Eric Clapton’s friends and collaborators discuss the rock legend’s anti-lockdown stance — and defend him against allegations of racism — in a new report.
Following a string of anti-vaccine and anti-lockdown tracks, Rolling Stone detailed Clapton’s descent from just speaking about his vaccine skepticism to actually bankrolling it.
Clapton’s associates are similarly perplexed by his recent stance, with many labeling Clapton as largely apolitical. “He’s the anti-Bono,” Clapton’s former label manager Bill Oakes told the Washington Post. “He is the epitome of someone who is there for the music,...

In what appears to be his latest salvo against Covid-19 vaccinations and the lockdown, Eric Clapton has surprise-released a new single, “This Has Gotta Stop,” with an accompanying animated video that also addresses climate change disaster.
A bluesy shuffle, “This Has Gotta Stop” appears to reference some of the medical issues that Clapton said he experienced after receiving an AstraZeneca vaccination earlier this year with what he claimed were “disastrous” results: “My hands and feet were either frozen, numb or burning,” he wrote at the time. As he sings in “This Has Gotta Stop,...

Available this week, a three song EP titled Prayers, featuring a collaboration of multi-grammy award winning singer, songwriter and producer Joe Walsh and preeminent classical Sarod virtuoso and composer Amjad Ali Khan.
Joe Walsh Collaborates With Amjad Ali Khan On Prayers
Sonically the difference between rock and roll and classic Indian music could not be bigger – and it was exactly that which compelled them: what would happen if they came together and let their instruments do the talking? The result is music that is truly collaborative, and unlike any Joe has ever created, infused with a spiritual feel, fittingly titled Prayers.
Net Proceeds will go to Intrahealth International.
The two first met while Joe was visiting India. After playing together at the Taj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai (at the suggestion of Amjad’s son) Joe invited them all, Amjad and his two sons, to come to Los Angeles and record...

Eric Clapton and B.B. King’s 2000 collaborative album Riding With the King will be reissued for its 20th anniversary with two previously unreleased tracks on June 26th via Reprise Records.
One of those rarities was shared along with the album announcement, a rendition of the blues standard, “Rollin’ and Tumblin’.” The song was arguably made most famous by Muddy Waters in 1950, although it’s been interpreted by an array of artists, including Clapton and his band Cream on their 1966 debut, Fresh Cream. As a member of Radiohead since their founding 35 years ago, Ed O’Brien has seen more commercial success and critical acclaim than roughly 99 percent of people who have ever picked up a guitar. But when he finally gathered up the courage to start writing and recording music on his own, he truly wasn’t sure if he could produce anything worth releasing.
“My role in Radiohead is one of serving the song,” he says on the phone from his home in Wales. “It’s one of serving’s Thom [Yorke]’s songs and Thom’s lyric.

Radiohead guitarist Ed O’Brien has released a nine-minute video for his song “Brasil,” which will appear on his debut solo LP some time in early 2020. The trippy film, directed by Andrew Donoho, shows people all over the globe uniting as one after some sort of extraterrestrial phenomenon touches down on the planet.
“H.P. Lovecraft, [Stanley] Kubrick, and Junji Ito have created some of my favorite sci-fi narratives,” O’Brien said in a statement. “But I’ve always wanted to reinterpret their horrific premises into a more poetic and optimistic notion.

You're hung over. You want good streaming options now. You don't want to move. Let us do the work for you. Check out the best of new Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu below. Netflix "Mean Girls" If you didn't spend enough of 2014 commemorating the 10th anniversary of this gem, make a resolution to re-watch it first thing in 2015. Still Amy Poehler's funniest role to date. Happy hour's from four to six! "Friends" (Complete series) Lisa Kudrow > Courteney Cox > Jennifer Aniston > Matthew Perry > Matt LeBlanc > David Schwimmer. That is the only thing I know about this life. "Election" There is plenty to cherish about this movie, specifically that Reese Witherspoon is exactly the right kind of terrifying as Tracy Flick, but let's just remember the days of Chris Klein as an august young movie star who represented the flip-haired bravado of the class of '99. After being released from his contract with Arista Records, Taylor Hicks refuses to back off from music industry. Believing that "this is turning the page on a new chapter" in his career, he forms a record label Modern Whomp Records. Taking the advantage of "artistic freedom," he is back to studio, making music for his new album "The Distance" and plans to release it across U.S. on March 10.
In the new album, Taylor steps behind songwriting table, co-penning several songs including "Wedding Day Blues", "Seven Mile Breakdown", "Once Upon a Lover of Mine" and "Woman Gotta Have It".
