Bravo’s Real Housewives franchise is getting an injection of Hollywood executive power.
The cable network said Wednesday that Bozoma Saint John, the former chief marketing officer at Netflix and Endeavor, is joining The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for its 14th season. Bravo made the announcement in social media posts.
Saint John will join returning castmembers Garcelle Beauvais, Erika Jayne, Dorit Kemsley, Kyle Richards and Sutton Stracke in the season. Bravo also says Kathy Hilton and Jennifer Tilly will appear as “friends” of the core cast.
Saint John was the chief marketing officer at Netflix from 2020-22 and held the same post at Endeavor prior to that. Her career also includes stints at Uber, Apple — which she joined when it bought Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine’s Beats Music — and Pepsi. Her memoir The Urgent Life: My Story of Love, Loss and Survival was published last year.

The spotlight is on hip-hop mogul Sean “P. Diddy” Combs following the Homeland Security raid on his two properties. Two of his sons, Christian “King” Combs and Justin Combs, were detained during the raid. But this isn’t the first time Diddy followers have seen his sons’ names in the press. Christian once explained a strange party experience he had involving Paris Hilton. Here’s what he said.
Sean ‘P. Diddy’ Combs’ son, Christian ‘King’ Combs, had a ‘lit’ party experience with Paris Hilton
Sean “P. Diddy” Combs’ son, Christian “King” Combs, is 26 years old in 2024, and he’s likely seen a few wild parties thrown by his dad. The hip-hop mogul knows how to throw a huge bash involving big names in the music world. Of course, Paris Hilton has attended multiple parties thrown by Diddy.
Christian was once interviewed and asked about his “strangest” interaction at a party.

Hardy’s mama ain’t home, which means it’s time to party. The country musician served up “Gin and Juice” with a twist on his newly-released cover of the Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre classic. The cover fuses country-rock with California rap as Hardy lays out the itinerary for his night with the boys: roll down the street smoking indo, shoot some deer with the bullets filling up his pockets, and throw back some G&Js.

The story everyone knows about the rise of the Mp3 and the end of the CD gold rush is a good one. It’s got Metallica and Dr. Dre, Sean Parker and the RIAA, Napster, Kazaa, Limewire, and the record industry’s flabbergasting decision to sue its own fans. But the real story, or arguably the most nuanced and fascinating one, lies elsewhere with a bunch of young computer wizzes scattered across the country and a handful of crafty, underpaid factory workers in Shelby, North Carolina.

Dr. Dre suffered three strokes in 2021 after his brain aneurysm, the rapper and producer said on Friday during an interview with James Corden on Corden’s This Life of Mine show on SiriusXM.
“It definitely makes you appreciate being alive, that’s for sure. It’s something you can’t control, it just happens. During those two weeks, I had three strokes,” Dre told Corden. He also recalled the aneurysm first starting, describing “the worst pain I ever felt” when he woke up, heard a loud pop and felt something behind his right ear.

Los Angeles’ Frieze week got off to a hot start in a fairly chill environment: a roller rink.
“I’m so glad Jimmy finally found a place to entertain in!” cracked James Corden, regarding the estate of super-producer/entrepreneur Jimmy Iovine. The former Late Late Show host played emcee to a crowd that included a rare fusion of music and art royalty: Ed Ruscha, Brian Grazer, Katie Couric, Joel Madden, Benny Blanco, Bob Geldof and sports agent Rich Paul, aka Adele’s partner.
All convened at the sprawling Bel Air manse of Iovine for an art auction, co-hosted by Dr. Dre, to raise funds for a revolutionary education program. In 2013, Iovine and Dre (born Andre Young) opened the USC Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy, a novel university program fusing art, tech and business. In 2022, the duo went a step further, opening their own magnet high school in Leimert Park: the Iovine and Young Center.

