After originally telling Collider's own Samantha Coley that he didn't know whether his spiteful Doctor Whovillainwould return in the currently-airing Season 2 of the timey-wimey series, it seems that Jonah Hauer-King's co-star, Millie Gibson, has now confirmed his inclusion in the upcoming two-part finale, setting in motion the ever-turning wheel of speculation from within the Whoniverse's fanbase. This comes following the pair's involvement in the most recent episode, "Lucky Day," which saw Ncuti Gatwa's titular Time Lord take a back seat and Gibson and Hauer-King, alongside Unit, take center stage.
In an episode of the BBC series The One Show, Gibson confirmed Hauer-King's involvement, saying, "I can say that Jonah comes back – the battle is not won." She continued, "He comes back and Russell [T. Davies] has written an amazing script, as always. I come back as well and I'm reunited with the Doctor and Belinda, played by Varada Sethu.

Millie Gibson teases Ruby Sunday's next appearances inDoctor Who season 15 and weighs in on the unraveling mystery of Mrs. Flood (Anita Dobson). After traveling with the Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) throughout Doctor Who season 14, Ruby settled down on Earth with her newly expanded family in the finale. However, as she waits for the Time Lord's return, Ruby finds herself facing a far more sinister human threat at home in the show's latest episode, "Lucky Day," that could undermine everything she, the Doctor, and Unit fight for.
As Gibson sat down with ScreenRant to unpack her latest Doctor Who appearance, the star confirmed that, despite needing time away from adventuring following "Lucky Day", Ruby will return in the two-part season 15 finale. The star also praised Dobson's performance as Mrs. Flood, teasing that even she was taken by surprise at her true identity. Check out Gibson's full response below:

Doctor Who is no stranger to shocking twists, but the most recent episode "Lucky Day" had one no-one saw coming. Conrad Clark (Jonah Hauer-King) seemed like such a nice guy, but he was actually one of the most revolting villains the show has ever known.
It turns out that current Doctor Ncuti Gatwa was just as shocked about the Conrad twist as the audience was. His season one co-star Millie Gibson, who made her triumphant return to the show as Ruby Sunday in "Lucky Day," revealed all in an interview with Screen Rant. Like so many of the people watching, Gatwa thought that Conrad was just too nice to be a bad guy.
“Even when we did the read-through, I remember Ncuti being like, ‘I don't think I've had a chance to read this episode...’" Gibson remembered,. "We were just turning the pages until I heard Ncuti's reaction. I'll never forget it.

This article contains spoilers for "Doctor Who" season 2, episode 4 -- "Lucky Day."
Even during the cheesy and heartfelt Disney+ era of "Doctor Who," the show often highlights humanity's worst traits. It has introduced multiple toxic masculinity-themed villains like the power-hungry politician Roger ap Gwilliam (Aneurin Barnard) -- who's not-so-subtly coded as a domestic abuser among his other awful traits -- and Belinda Chandra's (Varada Sethu) possessive ex-boyfriend Alan Budd (Jonny Green). After "Doctor Who" season 2 brought back the show's most terrifying one-off monster, "Lucky Day" returns to the toxic masculinity well with a particularly malevolent and all-too-realistic example: Tiktok influencer Conrad Clark (played excellently by Jonah Hauer-King), an opportunistic content creator who'll sacrifice anyone on the altar of fame and fortune.

Britain goes wild for the Eurovision Song Contest every year, and it also goes wild for Doctor Who. So what better idea than to combine the two?
Ncuti Gatwa will be appearing on British TV not once but twice on Eurovision night.First, he'll be starring in the show's first ever Eurovision-themed episode, titled "The Interstellar Song Contest," and then he'll pop up as Britain's spokesman once the real song contest gets underway. He'll be listing off the points that Britain is giving to other countries in the hotly (and hilariously) contested fight to be Eurovision champion.
"The Interstellar Song Contest" will be notable for featuring Graham Norton, who's long been the voice of Eurovision in the UK, and household-name TV presenter Rylan Clark. Showrunner Russell T Davies told the BBC when Norton was cast, “There’s no song contest without the great man himself, and it was an honor...

Sometimes the best ideas come in the middle of the night, sometimes they're also the most bonkers ideas. That's how, apparently, the idea for an upcoming episode of Doctor Who Season 15 came about. The upcoming episode "The Interstellar Song Contest" was written by author Juno Dawson. Dawson talked with SFX Magazine in a recent issue about how the upcoming Doctor Who episode came about. She says that "Russell [T. Davies] is a workhorse who doesn't seem to need sleep, he emailed me at about 1:30 in the morning." She adds that:
"I didn't see it until my alarm went off at 7am," Dawson continued. "Like any modern person, the first [thing] I did was check my phone – like an addict. And I had this email saying, 'Die Hard meets Eurovision. What do you think?'"
"I handed the phone to my then-husband, and I was like, 'Am I imagining this?' He was just like,...

This article contains spoilers for "Doctor Who" episodes "Midnight" and "The Well."
One of the best episodes of "Doctor Who" is season 4's "Midnight." A tightly written, atmospheric masterpiece produced on a shoestring budget, "Midnight" has stuck in viewers' minds for so long because it denies them closure. The Doctor has to face off against an alien he can't see, whose origins he doesn't know, and never discovers. The creature can only be observed when it possesses the bodies of the people around the Doctor, and it's defeated not by the Doctor's usual genius but by the surprise sacrifice of an unappreciated flight attendant.
Half of the appeal of this monster is how unknowable it is; it's sobering to learn that there are still things in this universe the Doctor can't handle. And the longer "Doctor Who" went without a sequel to "Midnight," the better the episode got. The show's willingness to embrace the mystery,...

