Played the title role in "Macbeth" at Canada's Stratford Festival. (1971)
Performed for several years with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
(1968, Paris) Performed as "Prospero" in an experimental production of
"The Tempest" under director Peter Gill, but the production was forced to close due to student riots that swept through the city that year.
Joined the RSC and appeared with them in Russia and America.
Trained at the School of Speech and Drama and the Drama Centre in London.
Did National Service prior to studying at the Central School of Speech and Drama.
Has a small farm in Lincolnshire.