The digital media landscape is shifting further, with BuzzFeed selling its Complex division to the livestream shopping platform Ntwrk in a $108.6 million all-cash deal (plus an additional $5.7 million tied to office space and severance costs).
The deal marks a retreat for BuzzFeed, which acquired Complex Networks in 2021 for just under $300 million, including $198 million in cash and $96 million in stock. BuzzFeed will retain First We Feast, the Complex food content brand that produces the hit YouTube series Hot Ones, and it says that BuzzFeed, First We Feast, HuffPost and Tasty will operate independently of each other, with their own strategies and revenue lines.
The sale will bring Ntwrk and Complex together in a new company, with Main Street Advisors, Jimmy Iovine, Universal Music Group, and Goldman Sachs among its investors. The company also inked a strategic partnership with Umg, which will “collaborate with the new company to deliver industry-leading and culture-moving experiences and exclusive collaborations,...

Jamie Foxx, Axl Rose, Cuba Gooding Jr. Sued in Wave of Sexual Assault Lawsuits Ahead of Key Deadline
A series of high-profile figures in Hollywood are being sued ahead of a deadline to file lawsuits under a New York law that suspended time constraints on claims involving allegations of sexual misconduct for one year.
At the top of the list of defendants who are expected to be sued or were named in complaints filed Wednesday and Thursday in New York’s state Supreme Court: Sean “Diddy” Combs, Axl Rose, Cuba Gooding Jr., Jamie Foxx and Jimmy Iovine. On Tuesday, Bill Cosby was also sued in another suit from a woman claiming the actor drugged and sexually assaulted her in the 1980s.
Plaintiffs, who typically would’ve been constrained from suing under the statute of limitations, have been taking advantage of New York’s Adult Survivors Act, which revived the window to bring sexual misconduct claims for one year. Jimmy Iovine, the co-founder of Interscope Records and Beats by Dr. Dre, is sharing his thoughts on the music industry today and how he now feels “fame has replaced great.”
During an interview with Consequence of Sound, published online Monday, the storied music executive and business mogul was asked about his thoughts on the use of artificial intelligence in songwriting and music production. AI has recently been at the center of debate across several industries, including entertainment.
“I’m not saying it’s good or bad, but I think AI is going to be massive in songwriting on many levels,” he said in response. “One, on a very basic level, if somebody is stuck and you want to experiment and get an idea. Two, is that not everyone, but too many people today are making records for TikTok.”
He continued, “They used to make records for radio, but now it’s TikTok.

It looked like a typical U2 outdoor concert: Two helicopters zoomed through the starlit sky before producing spotlights over a Las Vegas desert and frontman Bono, who kneeled to the ground while singing the band’s 2004 hit “Vertigo”.
This scene may seem customary, but the visuals were created by floor-to-ceiling graphics inside the immersive Sphere. It was one of the several impressive moments during U2’s “Uv Achtung Baby” residency launch show at the high-tech, globe-shaped venue, which opened for the first time Friday night.
The legendary rock band, which has won 22 Grammys, performed for two hours inside the massive, state-of-the-art spherical venue with crystal-clear audio. Throughout the night, there were a plethora of attractive visuals — including kaleidoscope images, a burning flag and Las Vegas’ skyline, taking the more than 18,000 attendees on U2’s epic musical journey.

U2 kicked off their “U2:uv Achtung Baby” residency at Las Vegas’ Msg Sphere on Friday night. The sphere, which cost $2.3 billion to construct, features a wraparound interior LED screen, 170,000 ultra-directional speakers that utilize beamforming technology to deliver targeted audio to every seat in the venue, and a haptic flooring system, among many other high-tech features.
Bono and co. made full use of these features as they ran through a 22-song set that included material from their 1991 studio album, Achtung Baby, as well as their new song “Atomic City” and classics like “Vertigo,” “Where the Streets Have No Name,” With or Without You,” and “Beautiful Day.”
Oftentimes, the 35-story building’s floor-to-ceiling screens would project Es Devlin and Brian Eno-inspired artwork, while fans were treated to a crystal clear street view of Sin City during their new Vegas-inspired song. At one point, moving visuals came down from the ceiling to suspend over the audience,...

In 1983, Stevie Nicks felt a bolt of inspiration while listening to a Prince song. She felt so strongly that she wanted to write her own version of “Little Red Corvette” that she dedicated the start of her honeymoon to it. When she recorded it, Prince came to the studio and made some additions. When he left after about an hour, he had secured half the royalties to the song.

