Disco icon Gloria Gaynor has revealed in a recent interview that she doesn’t identify as a feminist.

“The biggest misconception about me? Hmm,” she told Metro. “It may be dangerous to say this, but… that I’m a feminist.”

In the interview, Gaynor explained that her relationships with the men in her life inform her rejection of the feminist label. “People say it to me, ‘And since you’re a feminist…’ Erm, no. Not really. I love men… I grew up with five brothers, and I love men.”

She continued, “I love men who know who they are and are strong enough to take their place, but also strong enough to recognize a woman’s strengths and who are able to allow her to exercise those strengths and realize that we are to be partners and not opponents.”

Exclusive: Lifetime’s Gloria Gaynor biopic has cast Tony Award winner Joaquina Kalukango in the leading role as the Queen of Disco. Kalukango and Gaynor serve as executive producers. Lance Gross (Tyler Perry’s House of Payne) will also star as Gaynor’s husband, Linwood Simon, in I Will Survive: The Gloria Gaynor Story from Robin Roberts Presents.

The movie will air in 2025 as part of the network’s Voices of a Lifetime slate, which features the previously announced titles, Mary J. Blige’s Family Affair and Can You Feel the Beat: The Lisa Lisa Story.

In the middle of Black Box Diaries, journalist Shiori Ito’s debut documentary, Ito grins at the camera as she strolls through downtown Tokyo on the day of her book launch. It’s October 18, 2017. The New York Times broke the Harvey Weinstein news two weeks ago. Alyssa Milano popularized the hashtag #MeToo two days ago. Ito, fresh-faced and 28, happily recounts these events to the camera. The world may finally be ready to listen to her.

It’s hard to imagine a time before the #MeToo genie was let out of its bottle, but that’s what Ito asks of viewers as they journey back with her to 2015, when she says she was raped by a senior journalist with connections to then-president Shinzo Abe. Through an incredible amount of personal documentation––primarily videos, audio recordings, and journal entries––she grants viewers unprecedented access into her experience as a woman seeking justice for sex crimes in Japan.

Norby Walters, a music agent who worked with Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Marvin Gaye, Kool & the Gang and Public Enemy before gaining renown in Hollywood for his annual “Night of 100 Stars” Oscar party and weekly poker game, has died. He was 91.

Walters died Dec. 10 of natural causes at an assisted living facility in Burbank, his son, producer Gary Michael Walters (Whiplash), told The Hollywood Reporter.

Walters hosted his first Oscar night gala in 1990 and the last in 2017, most often inside the Beverly Hilton’s Crystal Ballroom. Among those who attended were Shirley Jones, Robert Forster, Charles Bronson, Patricia Neal, Richard Dreyfuss, Eva Marie Saint, Martin Landau, Louis Gossett Jr., J.K. On Wednesday night, a week after the conclusions of a 27-show outing through Europe, Madonna resumed her tour with a performance at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, the first of three sold-out shows.

At her Celebration Tour, Madonna reflected on her remarkable 40-year career in pop music and a health scare she experienced earlier in the year.

She told the crowd, “It’s so great to be back in New York. You have no idea. The enthusiasm, the joy, it’s just coming out of my pores. It’s amazing.”

The Celebration Tour faced setbacks when Madonna, 65, was hospitalized earlier in the year due to a severe bacterial infection, which led to the postponement of her North American dates.

Her joy at being back on stage was palpable.

Madonna has officially launched the U.S. leg of her The Celebration Tour and we have the setlist from opening night.

The legendary entertainer performed a sold-out show at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. on Wednesday night (December 13) and she added a special song to the set list for the New York City crowd.

The tour launched in London back in October and the start date for the tour was delayed by several months due to Madonna‘s hospitalization earlier this year for a serious bacterial infection.

Madonna‘s setlist for the tour includes more than 25 songs, some of which had not been performed onstage in decades.

It’s been over a month since Madonna began her Celebration Tour in Europe and fans in North America won’t have to wait much longer.

On December 13, Madonna will be back in her home country to perform at the Barclays Center in New York. She’ll then continue to perform for the United States, making a few stops in Canada in between her U.S. tours before making her way to Mexico in mid-April.

The journey to her world tour has been long as Madonna had to reschedule her whole tour when she was hospitalized in June for a bacterial infection.
