Ahead of the film’s world premiere at Fantasia this summer, the next film from The Adams Family has received a release date this week.
Shudder will premiere Hell Hole on August 23, Rue Morgue first reported.
Fantasia previews, “A road trip through Canadian oil fields conjured up fantasies of secrets deep in the dirt for the Adams family, and inspired them to create Hell Hole, an indie rock-n-roll monster movie set at a far-away fracking site.
“Known for their DIY ethos, John and Lulu Adams and Toby Poser, partnering with Shudder, have joined the team behind The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs and FX legend Todd Masters to shoot their latest in Serbia with a local cast and crew.
“Absurd, mutinous, and transgressively comical, Hell Hole is old-school sci-fi horror, yet in typical family fashion, they subvert the genre with textures of biological and environmental horror in tandem with...

General Hospital (Gh) spoilers and rumors tease the Pikeman investigation could result in a jaw-dropping revelation; could Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) still be alive?
Even though the storyline seems to suggest Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) is the new head of Pikeman, could he be under his presumed-dead father’s thumb once again?
General Hospital Spoilers – Could An Old Thought Dead Villain Resurface?
Could an old villain be on their way back to Port Charles-recently, a lot of focus has shifted to finally unmasking the head of Pikeman and stopping him for good.
Although Brennan (Charles Mesure) was arrested for being the suspected leader there has been much speculation that neither one is actually the big boss in charge.
Considering the possibility that the speculations might hold some truth, we couldn’t help but ponder if the creative writers are setting the stage for a jaw-dropping and wicked comeback.

Ryan Paevey was one of the Hallmark hunks who starred in several movies for the channel over the years.
He also starred as the hunky police officer, Nathan West, on General Hospital.
Before getting into soaps and film, Ryan did modeling work and appeared in several movies.
The actor had yet to announce any upcoming projects with Hallmark, which prompted concerned fans to worry about his future with the popular channel.
Unfortunately, it seems Ryan doesn’t have anything planned for 2024 for Hallmark at this point, and he is considering walking away from acting.
This isn’t the news Mr. Darcy fans hoped to get from him.

After Puppet Master, Subspecies is undoubtedly Full Moon’s most successful franchise. The two are similar in that they both have an intricate central mythology that is expanded upon over time, and while both have their share of quirky humor, the films are much more serious in tone than other notable Full Moon franchises like Gingerdead Man or Evil Bong. The two series, however, also have their share of stark differences. For one thing, the Puppet Master series has spawned 15 films to date: 13 official entries from the home studio, plus a crossover by the Sci-Fi Channel and a remake. They also play it fast and loose in terms of continuity. Many different screenwriters have come and gone, adding to and contradicting the established mythology—sometimes in equal doses.

Full Moon’s Subspecies is an interesting franchise. It started in 1991, right at the dawn of a decade that’s all-too-often considered to be a mixed bag of horror offerings, catering to the direct-to-video market that was booming at the time. Until now, with the release of Subspecies V: Bloodrise on Screambox June 2, there had not been an entry in this series since 1998, nor had there even really been much merchandise until the comic book miniseries by Cullen Bunn a few years ago; and yet the vampire franchise still persists as a cult classic.
Subspecies is a seminal vampire franchise, Radu has many loyal followers and that fandom has sustained for decades, with long, long stretches without anything to feed it. That is a true testament to the talents of writer/director Ted Nicolaou, original screenwriter David Pabian, and of course Anders Hove as the villainous Radu. The franchise has...

