Jason Hayes

Why David Boreanaz Picked Seal Team As His Bones Follow-Up
Image
Actor David Boreanaz is no stranger to leading a TV show, and he's definitely starred in some wildly different leading roles over the years. After heading up "Angel" as the titular romantic and semi-repentant vampire in Joss Whedon's "Buffy the Vampire" spin-off, he tackled the role of FBI agent Seeley Booth on the long-running hit Fox procedural "Bones." But after "Bones," he wanted to go in another direction. Following the "Bones" finale, he ended up starring in the CBS military action drama "Seal Team," portraying Master Chief Special Warfare Operator Jason Hayes, the leader of the Bravo Seal Team. As Hayes, also known as Bravo 1, he had to lead his team in incredibly dangerous and tense situations, like extracting hostages from terrorist organizations. The show strove to be accurate, with a number of military consultants involved to help maintain realism and provide the little details that make a story feel more authentic,...

David Boreanaz Was Like a "Terrifed Kid" Filming Buffy Pilot Episode
Image
With a Buffy The Vampire Slayer revival on its way, there have been several stories emerging about the original series as those involved in the iconic series have reminisced about their own time working on the show. Currently, it is not clear which actors from the original series will be making an appearance outside the original Slayer, Sarah Michelle Gellar. While Gellar was already established as an actor when taking on the role of Buffy Summers, her costar David Boreanaz was very new to the scene – and the director of the show’s pilot has explained exactly how green he was.

Before being expanded to the full first episode of the series, creator Joss Whedon made a 25-minute pilot, and while appearing on the Re-vamped with Juliet Landau podcast, Charles Martin Smith recalled Boreanaz being like a “terrified” kid. He said:

“David, playing Angel, he had his first scene I think ever in my episode.

'S.W.A.T.' Fans Should Watch 'Seal Team' After That Painful Cancelation
Image
After 8 seasons on CBS, the action crime drama S.W.A.T. was canceled once again by the network. Fans of the series might have grown used to such bad tidings. After all, it’s the third time that the series has been announced to be in its “final” season, but that doesn’t make the news any less disappointing. There are a couple of episodes left for fans to say their (maybe?) goodbyes, and in the series’ absence, Paramount+'s military dramaSEAL Team could help to ease those parting pangs.

Starring David Boreanaz, Seal Team follows an elite group of US Navy SEALs as they travel the world and take on a series of dangerous missions. Following their professional strategies and personal sacrifices, the series is a combination of action procedural and military drama that fans of S.W.A.T. should enjoy. Seal Team is a thrilling and complex adrenaline rush. Set in the world of elite soldiers,...

'Buffy' Star Sarah Michelle Gellar's Latest Instagram Post Sparks Age-Old Debate Among Fans
Image
David Boreanaz just ignited a Buffy the Vampire Slayer debate on Instagram, adding more excitement around the anticipated sequel series. With a pilot order nearing at Hulu, fans of the series are excited about the possibility of another chapter in the Buffy universe. Adding fuel to that fire is Boreanaz's recent comment on Sarah Michelle Gellar's Instagram. In a post, Gellar shared two pictures from Paris, where she is sitting and posing, wearing a black leather jacket. Boreanaz, referencing Buffy's vampire love interests, took to the comments and asked

"Is that Angel's jacket or Spike's?"

The question triggered a slew of comments. While some hoped it was Angel's, and others rooted for the romance between Buffy and Spike, others suggested it was Buffy's own jacket– a theory we're happy to endorse. The comments were a testament to Buffy's enduring legacy and the show's committed fanbase.

Hulu's Buffy the Vampire Slayer revival,...

What Happened To The Cast Of Fox's Bones?
Image
If you're a fan of the long-running crime procedural "Bones" — which kicked off in 2005 and concluded in 2017, spanning 12 seasons and 246 episodes — then you're definitely familiar with its core cast, who play a mix of scientists and cops trying to solve cases using forensics and, well, a whole lot of bones.

Based on the book series by real-life forensics expert Kathy Reichs and led by Emily Deschanel as the titular "Bones" — or, more accurately, forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan, who bears the on-the-nose nickname "Bones" — the show centers around the fictional Jeffersonian Institute Medico-Legal Lab, which collaborates with the FBI to solve cases based on sparse human remains in Washington D.C. So what happened to the core cast of "Bones" since the show ended in the late 2010s, and what projects have they undertaken since playing police officers and scientific experts?

Seal Team Season 7 Episode 6 Review: Hundred-Year Marathon
Image
If Bravo Team ain’t what it used to be, neither is Seal Team.

I went into Seal Team Season 7 Episode with some trepidation. So much of this season hasn’t worked that I was surprised at how well this hour did.

Finally, I can empathize with Jason and the team is feeling more cohesive. But understanding Jason doesn’t make his story easier to bear, and even a cohesive team runs into trouble.

