Fashion is something that means a great deal of things, different to each person. To some it’s just stuff to wear as you go about your day, to others it is a way to express one’s self and to others it is a great art form that deserves serious cultural and sociological respect and admiration. And that doesn’t even touch the world of shoes and footwear.
To many, shoes are the ultimate fashion statement. Some may see them as just things to cover your feet during the day, but to many they are art pieces that are more deserving than any of a high price tag. With some shoes reaching into the thousands of dollars and coming from the most respected of designers, who are the people that not only are able to afford these pieces, but dedicate much of their life to collecting them like film fans do Blu-ray releases?...

Independent films may be "the hottest ticket in town," as the name of the PGA’s Produced By Conference panel this afternoon proclaimed, but it's still very much a buyers’ market in which the rewards are often other than financial. Oscar-nominated producer David Friendly, who recently made his first a foray into documentary films with Sneakerheadz, said that the project was "all consuming" and "very gratifying," but noted that when he added up all the hours he'd spent…...

Amy Schumer and Bill Hader in TrainwreckPhoto: Universal Pictures With Sundance just wrapping up and Berlin starting up in a few days, we are now immersed in the year-long barrage of film festivals. One such festival in South By Southwest. A few weeks back they announced the first seven films of their program, including the opening night film Brand: A Second Coming. Today, they have revealed the rest of the features to be shown in March (except for the midnight program), and some of it has me very excited. The bigger titles announced do not do much for me. Paul Feig's Spy, starring Melissa McCarthy, and the Will Ferrell/Kevin Hart starrer Get Hard leave a lot to be desired in terms of anticipation, as does a work in progress cut of Judd Apatow's latest film Trainwreck. I'm guessing an Apatow work in progress is probably around three and a half hours.

South by Southwest, the multi-faceted film, music and technology festival held annually in Austin, TX will feature such upcoming films as Paul Feig’s Spy, David Gordon Green’s Manglehorn, Alex Gibney’s documentary Steve Jobs: The Man in the Machine, and Ondi Timoner’s Russell Brand profile Brand: A Second Coming as headliners in this year’s film festival lineup.
SXSW runs from March 13 to 21 in Austin and is now in its 22nd year. Variety has details of the 145 films and 100 world premieres bowing at this year’s festival. Brand, as previously reported, will be the festival’s opening night film.
Other notable titles on the list are the Will Ferrell/Kevin Hart comedy Get Hard, a rough cut of Judd Apatow’s Trainwreck, the directorial debut of 28 Days Later screenwriter Alex Garland, Ex Machina, and a new comedy by Michael Showalter, Hello, My Name is Doris.

Audiences will see Pierce Brosnan get back into action mode this weekend with The November Man (and there's already a sequel on the way), but that's not the only action he'll be seeing on the big screen. The former James Bond is set to star in I.T., another thriller set up at Voltage Films with A Good Day to Die Hard helmer John Moore attached to direct. But it sounds like there won't quite be as much action as either of their recent projects since the story follows Brosnan as a publisher whose relationship with a young I.T. consultant sours, causing the young man to use technology to threaten his family, business and life. Deadline reports the script originally comes from Dan Kay, based on an idea from David T. Friendly and his Friendly Films banner.
