Perhaps the most noted translator of Spanish literature into English working today(c. 2005). She has translated many works of Mario Vargas Llosa, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, and, in 2003, what is considered the greatest Spanish classic ever written - the novel "Don Quixote" by Miguel de Cervantes. That translation has been acclaimed as the definitive English version of the great classic. Her translation of Gabriel Garcia Marquez's novel, "Memories of my Melancholy Whores", was published in October 2005.