(Michael Moriatis/Paramount+) Jason Hayes, Family Man

Thank God that Mikey isn’t actually a burgeoning drug addict. Still, he learned absolutely nothing from his father, which might say more about Jason’s deployment schedule than his parenting skills.

Mikey cracked under the pressure of his injury almost immediately. Can you imagine if he followed in his father’s footsteps to the battlefield? God help us all.

Despite how he looked at is after the fact,...

Seal Team Season 7's Potential Clay Appearance Gets Honest Response From Max Thieriot
Image
Clay's potential appearance in Seal Team season 7 is unlikely. Thieriot expressed interest in a flashback appearance, but the current filming schedules make it improbable. Showrunner Spencer Hudnut previously mentioned that Clay's legacy will continue in the show.

Clay's potential appearance in Seal Team season 7 gets an honest response from former cast member Max Thieriot. Led by Bones and Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum David Boreanaz, Seal Team is set to return for its final season without Clay Spenser. The character was killed off in season 6, allowing Thieriot to focus on his work as the star and co-creator of the CBS drama Fire Country. With his death, Clay left reverberations that the series continues to grapple with.

In an interview with TV Insider, Thieriot addressed whether Clay could appear as part of a flashback in the forthcoming Seal Team season 7. The actor shared that he would have loved to make an appearance,...

We've been waiting for Seal Team Season 7 updates since Seal Team Season 6 went off the air in November.

The series has consistently delivered plenty of action as we follow the lives of the Bravo Team and those in their orbit.

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like Seal Team Season 7 will be on the air soon, but we TV Fanatics have rounded up everything to know about the season ahead.

Yes, it occurred a little later than we expected, but there was no way the streaming service would leave us hanging after the conclusion of Seal Team Season 6 Episode 10.

It's good knowing that our favorite show is returning, but there were some concerns that the streaming service held off longer than usual for an official announcement.

CBS Fall 2023 Primetime Lineup to Include ‘Yellowstone’ and Reality Programming
Image
The cast of ‘Yellowstone’

CBS’s 2023 fall primetime lineup will look vastly different from previous years. Due to the Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA strikes, production has been shut down on scripted series and films. Given the lack of new episodes of its normal nighttime shows, CBS is diving into programs that have aired on Paramount+. Plus, the network’s leaning heavily on unscripted series and game shows.

Yellowstone starring Kevin Costner, Wes Bentley, Kelly Reilly, and Luke Grimes will make its debut on broadcast television this fall. Season one will air on Sundays on CBS, five years after premiering in June 2018 on Paramount Network.

Paramount+’s Seal Team season five will run on CBS on Thursdays, and FBI True makes the move from Paramount+ to CBS on Tuesdays this fall. And the original U.K. Ghosts, which inspired the American version, will take up a spot on CBS’s lineup on Thursdays.

‘Seal Team’ Boss on Seeing Max Thieriot Again & Why No One Died in Season 6 Finale
Seal Team ended its sixth season, leaving us wondering where Bravo goes from here, considering that the entire team — and other SEALs — spoke up as Jason Hayes (David Boreanaz) faced command after going public with his Tbi. But we have more burning questions for a potential Season 7 than that.. Was the episode in which Clay died the last time we’ll see Max Thieriot? What changed as a result of killing him off? We turned to showrunner Spencer Hudnut to get answers to those and more. Is it possible we’d see Max again in a flashback in the future? Spencer Hudnut: We’ve done things like that in the past. Image
Paramount+’s Seal Team season six episode 10 finds the team mourning the loss of one of their own. Fans are still reeling from the events of episode nine which found Clay Spenser passing away – and Max Thieriot exiting the series. Given that Thieriot’s the lead in Fire Country, Clay’s death was shocking yet not unexpected.

In an interview with TV Insider, executive producer Spencer Hudnut talked about the decision to kill off Clay.

“For a long time, I really weighed maybe he and Stella (Alona Tal) and Brian do move out to California and live that life that they talk about in this episode. But because of his traumatic injury to his leg, he has a long road ahead to recover, and because the show is so much about vet issues and what our men and women in uniform deal with when they come home, it just felt...

SEAL Team (2017)
‘Seal Team’ Recap: How’s Clay’s Recovery Going?
SEAL Team (2017)
[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Seal Team Season 6 Episode 2 “Crawl, Walk, Run.”] “It’s how we deal with our s**t after we’re knocked down that makes us Bravo,” Jason Hayes (David Boreanaz) says at one point in the latest Seal Team episode, which proves just how right he is about that — for those still with the team and Clay (Max Thieriot) back home, recovering after his leg was amputated to save his life. Three months after the ambush, Clay has a prosthetic, he’s in physical therapy, and mirror therapy is helping the phantom limb pain. Sonny (Aj Buckley) has really stepped up to help his “battle-boo.” Clay refuses to be treated with kid gloves and is eager to move forward in his recovery. So when his therapist says he wants him to be able to stand for five minutes next week, Clay insists on trying ...

