A decade ago, director James Ward Byrkit brought us a surreal, Twilight Zone-ish sci-fi thriller called Coherence (watch it Here), which JoBlo’s own Eric Walkuski gave an 8/10 review you can read at This Link. Now Deadline has revealed that Byrkit and It’s What’s Inside producer Kate Andrews are teaming up to develop a follow-up of some sort to Coherence! As Deadline notes, “Plot details are being kept under lock and key — including whether the new film will be a prequel, sequel, or a different story entirely.”

Byrkit crafted the story for the first film with Alex Manugian, coming up with the following set-up: Eight friends at a dinner party experience a troubling chain of events due to the malevolent influence of a passing comet.

In The Vampire Diaries, Jenna Sommers, played by Sara Canning, was Elena and Jeremy's appointed guardian after their parents died in a car accident. Jenna was never told about the supernatural world until it was too late to save her. Her character had immense potential, both as a human and a vampire. She was especially important in Elena's life.

With a host of different characters through its eight-season run, The Vampire Diaries inevitably failed some characters. As we head into the summer, TV Fanatic will be grading and reviewing a number of the small screen's biggest hits. First up: The Vampire Diaries.

What did we think of its first season? Who was its best character? Where do we hope it goes next year? Read on. Fine out. Chime in.

Best Character: Damon Salvatore. This will likely be the easiest choice we make on any show's evaluation. Ian Somerhalder simply owned this role, having a blast with Damon's snarky, sarcastic side - but deftly transitioning to serious and vulnerable when called for. Emmy voters will never even look at a CW show, but they should make an exception in this case.

Worst character: Caroline. This is more by default by anything. We had to choose someone.

Executive producer Kevin Williamson has confirmed that Clarke's Kelly Donovan will jump right into the sack with everyone's favorite, devious blood-sucker: Damon Salvatore. \
