After a string of alcohol-related incidents, country legend Randy Travis is sober. TMZ reports that Travis' lawyer, Larry Friedman, confirms that the 53-year-old crooner has quit alcohol for good.
"[Randy] works out 3 hours every day and is in the best shape of his life," Friedman told the website. "He has a high protein diet and takes a lot of vitamins."
The website also reports that Travis is at work on a new album, an optimistic turn in what has proven to be a rough year for the singer. In August, Travis was arrested naked and charged with a Dwi after he crashed his car into a construction site 60 miles north of Dallas. In February, Travis was arrested once again by Texas police for public intoxication. The singer has also weathered a difficult courtroom battle with ex-wife and former manager of 30 years, Elizabeth Travis, who sued him for breach of contract in April.

Nashville, Tenn. -- Randy Travis is being sued by his ex-wife and former manager.
Travis said in a statement that the lawsuit filed last week by Elizabeth Travis won't stand up in court.
"It is unfortunate that it's come to this," Travis said. "We believe the lawsuit lacks merit and that we have legal defenses to her claims."
The country music star doesn't address his ex-wife's claim that last August he hired an armed guard and several men to strip her office of records and memorabilia related to his career.
The lawsuit claims Randy Travis' employees took computers with working files, business records and even the record plaques from the walls from Elizabeth Travis' three-story Music Row office.
She says her ex-husband also made it impossible for her to do her job and terminated their management agreement without written warning. She's asking for damages, attorney fees, litigation costs...
