Alan Iezman was born in California and raised in the Los Angeles area.
He received his B.A. in Communications/Film from California State
University at Fullerton. His first job in the industry was working as a
p.a. for iconic director Robert Altman, on 'California Split' starring Elliot
Gould and George Segal. After working as a 2nd asst. director on
another feature entitled 'The First Nudie Musical', starring
Cindy Williams, Iezman opted to pursue the agency business and was
hired into the mail room at The William Morris Agency.
Becoming an agent in the TV talent dept two years later, he was upped
to dept head after signing and/or handling the careers of Tom Hanks,
Robin Williams, Michelle Pfeiffer, Michael Keaton, Howie Mandel, Lori Loughlin, Benjamin Bratt, and
many others.
Iezman jumped to the motion picture talent department shortly thereafter, and became head of that dept as well. He left the agency business in February, 1993, opting to start his own business in the form of the production/management partnership, Grossbart/Barnett/Iezman Entertainment. In 1995, Iezman left to start 'Shelter Entertainment Group', a management/production company which represents actors, actresses, some directors and writers, and is active in the development of television and motion pictures. He is owner and President. Iezman is or has represented among others, Penny Marshall, John Stamos, Matt LeBlanc, Jack Wagner, Joanna Cassidy, George Hamilton, Julia Duffy, Gail O'Grady, George Eads and many more.