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema should offer a special brew spiked with drippings from the Bloodstone to celebrate their newest infernal partnership. After 25 years of dormancy, Full Moon Features is pulling the Sword of Laertes out from the chests of the vampires of Subspecies for a limited theatrical release of its newest open wound. And make no mistake about it, director Ted Nicolaou’s prequel Subspecies V: Bloodrise is a must-watch for Subspecies fans, and a should-see for horror fans in general.
Beginning with Subspecies (1991) and running through Subspecies 4: Bloodstorm (1998), this movie series remained unique, without having to veil its most overt influence—which is all the most classic portrayals of the legendary creature on film or page, particularly by way of eastern European castles. Writer/director Ted Nicolaou was really pumping out entries in the Full Moon vampire series Subspecies back in the ’90s. The first Subspecies was released in 1991, Bloodstone: Subspecies II in 1993, Bloodlust: Subspecies III in 1994, the Subspecies-adjacent film Vampire Journals in 1997, and Subspecies 4: Bloodstorm in 1998. And he was fully prepared to keep the series rolling. During an interview with Pop Horror, he confirmed that he originally wrote the screenplay for Subspecies V: Blood Rise – which will receive a one-night theatrical release in thirty to forty cities, courtesy of Alamo Drafthouse, on May 15th – more than twenty years ago!
Nicolaou told Pop Horror, “We basically thought that Subspecies the first one, back in 1990 actually when we were shooting around eight months after the (Romanian) revolution that toppled Ceaușescu, we thought it was a one-off film and that would be it. It wasn’t until we screened it finally for Paramount – because...

“In space, no one can hear you scream.” That tagline isn’t amazing just because it’s attached to Alien, one of the greatest movies of all time. It also captures the inherent horror of space: the vast emptiness, the utter solitude, the complete helplessness. It’s no wonder that horror has been a part of space stories since the beginning, as seen in not only the Alien franchise, but also forerunners such as It! The Terror From Beyond Space and Planet of the Vampires.
With that in mind, it shouldn’t be too much of a surprise that several horror franchises have sought to shake things up by sending their monsters to space. Yes, it might initially sound odd to launch a gothic castle dweller like Count Dracula or the campground-bound Jason Voorhees through the stars, but the premise allows moviemakers to enhance the threat posed by their monsters...

“Stolen by crusaders on the night of his birth, he has no knowledge of his bloodline: his mother is a demon; his father is a vampire. Trained and exploited by a brotherhood of mystic monks to slay all enemies of the church, fate brings him back one night to the castle of his father, armed with the monster-slaying Sword of Laertes, to destroy the vampire Vladislas and reclaim a holy relic: The Bloodstone.
“The events of that night turn Radu from a noble man into a vampire with no master, setting him on a centuries-long quest for sustenance, and companionship, for the...

Already the highest-grossing Danish film ever — with each of its predecessors following closely behind — “The Purity of Vengeance” is the fourth adaptation of Jussi Adler-Olsen’s hugely popular “Department Q” novels about a Copenhagen cold-case police unit. It will also be the last in this particular series, as the screen rights have now transferred from Zentropa to Nordisk, with any future “Q” movies unlikely to retain the same cast or behind-scenes staples.

Time for a taste of some Danish mystery. Zentropa Entertainment has debuted the full official trailer for a Danish thriller titled The Purity of Vengeance, originally titled Journal 64. This film is about a series of mysterious disappearances in 1987 that are all eerily connected to the same person. The investigative thriller follows Carl Mørck and Assad from Department Q, who try to figure out how a bunch of dead bodies are connected and who's behind everything. The Purity of Vengeance stars Fares Fares, Nikolaj Lie Kaas, Nicolas Bro, Anders Hove, Søren Pilmark, and Elliott Crosset Hove. This looks very cool, a bit like The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo films or even Fincher's Se7en, but with some unique twists. I am curious to see more footage from this and check it out whenever it hits theaters outside of Denmark. Dig in. Here's the first trailer (+ poster) for Christoffer Boe's The Purity of Vengeance,...

Recently, I attended the HorrorHound Weekend convention in Cincinnati, Oh which is one of many conventions that have popped up in recent years devoted to the horror and science fiction genre. This particular show had well over 30 celebrities in attendance with six of the Walking Dead stars and it was obvious that a bulk of the attendees came for that. With a sold out weekend where 30,000 tickets were capped off, lines that went on forever, and a convention center packed to capacity, it was obvious this was going to be a very special show and it was.
For those who have never been to one of these shows, you can expect to find a celebrity at a booth/table with a variety of pictures and props for sale. You will have to pay for an autograph and usually a free picture with said celebrity comes with it. The average is $20 per item signed.

