Nicole Josy
- She entered the Eurovision Song Contest with Hugo Sigal in 1971 and 1973. But in 1971 they couldn't go because Nicole was ill.
- In 1970, she met Hugo Sigal. They fell in love, and also became professional partners. They formed a singing duo that scored their first big hit in 1971 with the song "Goeiemorgen, morgen'. Since then, they formed a well-known showbiz couple for decades. They continued to perform inseparably all these years, but in 2015 they said their final farewell to the stage.
- Solo Nicole Josy released over 20 songs.
- In the 1974 World Popular Song Festival in Tokyo, Japan, their fortunes improved. They came second with the song "With the Summer" Met de zomer mee). Nicole & Hugo performed their song there in a mixture of Dutch, English and Japanese. They also received the Outstanding Composition Award at the same festival.
- Starting in 1983, they also entertained audiences for years on cruises around the world. "We have seen the world for 25 years. We have seen practically everything that is on the water. In that time we had a very nice life", Nicol once said.
- She previously battled cancer and she suffered from Alzheimer's disease.
- She initially had a penchant for singing in French. She participated in national and international festivals and toured with Johnny Hallyday and Adamo.
- In 1968, together with Ann Christy and others, she won the European Cup for Vocal Performance in Knokke. That same year, she fell just short of the RTBF selection for the Eurovision Song Contest.
- Nicole Van Palm seemed born for the stage. When she was barely 3 and a half years old, she was already dancing on the stage of the Folies Bergère, the largest musical theater in Brussels. At fourteen, she chose the stage name Nicole Josy.
- In 2005, she and her husband Hugo appeared on Congratulations: 50 Years of the Eurovision Song Contest, the 50th anniversary show of the Eurovision Song Contest. They appeared in all of the compilation videos and finally appeared on stage in the 1973 costumes. They then sang a shortened version of "Baby, Baby".
- With her fiancé Hugo, Nicole Josy took part in 1971 in "Canzonissima", the then Flemish preselections for the Eurovision Song Contest. With "Goeiemorgen morgen" they won the preselections. Just before their departure, Nicole Josy gets jaundice and the duo can therefore not go to the Eurovision Song Contest to represent our country. Despite the setback, the song has become a true classic in Flanders and will be given a place in Radio 2's Gallery of Honor in 2012.
