Hard @ Work
D. Scott Easton was born in San Francisco, the son of Bud & Mary Alice Easton, a 4th generation San Franciscan. The family moved across the bay to Hayward. His father started a chicken-raising business as a hobby and then went full-time and moved the family to the west-side of Fresno to start a 125,000 chicken ranch. He attended Culver Military Academy & then UCLA. While helping a Producer exercise his race horses on the ranch next door, Mr. Webb got him into the Screen Extras Guild to work during the summers starting in 1966. His 1st job was on "The Graduate".

After the 5th attempt to pass the Asst Directors Training Program, he finally got in - Class of 1976.

His big break came when he was select as the Trainee on Alan J. Pakula's "Comes a Horseman": "Meteor" followed that and he graduated from the ADTP to become a 2nd 2nd AD during the shoot;

Next break selection was the Key 2nd AD on Arthur Hiller's only attempt at a horror film, "Nightwing"! Then came "Brubaker" & "Raise The Titantic" when he was upgraded to 1st AD on the 2nd Unit!

Michael Crighton selected him for his full-time 1st AD job on "Looker".