He's met his maker twice but you can't stop Cesar Faison from terrorizing General Hospital! The über-tressed supervillain — played by fan favorite Anders Hove — returned to the ABC soap Nov. 12 in a triple shockaroo. Not only is Faison still alive after supposedly being blown to bits in a boat explosion, he's also the brains behind the kidnapping of Robin Scorpio (Kimberly McCullough). Crazier still, it was also revealed that he's been running around Port Charles in a prosthetic mask pretending to be Duke Lavery (Ian Buchanan). Meanwhile, he's holding the real Duke hostage. TV Guide Magazine rang Hove at his home in Denmark to chat about Faison's freaky return and, of course, we asked him the question on everyone's mind: How the hell does Faison cram all that hair into his Duke mask?

I've been hard on Full Moon of late, I realize this. But I am an avid supporter of a lot of their earlier work - especially the Subspecies trilogy (yes, I know there was a fourth film and a spinoff, and the less said about them the better). So I'm delighted to bring word that the folks at Full Moon will be unleashing Radu into the world of 1080p horror once again!
Following the HD release of the original Subspecies a little over a year ago, Full Moon announces that Bloodstone: Subspecies II and Bloodlust: Subspecies III will follow with Blu-ray bows in 2013. Best of all? These are sounding like full-fledged special editions complete with new audio commentaries by stars Anders Hove and Denise Duff, and a new video interview with the reclusive Radu as well.

Subspecies What Gen X horror fan doesn't remember when Subspecies came out to VHS? It got horror fans buzzing. It featured one of the most memorably freaky looking vampires of all time in the form of Anders Hove. It featured the "Tall Man", Angrus Scrimm, from Phantasm. The artwork was captivating. Subspecies was a VHS rental hit, so much so that it spawned three sequels and it helped to put Full Moon Entertainment on the map. I remember staying up late at night so that I could watch this on Cinemax. What's disappointing is that this film hasn't been given a proper DVD release ....until now! Charles Band has just announced a re-mastered edition coming out this very month.
Yes, it's true! Subspecies re-mastered in 16:9 is finally here... on both Blu-Ray and DVD! Subspecies will "premiere" at the San Diego Comic Convention on July 20th. It will then be available only at www.

If you have Netflix and are a horror fan in need of something to watch this Labor Day weekend, one look at this gargantuan list I compiled of the new terror titles Netflix has added for instant streaming in just the first three days of this month should keep you busy until Labor Day next year. You'll find something for everyone, from older titles to recent releases, famous to obscure, classic to not-so-classic, monsters to maniacs - you name it.
For the record, I considered compiling this list in alphabetical order or by year of the film's release, but then I realized I had already spent well over an hour just sorting through the massive catalogue of titles Netflix has now made available for instant streaming and realized Labor Day would be over by the time I finished arranging this list in any kind of order. Ready? Here you go.

Today sees the UK based satellite chanel Zone Horror re-brand itself back to the Horror Channel. As part of the celebratory proceedings the channel are airing a special Vampire Week, featuring fourteen(!) vampire movies And the Horror Channel premiere of Blade: The Series starring rapper Sticky Fingaz as the titular hero.
Why am I telling you this you may ask? Well airing as part of Vampire Week are, in my opinion, four of the Best vampire movies ever made – the Subspecies quadrilogy. As well as the not-as-good-as-the-originals Subspecies spin-off Vampire Journals. For those of you who have never heard of Subspecies, the films are a direct-to-video series produced by Full Moon Studios (Puppetmaster, Demonic Toys), which were released between 1991 to 1998, and followed the exploits of vampire Radu Vladislas, portrayed by actor Anders Hove, and his efforts to turn Michelle Morgan into his fledgling.
