The team behind Evil Dead: The Game has taken to social media today to tease a new Dlc update that teases more than a new demon on the way.
The game’s official account tweeted, “We’ve been hiding something in the cellar, and it’s not Henrietta.”
No other information has been provided as of yet, but the quick clip gives just enough of a peek at the faceless characters to piece together what we might expect when the Dlc arrives. And it appears to be centered around “Ash vs. Evil Dead.“
The brief tease indicates we might look forward to new skins for playable survivor characters Ash Williams in Ashy Slashy asylum mode (pictured above), Amanda Fisher, and Pablo Simon Bolivar. The remaining two figures bear an uncanny resemblance to Ash’s dad Brock Williams (played by Lee Majors) and season two villain Baal (played by Joel Tobeck...

During the past two episodes of Ash vs Evil Dead, there were moments in which I caught myself wondering when the show would go full-blown, all-out horror again like it did at the end of its first season. The first episode of Ash vs Evil Dead sees the return of Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell) re-introduced with a mistake by him. Reading from the Necronomicon to impress a date he brings about the return of the Deadites once again. Only this time, with the help of Pablo (Ray Santiago) and Kelly (Dana Delorenzo) Ash must find a way to finally end the Deadite threat. While all the time being pursued by Special Agent Amanda Fisher (Jill Marie Jones) and the mysterious Ruby (Lucy Lawless).

Up until now, Ash Vs Evil Dead has been a stellar ride. Here's hoping it ends its first season in style...
This review contains spoilers.
1.9 Bound In Flesh
Who is Ash Williams? An awesome anti-hero and masterful killer of deadites, but what about outside of that? It’s a question the first season of Ash Vs Evil Dead has touched on occasionally, but it came to a head tonight with the Necronomicon’s entirely on-point statement that without evil to slay, Ash isn’t very much at all. A boorish, loudmouthed, slightly racist bagboy. For the first time this week the show seemed to be making the suggestion that perhaps Ash doesn’t really want the Necronomicon destroyed. His reluctance to hand it over to Ruby was pretty strong evidence of that being the case, and honestly, it makes sense. That’s not to suggest Ash is...

Ash vs Evil Dead, Season 1, Episode 9, “Bound In Flesh”
Written by Rob Wright
Directed by Tony Tilse
Airs Saturdays at 9pm (Et) on Starz
There’s no time for grief or reflection on the latest episode of Ash vs Evil Dead, “Bound In Flesh.” Last week featured a somewhat shocking moment when Jill Marie Jones’ series regular Amanda Fisher found herself on the wrong end of some deer antlers. Amanda’s death was framed in a particularly brutal, mournful way, which makes the fast-paced, goofball tone of this week’s episode all the more jarring.
Ash (Bruce Campbell) has no time to grieve Amanda, nor does he even have time to deal with his newly born evil doppelgänger, because before the opening title card has splashed across the screen, Bad Ash is dead, blown away by Kelly and Pablo after an amusing back-and-forth to determine who is the real Ash.

One great thing about being a cast member of AvED is even when you’re seemingly-main character is unexpectedly slaughtered, you know you get a second act as a Deadite. And so Amanda Fisher, who turned on a dime from adversary to love interest to dead meat, is of course back as a Deadite, roaming the woods ready to spread the pain from Ash, Pablo and Kelly to the suspiciously sexy Australian campers, who might as well be wearing t-shirts that say “bait”. But before we get to Fighting Fisher, we’ve got to resolve the tale of two Ashes. Kelly and Pablo make it back to the cabin to find Fisher with a gutful of antler. The two Ashes crash through a wall and sock it out on the floor in front of them, setting up a classic “I’m the real me!” bit. Pablo and Kelly getting to...

There was plenty of nostalgia for Evil Dead fans in this week's stellar Ash Vs Evil Dead, which went back to where it all began...

1.8 Ashes To Ashes
Well, I guess any speculation about this show marking time until the end of the season was dead wrong. Ash Vs Evil Dead dropped us right into the chaos at the cabin this week, and had there been a wait, it would have been worth it. Ashes To Ashes was a dark, violent (surprise, surprise) oddly emotional episode of Ash Vs Evil Dead, despite one major issue.
I can’t believe that the return of the iconic cabin from the original films is not actually the biggest point of discussion this week, but such was this episode. Still, there was plenty of nostalgia for long time Evil Dead fans in seeing Ash return to his first battleground,...

