Heather Rae El Moussa Once Posed For Playboy
Image
There are a number of reality TV stars and actresses who have posed nude for Playboy. One example of both is Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum-turned-OnlyFans high-earner, Denise Richards. While it remains taboo for some, former Selling Sunset star, Heather Rae El Moussa is "proud" of starting out as a Playboy centerfold.

Now married to Tarek El Moussa, Heather credits being a Playmate for her success. After her Netflix stint, the realtor joined her husband on HGTV—starring in shows like the flop Flipping El Moussas, Flipping 101, and Flip Off, a new show with Tarek's ex-wife Christina Haack. Here's what Heather has said about her career journey.

Survivors Jenna Lewis And Colleen Haskell Rejected A Fortune From Playboy
Image
Now that Survivor has been airing for long enough that hundreds of people have played the game, the show has starred several great players. Fortunately for fans who are past the point of wondering which seasons to watch first, many are so invested in the players that medical evacuations can be heartbreaking.

Despite how much fans of Jeff Probst's beloved reality TV show care about the players, most of them don't know a fascinating fact about two of the show's first players. After they helped make Survivor: Borneo one of the show's best seasons ever, Colleen Haskell and Jenna Lewis were offered a fortune to pose in Playboy.

Survivor's Colleen Haskell Turned Down $100,000 To Pose In Playboy

Since it has been decades since Survivor premiered, some fans may find it hard to believe how popular the show's first season was. In fact, a December 2009 CBS News report revealed...

Joe Manganiello in Deal or No Deal Island (2024)
Are Boston Rob and Amber from Survivor still together?
Joe Manganiello in Deal or No Deal Island (2024)
Deal or No Deal Island features Survivor winner Rob Mariano.

He is back on an island trying to win another big cash prize, but it has also led to some questions from reality TV fans.

Many fans have been asking whether or not Boston Rob and Amber Brkich are still together.

CBS introduced Amber on Survivor: The Australian Outback. Amber finished in sixth place on the second season of the reality competition show. Tina Wesson was the Sole Survivor that year.

Rob was introduced on Survivor: Marquesas. Rob finished in 10th place on the fourth season of the show. Vecepia Towery became the Sole Survivor of his season.

Rob and Amber weren’t yet a couple, but that would all change later.

Survivor: All-Stars leads to Rob and Amber’s relationship

Season 8 invited many fan-favorites from the game to play in the first Survivor: All-Stars.

‘Survivor’ showmances: Top 15 sexiest of all time, including Matt and Frannie
Image
It’s no surprise that when the social experiment of “Survivor” began in 2000, it would produce some of reality TV’s sexiest flings ever. When Colleen Haskell and Greg Buis began flirting on Season 1 it was a bit of a surprise to viewers, but now the terms “showmance” and “power couple” are as common as “immunity challenge” and “tribal council.” Over the course of 44 seasons and more than two decades, contestants have put aside bad breath, limbs scarred from bug bites and their saggy, dirty swimsuits in order to find each other attractive enough to, yes, fall in love. In our photo gallery above, we detail 15 of the most iconic “Survivor” showmances of all time.

Why Survivor's Ancient Voices Intro Needs To Return
Image
One of the most iconic parts of Survivor is the theme song, "Ancient Voices," and fans are missing the memorable tune. The theme is instantly recognizable, as action shots of the castaways scroll past the screen before a torch is snuffed, and the season's logo appears at the end. Shots, such as Colleen Haskell's photo with a swarm of flies in front of it, from the Survivor: Borneo opening credits, remain fan favorites. They are a reminder of the harsh conditions that the contestants had to face. As the seasons went on, the opening credits got shorter and shorter, until they disappeared altogether, beginning with Survivor: Ghost Island. Since then, the show jumps right into the action, without narration from host, Jeff Probst.

With Survivor 44 starting in early 2023, it's time to bring back the opening sequence. It's iconic, and helps the viewer to remember who everyone is. Since Survivor's...

‘Survivor’ flashback: 20 years ago, Richard Hatch celebrated birthday by walking around naked [Watch]
Image
Can you believe it’s been 20 years since CBS censors had to pixelate Richard Hatch‘s naked body on “Survivor: Borneo”? The popular castaway walked around in his “birthday suit” to celebrate his 39th bday on the ninth episode of that iconic first season, which aired July 26, 2000. Watch the “Survivor” flashback video above. It’s since become one of the most well-known and controversial moments throughout the reality TV show’s 40 seasons, particularly in the wake of the #MeToo movement against sexual harassment.

