NBC’s The Voice brought Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani together after Shelton’s divorce from country superstar Miranda Lambert and Stefani’s divorce from rocker Gavin Rossdale. While Stefani and Shelton seemed like an unlikely duo, they have tons of fun together, especially around the holidays. Given what Lambert said in the past about having Christmas with Shelton, it seems like she and Stefani have similar traditions.

The second part of the season two finale of Community airs tonight. While the students at Greendale Community College battle it out in the ultimate paint ball challenge, we take a look at the best TV fights in history.
Community Paint Ball Battle
The finale is an amped up version of last season's closer with a not-so-friendly game of paintball. The end of the year western themed picnic turns into all out war in the fight against Pistol Patty's Storm Troopers for the $100,000 cash prize.
Modern Family Mud Slinging
In Modern Family's season one finale Claire finally gathered the entire Pritchett clan for the perfect family portrait. But her hopes were dashed as the photo session broke out into a raging mud slinging war.

As The Voice heads into the battle rounds, frontrunners are beginning to emerge. One such leader appears to be Javier Colon. In the blind audition round the soulful father of two got all four judges to turn their big red chairs around just because of the sound of his singing. Ultimately he chose Adam Levine of Maroon Five to be his coach. In a recent conference call interview, Javier explained why he chose Adam, why he almost gave up on music and raising his game.
On Why He Chose Adam as His Coach
"I would have been absolutely ecstatic to have just one person turn around and then stay in the competition. But the fact that all four turned around, it was awesome. I was very flattered. And the reason that I picked Adam was because going into it, being the way the competition is set up,...

The Community study group decides to enter the world of Dungeons and Dragons on the February 3 new episode of the show, and Abed takes the lead for the journey. Charley Koontz will be making a guest appearance on this episode when Jeff becomes concerned about his character being a loner.
To help him with this, Abed proposes inviting him to play a game of Dungeons and Dragons. Unfortunately, the group doesn't invite Pierce to play and when he finds out about the game, he decides to butt in and try to take over.
NBC has released several promo photos for the upcoming February 3 episode of Community. Check them out below.

NBC's Minute to Win It is half way through its holiday themed episodes and, so far, no one has won the $3 million jackpot. We spoke with the show's host, Guy Fieri, and from the sounds of it, if he were playing the challenges instead of introducing them he would not be a big winner either.
In our recent video interview, we asked him if he tries out the challenges and if he's any good. "I'm really horrible at anything that has to do with the ping pong ball... Certain games beat me up... but I really do have an appreciation for what kind of gamers these guys are."
Sounds like Guy is better off as the host instead of a player. So has he dreamed of being a game show host since he was a kid? He told us he loved game shows as growing...

Community creator Dan Harmon knows that "Modern Warfare," Season 1's action-movie-spoofing paintball episode set a new standard for the show, and he's not daunted by trying to top it.
"The camera doesn't necessarily have to stay on campus this season," Harmon tells TVGuide.com. And in Thursday's episode (8/7c on NBC), it won't, as Greendale's study group goes to outer space — sort of.

Facing stiff competition from a rival community college that is about to launch a simulated space program, Dean Pelton (Jim Rash) forces the study group to pre-emptively stage Greendale's own space simulation. Abed (Danny Pudi) and Troy (Donald Glover) take the lead in a satire of Apollo 13 and other space movies when the simulator is towed away with everyone but Abed locked inside...

Embedded above is a brief segment from the 1999 British TV show Dope Sheet on Mary Ellen Bute, the experimental animation pioneer who produced over a dozen abstract animated films between the 1930s and ’50s. While her contribution to experimental film has largely been overlooked except by hardcore animation buffs, there’s been a slow resurgence in interest in her work.
Her name crossed my path in a significant way this past week or so while I was building the beginning stages of my underground film timeline. The timeline currently credits her with just 11 films, 10 of which are abstract animations and one, The Boy Who Saw Through, is a live action short film that, according to the above documentary, stars an extremely young Christopher Walken. The documentary also credits Bute for having made 15 animated films between 1935 and 1956.
However, there’s some dispute between the information I currently have. For example, the timeline says her first film,...

"Sometimes it's really fun to root for the bad guy," Madsen tells TVGuide.com of her new ABC dramedy, Scoundrels (premiering Sunday at 9/8c).
Summer TV: Check out 23 other must-watch new shows
Madsen plays Cheryl West, the matriarch of a family of criminals. When her husband Wolf (David James Elliott) is sent to prison, Cheryl decides she and her four children — ditzy aspiring model Heather (Levin Rambin), young and smart Hope (Vanessa Marano), and twin boys (both played by Patrick Fleuger), one of which is a dim slacker while the other's a sharp lawyer — are going to go straight. Of course, things don't exactly work out that way...

Things are looking good for the links program. Really a nice mix this week, too:
This week’s must read article is j. j. murphy’s awesome think piece Indie Film in the Cross Fire, in which he smacks down the slowly creeping idea that filmmakers had better adjust the conception of their films in order to be more “market friendly” in order to survive. And, yes, I’ve written several pieces on Bad Lit about filmmakers doing better online marketing — but Don’T Put Your Marketing Before Your Films! Devour murphy’s piece, then click through to the “Straight Talk” article he links to. In that vein, No-Fi filmmaker Bob Moricz explains exactly why he makes No-Fi films. I’d also really like to thank Jacob W. for picking up and extending the conversation around the Anthology Film Archive’s Essential Cinema collection that was curated in the ’70s.
