Director Bruce Paltrow
This year's Women in Film-presented Crystal and Lucy Awards will be a family affair, with Gwyneth Paltrow and her parents Blythe Danner and Bruce Paltrow each being honored. Danner and her daughter will be presented with the Crystal and Lucy Awards for excellence in film and television, while a scholarship fund for television and film direction, which has been created in the name of the late Bruce Paltrow, will be presented for the first time at the June 18 awards dinner. "We are so pleased that Blythe and Gwyneth have agreed to let Women in Film honor them," the organization's president Iris Grossman said. "Both actresses express in their work the very best that film and television has to offer. Both women exemplify in their daily lives a grace, strength of character and public commitment to which we should all aspire." Danner is a Tony-winning actress whose credits include such films as The Prince of Tides and Meet the Parents. Paltrow, an Academy Award winner for Shakespeare in Love, stars in the drama Sylvia. Over the course of his lengthy career, Bruce Paltrow produced and directed such television hits as St. Elsewhere and The White Shadow.
