The WB Network is spying a one-hour project with Legally Blonde director Robert Luketic. The network has given a put pilot commitment with a penalty to an untitled Spygirl project from Warner Bros. TV and Sarah Timberman's studio-based 25C Prods. The project, based on Amy Gray's autobiographical book Spygirl: True Adventures From My Life as a Private Eye, centers on a twentysomething Ivy League graduate who quits her publishing job to join a small Manhattan P.I. agency and pursue her childhood dream of being a private investigator. Working with a gang of misfit colleagues, she discovers uncanny parallels between her investigations and her tumultuous love life. Maggie Friedman is penning the pilot script. She is exec producing with Timberman, Luketic, 25C head of creative affairs Carl Beverly and WBTV-based writer-producer Ed Redlich. Luketic also is attached to direct.

The stage is set for the return of the prodigal brother on CBS' Judging Amy in the fall. Dan Futterman, who left the family/legal drama after the second season, will return in the fall as a regular, reprising his role as Vincent, the younger brother of Amy Gray (Amy Brenneman). Futterman left the 20th Century Fox TV/CBS Prods. series in 2001, citing personal reasons, as he moved back to his native New York to raise his baby daughter (HR 10/8/01). Kevin Rahm, who joined the show in fall 2001 to fill the void left by Futterman and has played Gray's troubled cousin Kyle McCarthy as a regular for the past three seasons, is expected to appear in multiple episodes next season. Judging Amy, which centers on three generations of women (Brenneman, Tyne Daly, Karle Warren) living together in Hartford, Conn., returns in the fall for its sixth season. Futterman, most recently seen on the big screen in Enough, is repped by the Gersh Agency.