Gimme some sugar baby, This is what I’m talking about. This “Fire in the Hole” has everything and no dead space (heh heh). A high-octane balance of jokes, corniness, and gore, with enough intrigue and peril to give everyone something to do, build out the world a little, and keep the whole thing moving smoothly. “Fire in the Hole” builds off the momentum of last week’s “Killer of Killers” (Michael Hurst returns with more crackerjack directing), and offers all the same zippy dialogue and fun little character moments of last week with even more evenly paced (and evenly toned) scenes of blood and scares.Having earned the trust of Amanda Fisher, Ash and crew head out into the woods of Michigan to stock up on “some big boy toys” from Lem’s militia before they head back to The Cabin Where It All Began. Easily one of the best new television series of this year is Ash vs Evil Dead which airs every Saturday night at 9:00pm Est/8:00pm Cst on the Starz Network. Ash vs Evil Dead, Season 1, Episode 5, “The Host”
Written by Zoe Green
Directed by David Frazee
Airs Saturdays at 9pm (Et) on Starz
Ash takes a step back and Pablo takes the lead in “The Host”, the latest episode of Ash vs Evil Dead. This turns out to be a mixed blessing. On one severed hand, Ray Santiago’s performance as Pablo has been consistently enjoyable since the series began and seeing him receive more focus this week doesn’t disappoint. Yet on another demonic hand, this show needs Bruce Campbell’s Ash. No matter how hokey or uneven Ash vs Evil Dead can become, Campbell never fails to elevate things with his performance. Indeed, Campbell seems to have a better handle on the Ash of Ash vs Evil Dead than he ever had in the Evil Dead films, almost as if all the years of waiting to play the...

Ash vs Evil Dead, Season 1, Episode 3, “Books from Beyond”
Written by Sean Clements
Directed by Michael J. Bassett
Airs Saturdays at 9pm (Et) on Starz
“Bait”, the second episode of Ash vs Evil Dead, was an exciting course correction for the series after a disappointing premiere. But declaring Ash vs Evil Dead a success based on that episode might have been premature. This week’s episode, “Books from Beyond”, is a quick, weightless oddity that tries to pack a bunch of elements into a brief 30 minutes, and doesn’t quite succeed. Ash (Bruce Campbell) and his new friends Pablo (Ray Santiago) and Kelly (Dana DeLorenzo) (a group Pablo has now dubbed “The Ghost Beaters”, much to Ash and Kelly’s chagrin) head off to Books from Beyond with hopes of finding something in the Necronomicon to stop the recently unleashed evil forces. Ash vs Evil Dead, Season 1, Episode 2, “Bait”
Written by Dominic Dierkes
Directed by Michael J. Bassett
Airs Saturdays at 9pm (Et) on Starz
The premiere of Ash vs Evil Dead left this reviewer a little cold. The tone of the episode felt too wonky, the prospect of sustaining the introduced story over a series of half-hour episodes seemed dubious, and the general creepy but humorous charm of the first two Evil Dead films had given way to the full-blown Three Stooges-esque mayhem of Army of Darkness. So the second episode, “Bait”, being is a vast improvement in every conceivable way is a great surprise and relief . What makes this all the more unexpected is that this is the first episode without Evil Dead mastermind Sam Raimi directing or writing. Has Raimi been out of the Evil Dead game for so long that he just didn’t quite know how...

Ash vs Evil Dead, Season 1, Episode 1, “El Jefe”
Written by Sam Raimi, Ivan Raimi, and Tom Spezialy
Directed by Sam Raimi
Airs Saturdays at 9pm (Et) on Starz
Ash Williams is back, and he’s still spitting out catchphrases and firing off his boomstick in Ash vs Evil Dead. In 1981, Sam Raimi and friends headed into the woods armed with moxie and buckets of fake blood and created The Evil Dead, birthing a cult horror franchise in the process. The Evil Dead garnered the occasional chuckle due to its bargain basement budget, but Raimi and company were going for pure horror with the film. However, fans of the franchise tend to forget—or intentionally ignore—this fact, because Raimi followed up The Evil Dead with Evil Dead II, which took the narrative into full-blown Three Stooges territory. Hero Ash, played by Bruce Campbell, went from a hapless college student who...

I was lucky enough to attend the premiere of Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell's Ash vs. Evil Dead last night at the Chinese Theater in Hollywood. They screened the first episode, and it was everything that I hoped it would be and more! Don't worry, though, I won't spoil anything for you.
As a longtime fan of this franchise, it was amazing to see Ash back in action kicking Deadite ass! I had high hopes for this series, and it delivers the hilarious badassery that fans of the franchise are expecting. Like the movies, this series has the perfect mix of comedy, horror, action, and bloody gore galore. I had an absolute blast watching this first episode, and there were laugh-out-loud moments all the way through it.

Badass was the word of the evening at the Paley Center’s Ash vs. Evil Dead panel hosted by Vulture's very own Abraham Riesman last night. One of its stars, Jill Marie Jones (Sleepy Hollow), plays Amanda Fisher, a Michigan state trooper hot on the trail of Ash Williams, a role reprised by Bruce Campbell. “She’s a super-badass, and one of the things that attracted me so much to this role is the three female leads are all kickass. They’re not waiting on a man to save them. It’s like, You know what? I got this,” Jones told Vulture on the red carpet. “And I love that about it: They’re all strong characters, and that was very attractive to me.”Dana DeLorenzo plays Kelly Maxwell, a clerk at the store where Ash works, and while she starts off hating him, she eventually becomes the female version of him.
