Jimmie Allen revealed he contemplated suicide following the sexual abuse allegations against him last year as a way to financially provide for his family.
In May 2023, the country music artist’s former manager, identified only as Jane Doe, alleged he raped and sexually abused her several times. In a statement released at the time, Allen claimed the two had a consensual sexual relationship that lasted for two years.
“It is deeply troubling and hurtful that someone I counted as one of my closest friends, colleagues and confidants would make allegations that have no truth to them whatsoever. I acknowledge that we had a sexual relationship,” his statement read. “During that time, she never once accused me of any wrongdoing, and she spoke of our relationship and friendship as being something she wanted to continue indefinitely. Craig Ferguson knows a thing or two about strikes. The comedian hosted CBS’ The Late Late Show during the 2007/2008 writers strike.
As a member of the WGA, SAG-AFTRA and the DGA, the Scot has urged the studios to “make a f*cking deal”.
“I support the strike wholeheartedly,” he told Deadline. “You have one job as a producer and that’s to make a f*cking deal. That’s really the whole ethos of being a producer and they’re not making a deal, and I can’t understand that. Any good producer finds a way to make a deal that everyone walks away feeling kind of good about so I can’t imagine why an association of producers can’t get together with a bunch of people who want to work and say, ‘All right, we have to find a deal’.”

Freddie Highmore recalled the extreme lengths he was put through to appease a certain talk show host who apparently doesn’t like seeing guests ahead of time.
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday (18 April) evening, The Good Doctor star complimented Kimmel’s backstage set-up, calling it “lovely” compared to other “challenging” late-night sets he’d been on.
Intrigued by Highmore’s substandard experiences, Kimmel goaded him to say more.
Giving in, the British actor said: “I’m trying to avoid saying the name, but this host doesn’t like seeing guests beforehand.
“So I was coming backstage with a couple of the producers and they looked up and they saw the host at the end of the corridor and they were really, really scared.
“They grabbed me and they threw me into the next door that was right by the hallway and it was a broom closet.

Freddie Highmore’s recent trip to “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” was a cake walk compared to the time he had to hide in a closet to avoid a television host with a particular set of backstage rules. “The Good Doctor” actor revealed to Kimmel that he was once forced into a “dark broom closet” before a talk show appearance because the unnamed host was against seeing his or her guests before the on-air interview.
“I’m trying to avoid saying the name, but this host doesn’t like seeing guests beforehand,” Highmore said (via Entertainment Weekly). “So I was coming backstage with a couple of the producers and they looked up and they saw the host at the end of the corridor and they were really, really scared.”

Kelly Ripa first appeared on morning TV when she was a soap star on “All My Children.” At that time, she was being booked as a guest on “Live With Regis & Kathie Lee” by a young executive producer, Michael Gelman, who eventually helped cast her in a lead role, replacing Kathie Lee Gifford in 2001 to co-host with Regis Philbin.
More than 22 years later, Ripa and Gelman are still working together every day on “Live!” which has continued on as one of the greatest successes in television history, currently reigning as the top daytime talk show in syndication.
“She had that ‘wow factor’ as a guest,” Gelman tells Variety, reminiscing on when he first met a 20-something Ripa in the ’90s.
Gelman attributes much of the show’s success to Ripa’s relatability and keen understanding of the talk show format, which she has mastered for over two decades. “She feels like she’s your friend,...

Kelly Ripa has opened up about the “strange experiences” she faced during her early years working with ABC.
The 52-year-old Live! talk show host first joined the network in 2001, replacing Kathie Lee Gifford as the late Regis Philbin’s co-host on Live with Regis and Kelly.
Following Philbin’s 2011 exit, Ripa’s since been the show’s mainstay. However, she has claimed that there have been difficulties over the years.
Describing some periods as “very tough”, Ripa spoke with Variety about the rocky years she endured behind the scenes of the show, including the negotiations she had just to land her own backstage office space.
“It was the strangest experience I’ve ever had in my life. I was told that I couldn’t have an office,” she said. “It didn’t make a whole lot of sense, especially because there were empty offices that I could have easily occupied.

