Now that we know the next Marvel/Disney+ series, the Nick Fury-led Secret Invasion, is officially headed our way in June, team MCU naturally wants to keep that in our brains. So the new trailer has landed.
Following up on the events of not just Captain Marvel, but Fury's other appearances (such as the end credits sting of Spider-Man: Far From Home) Secret Invasion finds Samuel L. Jackson's badass back on Earth for the first time in "a while". And there's a reason he's been summoned home, with trouble afoot from a sect of the Skrull race he met in Marvel.
Ben Mendelsohn's Talos alerts him to a faction that is looking to take what was promised to the Skrulls by humanity by duplicity or by force. Led by Gravik (Kingsley Ben-Adir), the new faction also boasts someone close to Talos.
Addressing – for once — the big question...

Disney+ has unveiled the first trailer for Marvel’s “Secret Invasion,” a six-episode limited series that brings the real Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the first time since “Avengers: Endgame.”
“Fury, since you’ve been gone, things have gotten so much worse,” Skrull leader Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) says in the new teaser. Responds Fury, “Why do you think I came back?”
Fury and Talos have a history dating back to the events of “Captain Marvel,” when Fury promised Talos and the Skrulls he’d help the displaced, shapeshifting alien race to find a new home. The pair connected again, albeit in a clandestine fashion in “Spider-Man: Far From Home.” That film, which debuted just after “Avengers: Endgame,” featured a heavy dose of “Nick Fury,” but it wasn’t actually Nick Fury. As a post-credits scene revealed, the Fury of “Spider-Man: Far From Home” was actually Talos himself; Fury,...

15 years after he launched the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the post-credits scene of “Iron Man,” Samuel L. Jackson will get to take center stage as Nick Fury in the upcoming Disney+ series “Secret Invasion,” which just released a new trailer on Sunday. Disney also announced that the show will premiere on June 21.
As MCU fans saw with “Captain Marvel” in 2019, Nick Fury has had an alien ally for decades in Talos (Ben Mendelson), the leader of a sect of aliens called Skrulls who have taken refuge on Earth after their homeworld was destroyed.
But as seen in the new trailer, that sect is becoming a threat thanks to rogue Skrull named Gravik (Kingsley Ben-Adir), who has formed his own group apart from Talos and believes the best way for the Skrulls to survive is to use their shapeshifting powers to infiltrate Earth’s government and take what they need.

After many months of waiting, Marvel Studios has finally dropped a new trailer for "Secret Invasion." Starring the legendary Samuel L. Jackson as super-spy Nick Fury, the upcoming Disney+ original miniseries delves into an underground conspiracy unlike any the Marvel Cinematic Universe has ever seen before.
When he learns that a radical group of Skrulls has been secretly infiltrating Earth's society, the former Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. is determined to stop them by any means necessary. But with their shape-shifting abilities, these operatives could be hiding in plain sight, disguising themselves as crossing guards, doctors, government officials, or even Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
Since our first look at the show from "Mr. Robot" creator Kyle Bradstreet dropped at last year's D23 Expo, there hasn't been a ton of talk "Secret Invasion." A few theories have surfaced about what exactly could be going on, and stars like Emilia Clarke...

As anticipation builds for new Marvel’s “Secret Invasion”, more information is emerging about the upcoming Disney+ series.
Starring Samuel L. Jackson and Cobie Smulders, “Secret Invasion” finds Fury heading a covert mission after discovering that shape-shifting Skrulls (the alien race introduced in “Captain Marvel”) have secretly infiltrated all levels of human society in plans of taking over the planet from within.
Also starring in the series are “Game of Thrones” alum and former “The Crown” star Olivia Colman, and a new feature on the show in Vanity Fair reveals they’ll be playing characters on opposite sides of the conflict.
Clarke plays G’iah, daughter of Skrull commander Talos, played by Ben Mendelsohn. As Jackson pointed out, this isn’t the character’s first appearance in the MCU. “Remember when Ben was there with his wife and daughter?” Jackson said. “She’s the little Skrull girl grown up. She’s his daughter.

Marvel’s Secret Invasion is bringing paranoia in the MCU to a new level. The upcoming series finds Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) joining the Skrulls to find the alien race a new planet before an extremist group can wipe them out and infiltrate the people Fury has dedicated his life to protecting. In an in-depth interview with Vanity Fair, Jackson spoke about Secret Invasion in ways we haven’t heard before, revealed the identity of Emilia Clarke’s mysterious character, and more.
Before we get started, the Skrulls are an alien race who can perfectly simulate any human being at will. This ability makes them the ultimate weapon in infiltration and a threat to humankind. They could be anyone at any time. Your friends. Your neighbors. Your partners. They’re everywhere. Fury knows Earth is facing a threat unlike anything ever, and there’s almost no one he...