‘Seal Team’ Clip Goes Behind the Scenes With David Boreanaz (Video)
On Seal Team, it’s Bravo One, Jason Hayes, who takes the lead on ops. And behind the camera, the star (and executive producer) who plays him, David Boreanaz, has stepped up as well, directing six episodes (so far). TV Insider has an exclusive first look at one of the bonus features from the Season 5 DVD set, which is out on September 13, showing just that. “When you’re acting and directing at the same time, it’s a different type of animal because… you’re really compartmentalizing a lot of parts and you’ll prep and then you’re constantly learning on the day,” Boreanaz says in the video. “If I can learn during the day while I’m doing something, I think that it’s somewhat successful for me.” Watch the clip above to see Boreanaz directing as well as more on his approach. It comes from the feature,...

3 Ways ‘Seal Team’ Could Handle Clay Post-Cliffhanger in Season 6
Max Thieriot
All of elite squad Bravo may have been pinned down and under heavy fire when Seal Team Season 5 ended, but based on the trailer and photos for the Paramount+ military drama’s return on September 18, we only have to worry about one: Clay Spenser (Max Thieriot). Clay is also the one who had planned to take time away from Bravo as the team headed to Mali, West Africa for their mission. As he explained to Jason Hayes (David Boreanaz), he planned to put up for Green Team so he could be there for his family, at least for the near future. Jason made sure he knew the door was open for him to return when he was ready. But now, it seems, that offer needs to remain in place for a different reason. As we worry about Clay until September 18, we’re taking a look at the ways Seal Team...

‘Seal Team’ Embarks on Northern Syria Mission in Season 6 Trailer
Max Thieriot
“Seal Team” is headed to Northern Syria in the heart-pounding trailer for Season 6 of the Paramount+ series, which dropped Friday.

In addition to the trailer, which shows Clay (Max Thieriot) in bad shape, the streamer announced the 10-episode season will premiere Sept. 18.

The military drama follows the professional and personal lives of the “most elite unit of Navy SEALs as they train, plan and execute the most dangerous, high stakes missions our country can ask of them. ‘Seal Team’ Operates Without [Spoiler] in Season 6 Trailer (Video)
David Boreanaz
Is Seal Team about to lose another of its own when it returns for Season 6? The trailer makes it look like one of Bravo might not survive following the Season 5 cliffhanger in which they were ambushed. Paramount+, in announcing that the military drama will premiere its sixth season on Sunday, September 18 (the 10 episodes drop weekly), unveiled the official trailer and key art. While the returning cast — David Boreanaz (Jason Hayes), Neil Brown Jr. (Ray Perry), Max Thieriot (Clay Spenser), A.J. Buckley (Sonny Quinn), and Toni Trucks (Lisa Davis) — is all present in the latter, the former has us very worried about one of the team. Not pictured is new series regular Raffi Barsoumian, who stars as Omar Hamza, a senior chief with fifteen years of experience as a Seal and the son of Syrian immigrants with a deep understanding of the Middle East. Paramount+ As Season 5 ended, the elite team...

Seal Team Season 6 Gets a Premiere Date and Trailer: Who Might Be Dead?
SEAL Team (2017)
Seal Team Season 6 is going to be the most dramatic yet.

Paramount+ released the official trailer for the new season of the hit original drama series and revealed the season will get underway on Sunday, September 18.

Produced by CBS Studios, the series will debut all-new episodes weekly on Sundays exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S. Seal Team stars David Boreanaz, Max Thieriot, Neil Brown, Jr., Aj Buckley, Toni Trucks, and Raffi Barsoumian.

The official trailer is a shocker because it gives us some context about the state of the Bravo Team following Seal Team Season 5 Episode 14, which left the team in more danger than ever.

If we take the trailer at face value, Clay is the only member of the team not to escape unscathed.

Sure, everyone has cuts and bruises, but Clay is hospitalized, and his condition does not look good.

He says as much in the trailer...

‘Seal Team’ Adds Raffi Barsoumian as Series Regular
Image
Raffi Barsoumian, whom TV viewers might recognize from CBS’ one-season The Code, is back on a military drama. The actor is joining the cast of Seal Team as a series regular, according to Deadline. He’ll play “Omar, a Senior Chief with fifteen years of experience as a Seal. The son of Syrian immigrants, Omar has a deep understanding of the Middle East, and calls upon that knowledge to help navigate missions in the region.” But will all of Bravo team be around to work with Omar in Season 6? CBS Season 5 ended with Jason Hayes (David Boreanaz) and the rest of Bravo ambushed and under heavy fire, just after Clay (Max Thieriot) announced he was going to leave the team to be home with his wife and new baby. That cliffhanger “opens the [door to] who may survive, who may not survive, who’s gonna be injured. Is that injury gonna be...
