Ah the early 2000s. The Xbox, PlayStation 2 and Nintendo GameCube were the hottest videogame consoles around. Limp Bizkit, Smash Mouth, Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson, and Usher were ruling the airwaves and little did we know we would be blessed with tons of horror video game movie adaptations as well. Granted, some weren’t that great, looking at you House of the Dead, Doom and Alone in the Dark. But there also were some fun films from this genre…Silent Hill and Resident Evil. At the time, both weren’t exactly loved by critics, but they did have their fans and have each spawned sequels. Today, we’re looking at the first Resident Evil (watch it Here) on this episode of Horror Revisited.
Let’s start back in January 1997. Resident Evil had already released on the Playstation One to critical fame as well as being adored by gamers. A German Production...

Karen David has played Grace Mukherjee since Fear the Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 2.
Unfortunately, her time on the show came to a tragic conclusion during Fear the Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 5 as Grace succumbed to a walker bite.
Despite a high-stakes battle to save Grace's life ensued, it just wasn't meant to be.
I had the absolute pleasure of chatting with Karen about Grace's journey, how things ended, and what project she moved on to following her final days of filming the zombie drama.
TV Fanatic: It's so nice chatting with you again, Karen. I'm sad about Grace's fate on Fear the Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 5. She's such a great character.
Karen David: I haven't watched the episode yet. It's a lot to take in. I want to do it with the fans on Sunday because I feel I won't be alone.
I'm just going to be surrounded by so much love,...

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have always been a staple of late '80s to '90s geek culture. Four turtle brothers are exposed to mutagen and then raised by a Ninja rat to fight crime and eat pizza in only the most radical of ways. It's so easy to forget that at one point they were once five with a girl turtle, who would go down as one of the most controversial characters in Tmnt history.
In The Beginning...
Venus de Milo was introduced in Fall of 1997 in the first episode of the live action NInja Turtles: The Next Mutation. Besides the fact that she was the only female Tmnt, she stuck out as being the only one named after not a famous painter, but rather a work of art. She donned an aqua colored bandanna that extended down the length of her back to somewhat resemble a ponytail,...

For all the people crying onscreen in "Angels Crest," I never once felt the urge to cry myself. The problem, I think, is not with what's in the film but what's not in the film, and that's specificity: specificity of character and location. Watching this movie feels like watching some very talented actors putting on an acting workshop, "Advanced Grief in Small Town America." On a technical level, their work is superb. But it doesn't resonate on any deeper level.
Based on a novel by Leslie Schwartz, the film is an intense dirge about the residents of a town trying to get on with their lives after a terrible tragedy. Ethan (Thomas Dekker) drives his son Nate out to the mountains to play in the snow, but by the time they get there, Nate's fallen asleep. When a herd of deer passes by, Ethan follows, and leaves Nate locked in...

Films filled with tragedy are often in high supply at festivals like Tribeca. These noble independent efforts dealing with grief, mourning, and the repercussions of bad decisions don’t have wide audience prospects nor distributors pining to acquire them. The latest in this category, Angels Crest, comes from director Gaby Dellal, tackling a novel by Leslie Schwartz and adapted by Catherine Trieschmann.
In an earnest opening, a young father Ethan (Thomas Dekker) goes on a trip with his three-year-old son Nate. Although he clearly loves his son, in a moment of negligence, he leaves the boy in his car to explore the woods. After returning from this short trip, he finds his truck empty and a long search by the townspeople results in no luck. The next morning, Ethan uncovers the frozen, dead body of his son and rest of the film follows the path of guilt and blame that...

Review: It’s been a while since a breezy, British action comedy has arrived on U.S. shores; their heyday being in the ‘80s when such titles like “A Fish Called Wanda” and “Time Bandits” held their place on the marquee.
When it comes to mobsters, guns and laughs, British director Jonathan Lynn knows a thing or two about crafting a crowd pleasing caper. Lynn is so good at it, Hollywood tapped him for his stylings with “The Whole Nine Yards,” “Sgt.