On Stevie Nicks’ debut solo album, Bella Donna, she turned a Tom Petty song into a hit duet. Nicks’ version of the song sounded little like Petty’s, and he felt a bit betrayed when he heard it. Several years later, though, he had a chance to get back at her. When Nicks struggled to record a song, Petty stepped in and took it. She was disappointed, but she understood.

When Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ manager first met her at a Chinese restaurant in Bombay in 2007, they bonded over their mutual love of hip-hop & R&b. “I remember her dancing and singing every lyric of TLC’s ‘No Scrubs’ and me being like, ‘Oh my God, this girl’s really cool,'” Anjula Acharia recalls. “I said something like that to her and she told me, ‘I was raised in Queens, baby.'”
In reality, Chopra Jonas was born in Jamshedpur, Bihar, and raised in several cities throughout India, as her parents were physicians in the Indian Army. But her love of music was global, much like her stardom would later be. Afeni and Tupac Shakur are making history once again. FX has reported that its five-part docuseries about the mother and son, “Dear Mama,” scored the most-watched premiere episode for an unscripted series in FX’s history. The series premiered on the network before becoming available to stream on Hulu. Those combined numbers account for the record-breaking performance.
“It’s only fitting that Allen Hughes definitive piece on Tupac and Afeni Shakur delivered a record performance for us and it speaks to Tupac’s enduring legacy,” Nick Grad, president of FX Entertainment, said in a statement. “Allen’s examination of Tupac viewed through the prism of his mother Afeni is a fascinating take that really gets beneath the education and experience that shaped his life and inspired him to become one of the greatest artists ever.

Director Allen Hughes has evolved into a deft and imaginative documentarian, just the latest pleasant surprise in a long, eclectic career. His best-known films are the scripted fare he co-directed with his twin brother Albert, including “Menace II Society” and “Dead Presidents,” which dove deep into the lives of young, disaffected Black men. The brothers dabbled in documentary with 1999’s “American Pimp,” another film about Black men thriving in a brutal subculture, but the film’s insights were mostly washed out by its prurience.
Since then, the Hugheses have pursued solo projects, but Allen found new traction with “The Defiant Ones,” the HBO docuseries chronicling the durable and fruitful partnership between Dr. Dre and Interscope Records founder Jimmy Iovine. The brilliance of that show, which earned a Grammy and five Emmy nods, was in its format and structure. Hughes plots the key points of their professional and personal journeys, from...

Snoop Dogg’s story is one step closer to the big screen as director Allen Hughes confirmed the Universal biopic about the rapper is set to begin production imminently.
“That’s next. We’re starting this summer. I’m so excited,” Hughes told Variety on Tuesday night at the premiere of his upcoming FX docuseries “Dear Mama,” which chronicles the lives of Tupac Shakur and his mother, Afeni Shakur.
Hughes — an Emmy and Peabody award nominee whose filmography includes “Menace II Society,” “Dead Presidents,” “The Book of Eli” and “The Defiant Ones” — will direct the yet-to-be-titled Snoop Dogg biopic. Announced in November, the Universal movie is the first film produced by Death Row Pictures, following Snoop’s acquisition of Death Row Records in 2022.
“He surprised me with that biopic,” Hughes said of signing on to the film, which is billed as the “definitive” take on Snoop’s life and career.

It's Tupac and Afeni Shakur like you've never seen them before. FX released the trailer for its new five-part docuseries "Dear Mama: The Saga of Afeni & Tupac Shakur" on March 22, and it's an emotional and reflective look at the bond between Tupac, the legendary rapper who died at just 25 years old in 1996, and his mother, Afeni. As Tupac notes in an archival interview in the trailer, his mother was a Black Panther and political activist who instilled her values of freedom, power, and revolution into her son, whom she gave birth to in 1971 when she was 24.
Tupac notes in the interview, which he gave when he was 17, that he and his mom had a complicated relationship. While he cherished many of the lessons she taught him, she was also often unavailable because of her life in activism. And as Tupac detailed in his song "Dear Mama,...
