling's writings of the same name. The film was the final animation to be produced by Walt Disney before his death. The story follows a young boy named Mowgli, who lives with wolves in the Indian jungle. However, his life is in danger when the man-eating tiger, Shere Khan, searches for him. Mowgli's friends, Bagheera and Baloo, attempt to keep Mowgli safe before getting him to the man-village.

A live-action movie which depicted the same narrative came out in 2016, giving the well-known characters realistic imagery. The Jungle Book is a favorite Disney film for many because of the songs, unusual setting and intriguing characters. The dialogue keeps the story interesting, with plenty of quotes that linger in the minds of fans.

Frozen's Kristen Bell Names Her Pick For Who Should Play Live-Action Anna
Image
Frozen star Kristen Bell shares her top choice for a potential live-action Anna. Released in 2013, Frozen follows Bell's Anna as she partners with Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) and a talking snowman named Olaf (Josh Gad) to find her magical missing sister, Elsa (Idina Menzel), after Elsa accidentally uses her powers to trap the kingdom of Arendelle in a permanent winter. The animated film was a massive success, and a sequel was released in 2019, with Frozen 3 confirmed to be on the way.

In a recent interview with Elle, Bell is asked who she thinks should play Anna if a live-action Frozen remake were to happen. After considering the question for a moment, Bell chooses actor Joey King. Bell doesn't explain why she chooses King, but the younger actor is best known for movies like Bullet Train (2022), The Kissing Booth (2018), and most recently appeared in Uglies (2024).

Disney pauses The Graveyard Book adaptation amid Neil Gaiman allegations
Image
In recent years, Neil Gaiman has seen many of his beloved works become outstanding TV shows, from The Sandman and Dead Boy Detectives to Good Omens and American Gods. His name is ubiquitous in the fantasy space, but amid numerous sexual assault allegations, adaptations of his works are starting to be affected. Notably, Disney has paused its live-action adaptation of The Graveyard Book.

The Graveyard Book follows Nobody "Bod," a young boy who seeks refuge in a graveyard after his parents are murdered. He meets ghosts who become his new family and he grows up in the graveyard. The book shares a striking resemblance to Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book...except with ghosts instead of jungle animals.

Disney's adaptation of The Graveyard Book was announced in 2022. Marc Forster was on board to direct the movie, with David Magee penning the script. Neil Gaiman himself was never directly involved. When the project was announced,...

One of Disney's Best Films Got a Live-Action Remake 22 Years Before the One You Remember

Quick Links The Mummy Director, Stephen Sommers, Wrote and Directed 1994s The Jungle Book Disneys 2016 The Jungle Book More Closely Resembles 1967 Animated Film Jon Favreaus The Jungle Book Was a Sleeper Hit for Disney Disney's 1994 version of The Jungle Book has an almost entirely different plot from Rudyard Kipling's book on which it is based. Jon Favreau's 2016 version of The Jungle Book is one of Disney's highest-grossing live-action remakes. 2016's The Jungle Book changes the ending of the 1967 animated film.

Two years later, Disney would release another live-action version of one of its 1960s animated movies: 101 Dalmatians. Dead Boy Detectives fans suspect cryptic post teases season 2 fate
Image
As of this writing on Aug. 23, it's been 120 days since Dead Boy Detectives made its premiere on Netflix on April 25. Since then, a loyal fandom has amassed online to show support for the show and, naturally, band together to hope for a season 2 renewal.

Within those 120 days, Netflix has not indicated whether the show has been renewed or canceled, and for the sake of the show's adoring fans, I hope this sentence ages like milk. However, as it stands, a new Instagram post from series star George Rexstrew has the fandom wondering if a renewal announcement could be coming soon.

On Aug. 23, Rexstrew posted a clip from the series with the caption, "As long as the red Earth rolls..." Devoted viewers instantly recognized that the caption comes from the Rudyard Kipling poem titled "The Sack of the Gods" that's recited by Death in the first episode of Dead Boy Detectives.
