Plot: A woman plagued by nightmares of a demon tries to rid herself of these bad dreams with the help of a friend and a dream interpreter.
Review: Back in the early days of his company Full Moon, Charles Band produced and directed a film called Meridian, which was basically an erotic horror take on the Beauty and the Beast fairy tale. Band’s son Alex (you might know him from the hit songs he made with his band The Calling) has said that one of his earliest memories is of being on the set of one of his dad’s movies and seeing “a woman having sex with a giant rat”. That had to be Meridian… and there are more problematic elements to that film than just the idea that little Alex Band was running around on set and seeing things he shouldn’t have seen. Thirty-plus years later,...

Stars: Lucas Sequeira, Jonathan Stoddard, Daniela Palavecino, Eileen Dietz, Robert Lasardo, Roslyn Gentle, Vernon Wells, Devanny Pinn, Vicki Gunvalson | Written and Directed by Kelton Jones
Of the Devil sees actor Kelton Jones return to the directors’ chair five years after helming his disturbing first feature, Dry Blood. This time around he’s working from a script he wrote based on an idea by James Cullen Bressack.
The film opens in the basement of a nightclub. A group of devil worshippers slice open a young woman and remove something that looks like a shark’s tooth-shaped cocoon from her body. In the next scene, the item is hidden in the corner of a fence. A bright blue butterfly of the species “CGIus Obvious” flutters around it and a young boy named Alex (Lucas Sequeira; In the Death Room) is playing on the other side of the fence.
The butterfly lands on the boy’s finger,...

Every month there always seems to be a new horror anthology released and Tales From the Other Side is one of the latest. A very low budget one but that is something I’m used to and anthology horror is something I generally enjoy so I was happy to give this a go.
Featuring one wraparound segment and six ‘tales’ there’s plenty to see here. So let’s get straight into the first proper tale. ‘Petrified Boy’ at least starts off with some kind of creepy story about a touring circus and its main attraction – the petrified boy. The problem is the...

Title: Suing the Devil Director: Timothy Chey Starring: Malcolm McDowell, Bart Bronson, Shannen Fields, Rebecca St. James, Tom Sizemore, Corbin Bersen, Ros Gentle Pablum would be a step up for “Suing the Devil,” an inane, moralizing Australian production from writer-director Timothy Chey that centers around a lawsuit against Satan. Aiming for some theoretical sweet spot between comedy, courtroom drama and Up-with-Jesus! sermonizing, this poorly sketched and dreadfully acted movie can’t even be saved via an attempted personality transfusion from a ranting, raving Malcolm McDowell, in the title role. Still wrapped up in grief over losing his mother to a drunk driver, a down-and-out Sydney law school student, Luke O’Brien (Bart Bronson), decides to file a suit [ Read More ]...

On the heels of a new national poll, that reveals 60% of U.S. Christians do not believe in the devil, comes the highly-anticipated movie that many pastors and Christian leaders are saying is one of the best Christian films in a decade.