There were only eight castaways left in the merged Rattana tribe when Richard celebrated his birthday sans clothing: original Tagi members Richard, Kelly Wiglesworth, Rudy Boesch, Susan Hawk and Sean Kenniff and original Pagong members Jenna Lewis, Gervase Peterson and Colleen Haskell. Richard of course would eventually go on to win the show’s first-ever $1 million check (see the winners list).

Original ‘Survivor’ castaway Jenna Lewis is itching to play again after 16-year absence: ‘Third time’s a charm’
Image
Original “Survivor” castaway Jenna Lewis didn’t hold back when asked by EW.com if she would ever want to play again. “F— Yes!” she exclaimed. Jenna appeared on “Borneo” (Season 1) and “All Stars” (Season 8), but hasn’t been seen since, despite repeatedly being on producers’ shortlists over the past 16 years. “I have been contacted so many times, it’s like CBS is my own personal d— tease,” she joked. “This last time I had signed over 100 pages of documents and gone for shots, and started the whole mental prep. Just do it already, Mark [Burnett] and [Jeff] Probst. Third time’s a charm.”

The concept of watching “Survivor” on TV now is starting to leave a bad taste in her mouth. Jenna readily admitted, “I am still butt-hurt at how many times Survivor Casting has called and had me on stand-by for a season, or had me in the ‘finals’ of casting,...

Let’s raise a torch to the late B.B. Andersen, who was voted out of ‘Survivor’ 20 years ago this week
Image
Even though more than 600 castaways have played the game of “Survivor” over the past two decades, fans have never forgotten B.B. Andersen. This original cast member from the iconic first season was the second person voted off the island when he was 64 years old. After the show wrapped, B.B. lived for another 13 years until his death at age 77 from brain cancer. (He’s one of six dead “Survivor” castaways — see photos above.) Let’s all raise a torch to the late B.B. Andersen, who was voted out of “Survivor: Borneo” 20 years ago this week.

‘Survivor’ gross-out flashback: It’s the 20th anniversary of Gervase Peterson eating grub worms, and we’re still gagging [Watch]
Image
This week marks the 20th anniversary of one of the most iconic gross-out moments in reality TV: Gervase Peterson eating grub worms on the second episode of the first season of “Survivor.” The date was June 7, 2000. Gervase’s Pagong tribe had won the previous week’s inaugural immunity challenge and was spared from voting someone out at tribal council, so they came into this second challenge with a lot to lose. All they had to do was eat grub worms faster than their Tagi tribe counterparts, and a fresh-faced Jeff Probst would give them the immunity idol again. How did it all play out? Watch the “Survivor: Borneo” flashback video above.

‘Survivor’ losers: 16 lovable contestants ranked include Cirie Fields, Rupert Boneham, Rob Cesternino
Survivor (2000)
“Survivor” superfans are currently hyped for the upcoming all-winners season, but it’s not always the case that the most popular contestant of the season is the one who wins. In fact, the audience tends to fall in love with those who just come up short of the $1 million prize, often more so than the champion. Players like Rupert Boneham, Cirie Fields and Joe Anglim will probably never win “Survivor,” no matter how many times they come back and try. Their likability is a double-edged sword — they’re genial enough to be safe through several Tribal Councils but once it gets toward the end, they’re too big of a jury threat to win. As we prepare for “Survivor: Winners at War,” here’s the ranking of our 16 favorite lovable losers we hoped would make it onto an all-winner season someday.

Watch: Fowl Play! CBS Releases New Survivor Opening Credits – with a Twist
Survivor (2000)
Every season, someone emerges as a Survivor fan favorite.

Back in 2000, people actually wrote songs about Survivor's first sweetheart, the quirky and cute Colleen Haskell. Haskell parlayed that fame into a leading role in a Rob Schneider movie before vanishing from public life. (Speaking of Colleen, does anyone know where she is these days? Asking for a friend.)

We've seen other favorites come and go: Rupert, Russell, Cirie, Joe. CBS knows how to promote these fan favorites – casting them on subsequent seasons, booking them on soap operas and even having them compete on The Price Is Right.

But this is a first.

Kelly Wiglesworth: I Wasn't Going to Change Who I Am for Survivor
Survivor (2000)
For those who weren't watching Survivor in 2000, it's hard to understand Kelly Wiglesworth's importance to the franchise – and to reality TV in general.

Back then, she was a 22-year-old whitewater rafting guide who truly thought that Survivor would be all about braving the elements. As Richard Hatch gleefully schemed his way through the game, Wiglesworth was conflicted about forming an alliance and voting out deserving players.