This post contains potential spoilers for Secret Invasion.
For the past several months, details about the Disney+ series Secret Invasion have been kept, well, secret. All we knew was that the show’s story would put Samuel L. Jackson‘s Nick Fury front and center for the first time, and tell an espionage tale involving the Skrulls, the shapeshifting aliens MCU fans first met in Captain Marvel.
But a recent Vanity Fair article has the intel, indicating a story that goes right to the heart of the Marvel Universe, shaking things up in a way that Thanos and Kang never could.

Secret Invasion may take its name and general premise from the 2008 Marvel Comics event by Brian Michael Bendis and Leinil Francis Yu, but the Vanity Fair article reports some major variations. In the comic book story, Secret Invasion involved a Skrull invasion...

It seems very much like the entire point of Marvel's upcoming "Secret Invasion" series is to craft a big ol' mystery. And anyone who has read the 2008 comic book series that the show is based on can surely understand why. But several months ahead of the premiere of the much-anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe event, the curtain is being pulled back just a bit to tell us more. To that end, we finally know precisely who Emila Clarke ("Game of Thrones") is playing — and it's technically not a new character.
While Marvel and the producers of the show don't feel this bit of info is a spoiler, some fans might, so those who want to go in totally blind, turn back now. That aside, in a big piece for Vanity Fair about the series, it's explained that Clarke's G'iah is a shape-shifting Skrull, just like the ones we met in 2019 "Captain Marvel.

IMDb TV has found its leads for High School, a coming-of-age dramedy series based on the memoir by Tegan and Sara Quin, from Housebroken co-creator Clea DuVall, Plan B Entertainment and Amazon Studios.
Discovered via TikTok by Canadian indie pop duo Tegan and Sara themselves, TV newcomers and twins Railey and Seazynn Gilliland have been tapped as series leads, portraying the high school versions of Tegan and Sara. Cobie Smulders and Kyle Bornheimer will also guest star in the series, playing the twins’ parents. High School will start filming on March 21 in Calgary, Ab.
High School is a story about finding your own identity—a journey made even more complicated when you have a twin whose own struggle and self-discovery so closely mimics your own. Told through a backdrop of ‘90s grunge and rave culture, the series weaves between parallel and discordant memories of twin sisters growing up down the hall from each other.

Disney is wasting no time in getting some fan-favorite characters back on screen. Following their removal from Netflix, “Daredevil,” “Jessica Jones,” “The Defenders,” and more will officially hit Disney+ in March.
On March 16, a total of seven Marvel shows will be added to Disney+. Rounding out the septet are ABC’s “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” and the rest of the Marvel’s live-action Netflix originals, “Luke Cage”, “Iron Fist,” “The Punisher.”
The series’ move from Netflix to Disney+ isn’t all that surprising, as the rights to the characters reverted back to Disney in February. The series expired on Netflix on Feb. 28.
But with the arrival of these TV-ma shows comes new parental control features that will roll out across Disney+ on March 16 as well, allowing parents to restrict access to the more mature content of shows like “Daredevil” and “The Punisher.”

I’ve always been partial to a bit of Taskmaster. I was lucky enough to buy the comic in person from a newsagent which had his first appearance in way back in 1980 (Avengers #195 for those keeping count). It was part of my after school ritual, to see what new comics had appeared, and this new villain really stood out. The cover to the following issue, which I counted down the days to buy, featured no Avengers at all, which never happened, just this menacing, imposing figure in a costume that I still love today. Designed by George Perez, why wouldn’t you? Taskmaster was sort of Marvel’s Deathstroke before Deathstroke, a villain with the ability to take an opponent’s power and use it against them. Taskmaster had what was called ‘photographic reflexes’, he could copy your abilities and take you down.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier may have been delayed until next year, but the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s small screen expansion will still kick off in 2020 when WandaVision arrives on Disney Plus. Things are starting to heat up for the rest of the franchise’s streaming exclusives, too, with She-Hulk tapping Tatiana Maslany to play Jennifer Walters and unknown actress Iman Vellani being announced as Ms. Marvel yesterday.
It’s been a big few weeks for the McU’s roster of TV projects, following the news that Samuel L. Jackson would also be headlining a Nick Fury series, as the shared universe’s most famous supporting character finally takes center stage. Usually reduced to the role of charismatic exposition machine, the idea of Jackson taking top billing for the first time is a massively exciting prospect, especially when you consider where we last saw the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D.

