Windy Wilkin’s Death on the Border is a thought-provoking movie that forces you to contemplate one of the real dangers and problems of society: child trafficking. It’s common knowledge that scores of young girls and children are trafficked every year. These young girls are forced into prostitution or are sold to high-paying clients. Death on the Border isn’t entirely fictional but draws inspiration from real events. This makes Windy Wilkin’s film all the more haunting, realizing the ordeal all those women and girls had to go through. At the beginning of the film, Maddy (Shannon Elizabeth) is picked up by a child trafficker who is smuggling young girls over the border. The trafficker tried to force himself on Maddy, but she killed him with the gun she was hiding in her boots. Maddy freed the girls and asked one of them to drive until they were safe.

“I am heartbroken about the loss of the incredible Sonya Eddy. I truly loved her not only as an actress, but as a friend. On behalf of the entire Gh cast and crew, we send our deepest sympathy to her family, friends and fans. She will be very missed.” Frank Valentini, “General Hospital” executive producer, said in a statement.
Eddy joined the long-running hospital drama in 2006 as the frank, no-nonsense nurse, and played the role for 543 episodes, appearing as recently as this past October. The character served as head nurse, and was the mother to Stan Johnson...

Cinemax has kicked things up a notch in the "skin"emax realm with a new anthology show called Femme Fatales (from the creators of the magazine of the same name). The episode, entitled "Angel & Demons," features two police detectives, Wright (Ellie Cornell) and Judson (Kiko Ellsworth), desperately searching for a serial killer known as the Grim Reaper who stalks a fourth victim on the mean streets of Cuesta Verde - but the killer's identity is not what it seems. Here are some pics...and a random shot of...

However, a few miles along their journey, the fellow's car breaks down, causing the group to have to hike through the hills in search of shelter and help. They happen upon an isolated farmhouse, which at first seems abandoned. They take it upon themselves to camp out in the barn for the night, only to be greeted by the Stauton family in the morning. This odd bunch consists of the the mother, grandmother, and a mentally challenged adult boy. At first, the family is nice (except the boy, who takes a hammer to one of the traveler's face for saying Hi to him...

As his father continues to attempt to rejuvenate his seemingly never-ending “Dead” series, Cameron Romero follows up his debut “The Screening” with another slice of familiar horror in “Staunton Hill”. Although this may sound a little cynical, the film really is pretty basic stuff, being a by the numbers “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” knock off, with youngsters being chased and killed by psychotic rednecks in the rural backwoods. Still, Romero shows himself to be a better director than most, and the film benefits from a decent cast of half recognisable faces, if not names, including Cristen Coppen (“Road Trip”), David Rountree (“XXX2”, and who also scripted), Kiko Ellsworth (from the television series “Heroes” and “Dexter”) and Charlie Bodin (briefly in “Transformer”). The plot is familiar to say the least, set in Virginia in the autumn of 1969 and following five student types who are hitchhiking their way across country to the political rallies taking place in Washington.

A synopsis for "Staunton Hill" can be found here:
"When a group of hikers take off for a weekend of fun and adventure in a remote mountain region, they unwittingly stumble across the Staunton family, for whom the hill is named, and find themselves at the mercy of a depraved, diabolical brood that will stop at nothing to rid their property of these "trespassers." The only law on Staunton's Hill is the law of the Stauntons...and, in this case, the penalty for defying that law is death.
