Steven Fromholz was born on June 8, 1945 in Temple, Texas, USA. He was an actor and writer, known for Past Hondo, Cloak & Dagger (1984) and Outlaw Blues (1977). He was married to Jenny Louise Wilmeth and Janey B. Jones. He died on January 19, 2014 in Eldorado, Texas, USA.
While he was serving in the United States Navy during the 1960s, he began performing.
In 2007 he was named as Poet Laureate of Texas.
He was president of the folk music club at North Texas State University (now University of North Texas).
Graduated from Denton High School in Denton, Texas in 1963. Following graduation he enrolled in North Texas State University (now University of North Texas) in Denton, Texas.
He died from an accidental gunshot. He was moving a rifle from a vehicle when it slid out of its case and fired when the stock hit the ground.