To the delight of many fans, it was reported on Friday that Samuel L. Jackson would be reprising his role as Nick Fury in his very own Disney+ series.
Fury has been an important player in the McU since its beginning, of course, with a cameo in the first Iron Man. As the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., he’s popped up in the Captain America franchise, as well as the Avengers films, and many more. Marvel even decided to further develop his backstory with the release of Captain Marvel in 2019. It’s no wonder that the character is set to receive his own Disney Plus series, then, alongside the likes of Scarlet Witch and Vision, the Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Loki.
Although Jackson and Disney have yet to comment on the announcement, the fanbase has quickly come up with theories regarding the in-development show. Right now, it’s anyone...

Kevin Feige made it perfectly clear that none of the previous Marvel TV shows are regarded as official canon anymore, which presented more problems for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. than the rest of the studio’s small screen output. After all, the series was only created following the success of The Avengers, starred recurring character Phil Coulson in the lead and featured numerous cameos across the seven seasons from familiar faces like Peggy Carter, Lady Sif, Maria Hill and even Nick Fury.
In an effort to distance itself from the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s official timeline, the final season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. introduced the idea of alternate realities into the mix, offering a suitable conclusion where none of the show’s events have been disregarded but they’re no longer directly connected to the movies, either.

Commissioner Gordon and J. Jonah Jameson are two of the most popular and beloved supporting characters in comic book history, although each of them has a very different relationship with an iconic superhero. Gordon is a longtime friend and ally of Batman, while Jameson just wants someone to get him pictures of Spider-Man, especially that unassuming Parker kid that works for him.
Besides glorious mustaches, the other major thing the two have in common is that they’ve both been played on the big screen by Academy Award winner J.K. Simmons. His Jameson was one of the highlights of Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy, but he wasn’t really given a whole lot to do as Gordon when he showed up in Justice League.
After Spidey was rebooted into the McU, there were rumors making the rounds that Jameson would appear in the franchise, but fans couldn’t imagine anyone...

Post-credits scenes are a staple of the McU, so it’s only natural that Marvel’s Avengers caps off it’s campaign with a teaser of its own. Following the Avengers’ epic battle with Modok, his Adaptoid army, and his awakened Kree Sentry over the San Francisco Bay, Kamala goes home to Abu, who allows her to continue Avenging in between her schoolwork—roll credits.
Midway through the credits we’re shown Monica Rappaccini, the newly elected Scientist Supreme at Aim (a position she also holds in the comics) holding a meeting in which she lays out her plans for the future of Aim. “…from cloning to time travel…the possibilities are endless,” she tells her shadowy associates.

Earth’s Mightiest Heroes take center stage in Marvel’s Avengers, the new loot-based action-adventure game from Tomb Raider developer Crystal Dynamics and publisher Square Enix. The game gives fans control of several of Marvel’s greatest heroes as they take on an evil tech corporation known as Advanced Idea Mechanics (Aim), which has supplanted superheroes with its own robot army. Disbanded after a terrible disaster that claimed the life of Captain America, the heroes have to find a way to come together again to take down this new threat to the world and bring back the age of heroes to the Marvel universe.
Marvel’s Avengers features a diverse cast of heroes and villains, including cult-favorite baddie George Tarleton, better known as the superhuman and ugly force of nature Modok. During your adventure, you’ll also meet former Ant-Man Hank Pym, have a run in with the Abomination, take on Taskmaster,...

Black Widow‘s release delay (due to the Covid-19 pandemic shutting down movie theaters for less time than they really should have been) had a cascade effect, not just on the rest of the McU slate, but on the comics planned to capitalize on the film’s expected popularity in theaters. So when Black Widow made it back onto the slate for November, it was only a matter of time before the comics also showed back up.
Widowmakers: Red Guardian and Yelena Belova and Taskmaster are also coming in November. Widowmakers comes from Devin Grayson (one of Yelena’s creators) and artist Michele Bandini (X-Men: Gold). This story catches up with Yelena after she’s moved on from the idea that her destiny was to take over the Widow mantle (and well after she tried to kill her former Red Room alum). There was a moment while playing the Marvel’s Avengers early access beta on the PlayStation 4 when I had to ask myself whether this slice of the game was the best way to showcase what was supposed to be a major spectacle for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Following two of the biggest movies of all time, Marvel’s Avengers should feel like a victory lap for Square Enix and a grand return to video games for the superhero team. Instead, the beta showcases a low-key affair that never quite feels all that fresh or unique.
While the combat, traversal, and all of the game’s other mechanics generally work just fine, the title’s dependence on long-established trends and design concepts, as well as a very dull group of baddies, render Marvel’s Avengers sort of ordinary. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has just begun its seventh and final season, and star Chloe Bennet has promised that it will deliver on its finale and not end up like Game of Thrones.
The previous season ended with the team traveling back in time to the 1930s when S.H.I.E.L.D. was founded in an effort to stop the alien Chronicoms from destroying humanity and taking the planet for themselves, where they’re met with a moral quandary that goes against what they believe in but is necessary for the survival of the human race.
When interviewed prior to the season’s debut, Bennet was asked if she felt it was possible for viewers to be happy with the series finale, and had this to say:
“Yes, I do. This is not a Game of Thrones situation. I think fans will be very satisfied with the way that the show ends.

