This day has been coming. The couple announced that they were changing studios. The former studio, located in the Upper West Side, was the same studio where Regis Philbin and Kathie Lee Gifford filmed Live! The daytime talk show will move downtown.

Ripa and Consuelos didn’t take this change lightly. So many memories were made. Ripa joined the show in 2001 as Philbin’s co-host. After his exit in 2011, she co-hosted with Michael Strahan and Ryan Seacrest. Since then, the show has become a home to Ripa and her husband. Though Consuelos joined as co-host in 2023, the couple has made many memories there.

Live! With Kelly and Mark has just marked the end on an era.

The long-running ABC talk show aired its final episode on its Upper West Side, Manhattan studio on Tuesday (April 1).

While the show has been taped at the 7 Lincoln Square location for 37 years, the new episodes will now be filmed at Disney’s new NYC headquarters in downtown Manhattan at 7 Hudson Square.

Hosts Kelly Ripa, 54, and Mark Consuelos, 54, recently opened about their sentimental attachment to the original studio.

“Our kids grew up here. They’d come visit mom here a lot — they were always backstage, even when they were babies,” Mark told People, referring to their children Michael, 27, Lola, 23, and Joaquin, 22.

She reunited with former NBC co-stars, including Savannah Guthrie, Dylan Dreyer, and Jenna Bush Hager.

The occasion was Willie Geist’s first-ever live podcast event, Sunday Sitdown Live, held in front of a large audience in New York City.

The Sunday Today anchor’s event featured comedian Nate Bargatze as his special guest on stage for the live show.

Two months after Hoda Kotb revealed she was leaving Today, her replacement has finally been revealed. The person actually has a bit of history with the Today team. Kotb and many of her colleagues have also talked about the replacement.

The Replacement Has Had Quite The History With Today

Kotb will leave the show on January 10, 2025. The TV show host spent 26 years working with NBC. Having initially joined NBC News in 1998, she went on to become the Today show co-host with Kathie Lee Gifford around a decade later. Since Gifford’s departure in 2019, she then co-hosted with Jenna Bush Hager.

Since the news of her departure, rumors have come out over her possible replacement. However, a name has finally been announced.

Taking her place is journalist Craig Melvin. Notably, Melvin has had quite the background with the Today team, first working with them back in August 2018, having served various roles.

Craig Melvin will be the new co-anchor of NBC’s Today show. The show announced the news Thursday morning.

Melvin will join Savannah Guthrie at the Today anchor desk in January after Hoda Kotb steps aside. Kotb’s final show will be Friday, Jan. 10, while Melvin will assume his new role on Monday, Jan. 13. He will also continue to co-host the third hour of the program.

“The staff found out this morning, and people broke into applause,” Guthrie said in announcing the news. “This is one of the most popular decisions NBC has ever made.”

“I didn’t have sisters, but you guys [are the] sisters that I never knew that I needed,” Melvin said to Guthrie and Kotb. “I’m beyond excited and grateful.