The result in 2000: one of the most complex, three-dimensional edits in Survivor history. (She's the one who coined the now-ubiquitous reality TV catchphrase "I'm not here to make friends," right before admitting...

Reality TV Is a Snake Eating Its Own Tail
Heather B.
All week long, Vulture explores what happens to reality-tv contestants after the show ends — and the future of the genre itself. There’s a quote attributed to Albert Einstein that says insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results. Well, Einstein never spent a Sunday in his pajamas on the couch surrounded by three Seamless bags, neck-deep in a Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta marathon. If he had, Einstein would know that the real insanity in reality television is that everyone keeps doing the same things, just slightly different enough for us to tune in anyway. What is life post–reality television? More reality television.Once upon a time, when reality TV was first starting in the early '90s, we thought the participants were all there to get attention so they could do other things: Heather B. from the original Real World wanted to be a rapper...

Waxing Episodic: The 15th anniversary of the premiere of 'Survivor: Borneo'
Survivor (2000)
In HitFix's new feature "Waxing Episodic," we reflect on an episode of television we'll never forget. On May 31, 2000, I watched the premiere of "Survivor." I was edgy.  At that point, the "Survivor" audience was just me and 15.5 million of my fellow early adapters. The next week, the "Survivor" audience went to 18 million and then to 23.25 million. Before "Empire" made our minds boggle at the mere idea of a show actually gaining viewers each week, there was "Survivor," which started with a 6.1 rating among adults 18-49 and was at a 12.7 rating by its penultimate installment. [I actually missed that first finale, which averaged nearly 52 million viewers, because I was in the process of moving to Los Angeles. Nobody tell me who won!] Last week's 15th anniversary marked a good time to dust off my "Survivor" (or "Survivor: Borneo" or "Survivor: Pulau Tiga") DVDs and our frequent -- when we happen to have the time -- "Waxing Episodic" feature was a perfect time to reflect on how the game has changed and how it remains the same. I contemplated...

CBS will build on a schedule that will finish the current season as America's most-watched network in viewers for the 12th time in 13 years, including the last seven years straight. The new fall comedies are: Angel from Hell, about a loud, colorful, often inappropriate woman who claims to be a guardian angel, starring Golden Globe and Emmy Award winner Jane Lynch and Maggie Lawson; and Life in Pieces, an irreverent...

'Survivor' Season 28: Who should return for 'Brawn vs. Brain vs. Beauty'? Vote now
"Survivor" announced during the live "Blood vs. Water" reunion special that next season, which is number 28 (!) is "Brawn vs. Brain vs. Beauty," which could be a lot of fun. Since it's par for the course these days to have previous players return, it got us thinking -- which former castaways would we like to see in each category?

We're operating under the assumption that there will be three tribes divided according to the subtitle of the season, so here are our suggestions for each. Vote below for who your favorites are and let us know if we forgot anybody.

Also -- the castaways could oftentimes fit into two or all three of the categories, so we aren't saying they aren't smart or beefy or good-looking by picking one place to put them. Finally, we also are trying to pick people who haven't already returned to the show many times over.

'Survivor's' 10 best and 5 worst seasons: How will 'Blood vs. Water' rank?
"Survivor: Blood vs. Water" had a crazy thing happen last episode -- the Tribal Council, fueled by Hayden's last-ditch effort to sway Ciera's vote and save himself, went all the way to a drawing of rocks after two tie votes. It was only the second time that has ever happened in "Survivor" history and it sent Katie to Redemption Island.

But is that enough to propel this season into the ranks of the best seasons ever? We'll have to see how it plays out. For now, here are the 10 best and five worst seasons of the granddaddy of reality competition shows.

Marvel Cinematic Universe: How To Diversify Phase 3
by Brett White

Since the Marvel Universe was conceived of in the much less diverse days of the early 1960s, the majority of the characters that have risen to prominence are straight, white and male (looking your way, every member of The Avengers other than Black Widow). And while Phase One of the Marvel Cinematic Universe wasn't completely lacking in diversity, most of the women there served as a love interests (Pepper Potts, Betty Ross, Jane Foster and Peggy Carter) and there were even fewer characters of color (James Rhodes as War Machine and the Ultimate version of Nick Fury, himself previously Caucasian in the comics).

Things look to be improving for Phase Two, with characters like Sif and War Machine getting prominent placement and Falcon and Sharon Carter suiting up for action. But we think Marvel can really strive for diversity by utilizing some of the great characters mentioned below in Phase Three.

One thing I never ever wanted to see was a sequel to The Animal, in which Rob Schneider gets a whole bunch of animal organs implanted in him, giving him weird superhuman powers.
