R. Kelly has been found guilty on all nine counts in his sex trafficking case. On Monday, Sept. 27, a Brooklyn jury returned a guilty verdict on all counts in the sexual abuse trial, according to NBC News. The charges involved six female victims, including late vocalist Aaliyah, who wed R. Kelly in the 1990s when she was 15 years old. In a public statement, R. Kelly's former attorney Steve Greenberg said, "We are extraordinarily disappointed in the verdict was returned by the New York jury today. Mike Leonard and myself believe that the verdict was not supported by the evidence and instead is a reflection of the hysteria whipped up by a...

R. Kelly’s former manager has been arrested on charges related to a gun threat that forced the evacuation of a media screening of “Surviving R. Kelly” early in 2018, according to the Associated Press. The Lifetime documentary, which chronicled the multiple claims of sexual abuse and misconduct against the singer over the years, revived attention on the allegations and played no small role in his arrest last year.
Kelly is in prison awaiting hearings in four jurisdictions on a battery of sexual abuse and misconduct charges, many of which involve women who were minors at the time.
Donnell Russell, 45, was charged with conspiracy and with threatening physical harm by interstate communication, according to the report. He was scheduled to appear remotely Friday before a magistrate judge in Manhattan federal court, although it was unclear who his counsel will be.

Following charges of fraud and extortion against Michael Avenatti, R. Kelly’s legal team filed a motion seeking all communication between the celebrity lawyer – who represents two of Kelly’s alleged victims – and the Cook County State Attorney’s Office.
In the motion, filed Monday, Kelly’s lawyer Steve Greenberg argued that prosecutors, namely State’s Attorney Kim Foxx, relied too heavily on evidence presented by Avenatti in order to secure the sexual abuse charges against Kelly.
Greenberg also questioned, given Avenatti’s current predicament, the authenticity of the allegations Avenatti brought to prosecutors.

A Cook County, Il judge set the bail for R&B singer R. Kelly for $1 million — $250,000 for each of the four people he’s charged with sexually abusing — during a hearing in Chicago on Saturday. the news comes a day after the Grammy winner was arrested and booked on 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse against four alleged victims, three of whom were underage at the time.
The Associated Press reported that a prosecutor told Judge John Fitzgerald Lyke Jr. at the bond hearing that one of the alleged underage victims first met Kelly when asking for his autograph during his 2008 child pornography trial. Kelly was acquitted of those charges, and has denied the current charges, which Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx has said spanned more than a decade dating back to 2008.

Jussie Smollett is facing prison time and the implosion of his career if it turns out he lied about being the target of a hate crime, legal and public relations experts say.
“The best thing that Jussie can do is pray and pray a lot,” said Ronn Torossian, founder of 5W Public Relations. “If he made it up, he has big problems in both the court of law and the court of public opinion.”
The “Empire” star claimed he was beaten up on Jan. 29 by two men who used racial and homophobic slurs. Smollett’s co-stars and colleagues on “Empire,” celebrities such as Ellen Page and Zendaya, and public figures such as Sen. Kamala Harris rallied behind the actor, releasing statements of support. However, Smollett’s account is now being challenged, with police investigating whether or not he paid two acquaintances, Olabinjo and Abimbola Osundairo, to stage the attack.

Album of the Year Nominees for the 2013 Grammys have been announced, with heavy favorite Mumford & Sons ("Babel") joining Frank Ocean ("channel Orange"), The Black Keys ("El Camino"), fun. ("Some Nights") and Jack White ("Blunderbuss").
"Babel" is on the lips of many speculators, particularly because the album strikes the right balance of commercial success and critical appeal. The album moved 600,000 copies in its first week of sales, which was the year's best until Taylor Swift's "Red" debuted with over a million units sold.
In advance of Wednesday's Grammy Nominations Concert (hosted by Taylor Swift and LL Cool J), Steve Greenberg, a former president of Columbia Records and the chairman of S-Curve Records told Rolling Stone that he feels "Babel" is "a lock" for the award.
Last year, Adele's "21" beat out Rihanna's "Loud," the Foo Fighters' "Wasting Light," Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" and Bruno Mars' "Doo-Wops & Hooligans.
