Burkhard Driest was born on April 28, 1939 in Stettin, Pomerania, Germany [now Szczecin, Zachodniopomorskie, Poland]. He was an actor and writer, known for Querelle (1982), Annas Mutter (1984) and Cross of Iron (1977). He was married to Bettina and ???. He died on February 27, 2020 in Berlin, Germany.
His appearance on a talk show where actress Romy Schneider flirted with him
publicly, without knowing him before, became German TV history
(1974).
Hyper-virile, tall, square-shouldered, rough-faced athlete who gave
almost the impression of a Neandertaler - so he was predestined for
roles as sturdy criminal or racket (despite that he was no educated
actor, indeed).
Has two children, Julian and Johanna.
Wrote the libretto for the musical "Falco meets Amadeus" (2000).
