    Trained at the Schauspielschule Hannover, Kappelsberger began in radio with the Bayerischen Rundfunk in 1946. She acted in Munich cabaret for two years (1946-48), afterwards appearing in several Heimatfilms and on television. A Bavarian national treasure, she was one of Germany's best known and most popular television announcers and moderators.
