Original member of Def Leppard since inception (1977). A trio,
originally known as "Atomic Mass" included bassist Rick Savage, lead
guitarist Pete Willis, and drummer Tony Kenning. Joe Elliott took over the band as lead vocalist and renamed the rock outfit Deaf Leopard in 1977.
Started making posters for a then fictional, band named Deaf Leopard
until meeting Pete Willis, Tony Kenning, and Rick Savage, of Atomic
Mass. The band then became Def Leppard, when Sav changed the spelling.
Formed a side band with members of The Quireboys to form the Down 'N' Outz. They play and record songs by Mott The Hoople.