Kelly Ripa has spent 22 years as the host of a single daytime talk show, now earning a salary in the range of $20 million a year. She not only got movie-star rich as the co-host of “Live!”; she’s part of TV history, in a league of legends — Regis Philbin, Phil Donahue, Jerry Springer and Oprah Winfrey — who changed TV as they greeted millions of stay-at-home moms and dads each day.
Following in Winfrey’s footsteps wasn’t a path that the actress born and raised in New Jersey dreamed for herself. When Ripa joined Philbin on “Live!” in February 2001, after a fierce nationwide search to replace Kathie Lee Gifford, she was a bubbly soap-opera star best known for her years on “All My Children.” Since then, Ripa has maintained a cheerful (but not plastic) persona as she steered “Live!,” the most-watched syndicated talk show on TV, through divisive moments in...

The TLC series Darcey and Stacey is in its fourth season and going strong. It certainly seems like the Silva twins are loving their fame and all that goes with it. We were first introduced to Darcey Silva on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 1 in 2017. The series followed her chaotic relationship with Jesse Meester and their eventual break-up.
She came back to the series in season 3 with new love Tom Brooks, but things didn’t go any better. Darcy wasn’t very lucky in love but she and her sister Stacey did get their own TLC spinoff series, Darcey and Stacey. The first few seasons chronicled another broken romance for Darcey, this time with Georgi Rusev.
It turns out that 90 Day Fiancé was not Darcey’s first attempt at reality TV fame.

Kelly Ripa has hit back at Kathie Lee Gifford for throwing some shade at her and he upcoming memoir Live Wire: Long-Winded Short Stories.
The memoir had some passages talking about Ripa’s strained relationship with the late Regis Philbin, her former Live! co-host.
Gifford, who was replaced as host in 2001 by Ripa had said about the book: “I went, ’I hope it isn’t true. I just hope it isn’t.’ Cause what’s the point? You know, I don’t get it, I don’t get it. I’m not gonna read the book. I haven’t read it. I don’t even know if it’s out yet.”
Gifford hosted Live! With Philbin from 1985 to 2000, and seemed to take issue with Ripa’s discussion of these difficulties after Philbin’s death in 2020.
“We were absolutely perfect together for television. We never had an argument, not an unkind

Speaking on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Ripa touched on joining Regis Philbin on Live in 2001 after his former long-time co-host Kathie Lee Gifford left the show. She mentioned how she learned of all the backstage drama in later years and how she wouldn’t have taken on the role had she known about that at the time. “[Philbin] should not have had to have a host assigned to him. That’s not fair. He paid his dues, and he established this show, and I really advocate for him in this book,” said Ripa, referring to her new memoir, Live Wire. Kathie Lee Gifford is choosing not to read Kelly Ripa’s new autobiographical book Live Wire: Long-Winded Short Stories, which includes a chapter on their former mutual co-host Regis Philbin. The TV personality prefers to cherish her own positive memories of the late broadcaster, as opposed to Ripa, who claims she had difficulties with Philbin.
“I’m not gonna read the book. I haven’t read it. I don’t even know if it’s out yet,” Gifford admitted during her appearance on Monday’s “Good Day New York”. “I just know what Regis was to me. He was, for 15 years, the best partner a person could ever, ever have professionally, but he was my friend.”
Gifford previously co-hosted New York’s “The Morning Show” with Philbin since 1985 until they landed their own national talk show “Live with Regis and Kathie Lee”, which ran from 1988 until her exit in 2000. One year later,...

Ripa, who had been a soap opera star, joined “Live!” in 2001, replacing Philbin’s departed co-host, Kathie Lee Gifford.
“I don’t want to feel like I’m slamming anyone or that I’m being disrespectful. But I also want people to know it was not a cakewalk,” Ripa says of that time. “It took years to earn my place there and earn the things that are routinely given to the men I worked with. Including an office and a place to put my computer.
