Before he achieved fame as the star and writer of his own TV shows, he was best known as the favorite screenwriter of Marco Antonio Campos and Gaspar Henaine (Viruta and Capulina) and as the writer of their TV show Cómicos y canciones (1956). Gómez Bolaños also played small supporting roles in some Viruta and Capulina movies.