“Agents of Shield” begins its final mission on Wednesday and will wrap up seven seasons of existing almost exclusively on the periphery of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When it first debuted in 2013, “Shield” was supposed to mark the McU’s arrival to the small screen. After all, it starred Clark Gregg, reprising his role as Phil Coulson and the first season featured cameo appearances by Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) and Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson). Despite Marvel TV chief Jeph Loeb’s often-stated assurance, “It’s all connected,” the connection between the films and TV shows often felt tenuous. “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” even introduced a conspiracy that seemed to threaten the premise of “Agents of Shield.” “I think that’s pretty clear we’re the black sheep of the Marvel Universe,” actress Chloe Bennet, who plays Daisy Johnson aka “Quake,” told TheWrap. “I think everyone was aware of...

Kevin Feige may have stressed that none of the existing Marvel TV shows are official canon anymore, presumably because the advent of Disney Plus gives the studio the opportunity to wipe the slate clean and consolidate the entire franchise under one roof, and while you can easily explain away the events of Netflix’s Defenders output, Runaways or Cloak & Dagger, completely removing Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. from continuity would be a lot more difficult to justify.

Cast your mind back to March of 2019, long before Avengers: Endgame blew a Thanos-sized hole in the McU, and you’ll no doubt remember the moment when Captain Marvel pulled a bait-and-switch, revealing the Skrulls to be luckless refugees. And definitely not enemies.
It’s a story twist that Marvel Studios later honored in Spider-Man: Far From Home, when Talos and Soren impersonated Nick Fury and Maria Hill, respectively, leaving the former to kick back and relax on some form of Skrull spaceship.
So, it’s fair to say that expectations are high going into Captain Marvel 2. The space-faring sequel likely won’t be with us until 2022, but new intel uncovered by 4Chan (h/t CosmicBookNews) suggests that Marvel has already decided on which villain will face off against Carol Danvers in two years’ time.

Spider-Man: Far From Home saw both Peter Parker and moviegoers experience a series of escalating twists and fake-outs, but without a doubt, the biggest reveal came after the credits had finished rolling, when we learned that Nick Fury and Maria Hill had actually been Skrulls throughout the entirety of the film.
Director Jon Watts has since said that this post-credits twist was implemented to explain how the notoriously cynical Fury could be completely fooled by Mysterio’s antics, but it really felt more like a tease for future McU projects than a continuation of Far From Home’s story. And it seems that’s indeed the case, as we know the Skrulls – and the Kree – will continue to have a pretty big role in the McU.
In fact, with Captain Marvel 2 said to be adapting the “Secret Invasion” arc from the comics, you can bet that a couple more heroes...

While at Ccxp Brazil, he spoke with Brazilian pop culture site Omelete about the Marvel projects and when asked about how the visual language of the Disney+ series will compare to the McU, he first responded by stating that “Disney+ is going to give us this opportunity to tell even deeper stories about characters you already know and love,” and followed it up with the declaration that “it all, for the first time, will interlink.” By stating that this is the beginning of the movies and TV series connecting, he’s effectively wiped all previous Marvel shows from canon, which Wgtc told you he was going to do last month.

Much of that comes down to Far From Home‘s water-tight script, while the introduction of Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio certainly took things to a whole new level. It’s no wonder Marvel fans are combing over each and every frame of the film’s finale in the hope of something – anything – that proves Quentin Beck is still alive.
But that’s not all: during Far From Home‘s end-credits scene, it’s revealed that Maria Hill and Nick Fury were, in fact, Skrulls. Remember the moment when Talos tells Peter how Beck is from Earth, “just not yours?” That was the first in a long series of clues. However, as Tom Holland...

Read through our review as we discuss this first wild ride into Stumptown.
Cobie Smulders has hit her stride as Dex Parois.
If Robin Sherbotsky and Maria Hill combined there DNA and made a baby it would be Dex.
Dex is the perfect amount of snark and bad ass.
We have only begun to scratch the surface of who she is as a character, but it feels like we have known her longer than characters who have been established for years by other shows.
Dex is the type of character which draws people in, as we see throughout the premiere with...
