In the August 1969 issue of Playboy Magazine Paula Kelly was the first person to show actual pubic hair in the magazine's history.
She was awarded the 1972 NAACP Image Award for Best Actress for the play, "Don't Bother Me, I Can't Cope" at the Mark Taper Forum Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
Played a character named Propensity in the original pilot for
Time of Your Life (1988). The network was unhappy with the
show, so re-shoots were ordered on the pilot, and Kelly's character was
eliminated.
She was awarded the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for Distinguished Performance for the musical, "Don't Bother Me, I Can't Cope," at the Mark Taper Forum Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
Upon her death, she was cremated and her ashes given to her daughter.
