Is a member of Mensa International, the largest and oldest high IQ society in the world.
Insisted that her witch-character in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016) was left-handed, as left-handedness has been associated with dark magic and sorcery for centuries. Ejogo suggested to create emphasis on her dominant left-hand by adding rings to it. Costume designer Colleen Atwood loved the idea and several rings were created from scratch.

Has two children with her now ex-husband Jeffrey Wright: Elijah and Juno Wright.
Before becoming a successful actress in films and television, she used to present children's television on Saturday mornings with former Blue Peter presenter Stuart Miles.