The newest episode of Doctor Who, called Lux, had very low overnight ratings. Only 1.58 million people watched it on BBC One on Saturday night, 19th April. This is the lowest number ever for the show. It’s also the first time the overnight viewers dropped below 2 million.
This is a big drop from last week’s episode, The Robot Revolution, which had about 2 million viewers. Lux was only the fourth most-watched show on BBC One that day. It came behind News at Ten, Casualty, and Blankety Blank.
But there’s more to the story. These numbers only count people who watched the live TV broadcast. Many people now watch shows later on BBC iPlayer, or on their phones, tablets, or smart TVs. Those full numbers, called “consolidated ratings,” will come out later.

Doctor Who hits strong form with Lux, a clever, witty outing for Ncuti Gatwa and Varada Sethu, from the pen of Russell T Davies. Review here.
This review contains spoilers. Our review of the previous episode is here.
I’m still trying to go into as many Doctor Who episodes as blind as I can at the moment, knowing the episode title at most, and trying to avoid next time trailers, or reading synopses. I did, however, know that Lux was to feature an animated character, and my head was mildly torn. Was this the money poured into the show since Disney popped along unlocking an idea that’s been bubbling around? Or did the money come first, and the idea second?
45 minutes later, I’m firmly voting for the former.

Doctor Whois back, and Ncuti Gatwa's titular Time Lord has returned to the helm of his Tardis for more timey-wimey adventures. The mystery surrounding Mrs. Flood (Anita Dobson) continues, new and exciting planets are ready to be explored, and The Doctor has a brand-new companion by his side, Belinda (Varada Sethu). However, it seems that, despite all this, many people can't quite shake the feeling that they don't like seeing the hero crying. Yes, Gatwa's incarnation of the sci-fi icon is much more attuned to his emotions than other iterations, but while the walls of toxic masculinity are breaking down, there has been no better time for this change.
Never one to stay quiet on such a topic, showrunner Russell T. Davieshas weighed in on the issue, offering his reasoning behind this character decision in an interview with TVLine. Firstly, Davies admitted that the teary-eyed performance was a choice by Gatwa,...

Doctor Who Series 15 (or Season 2) has finally premiered, introducing fans to the Doctor's newest companion, Belinda Chandra. Episode one ended with a simple demand: Bring this new companion home. Unfortunately, something is repelling the Tardis from landing in 2025, prompting them to take another way back. Thanks to the latest images, we can glimpse the first stop.
Episode 2 of Doctor Who Season 2 is titled "Lux." In it, the Doctor and Belinda travel to 1952 Miami as they investigate the disappearance of 15 people from the Palazzo Picture Palace. These latest images feature Ncuti Gatwa and Varada Sethu, dressed in 1950s fashion, and meet Reginald Pye, played by Linus Roache. It seems he might play a role in aiding the show's next foe, Mr Ring-a-Ding, played byAlan Cumming, as he's seen managing the movie reels at the back of the theater. Based on the images, he is holding one movie reel that is really close.

Doctor Who returns, Ncuti Gatwa and Varada Sethu star, with The Robot Revolution getting us started. Lots of spoilers here.

Ncuti Gatwa’s second season run as the Time Lord gets down to business in relatively quiet fashion then with The Robot Revolution. It’s from the pen of showrunner Russell T Davies, and – as had been widely trailed – Millie Gibson’s Ruby Sunday is left behind (for now) as Belinda Chandra, played by Varada Sethu, is set to travel along with him.

With the same Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) and a new companion (Varda Sethu), Doctor Who kicks off another fun season. Russell T. Davies keeps pushing the series to utilize its big Disney budget, and “The Robot Revolution” certainly takes advantage of that. With great practical effects, sleek cinematography, and even good makeup, it’s a fun adventure to kick off a Doctor Who season. However, this companion has already started to shift things in the usual Doctor/companion dynamic, making us hopeful for the exciting season ahead.

When Millie Gibson’s Ruby Sunday made her debut proper as Doctor Who’s latest companion in last year’s ‘Space Babies’, we were met with a bright-eyed, bushy-tailed northern lass in awe of her two-hearted, Ncuti-Gatwa-shaped time-travelling Bff: a veritable Rose Tyler for the TikTok generation, ready for adventure. The Tardis’ newest passenger, however, Belinda Chandra (played by Andor’s Varada Sethu), is decidedly not another Ruby Sunday. Instead, she’s an overworked, underappreciated, fiercely autonomous NHS nurse who’s over the Doctor’s “How clever am I?” shtick before he’s even started it — and all the more brilliant as a result. And in this series’ premiere, ‘The Robot Revolution’, she brings a healthy shot of cynicism to Who that helps make an otherwise classically daffy Russell T Davies season opener something more than the sum of its parts.

While excitement is higher than ever for tomorrow's premiere episode of Doctor Who Season 2, the show seems unable to shake off swirling discussion about its future following a reported drop in ratings over recent years. Although many factors have led to this viewership decline and, by other metrics, viewing figures still remain impressive, nothing can stop the rumor mill from turning and leaving the folks behind the series with no choice but to comment.

The exciting return of timey-wimey space adventures might be set for tomorrow, but the ever-giving folks at Doctor Who are still providing the Whoniverse with exciting news. Today, it has been officially confirmed that the one and only Graham Norton is part of the upcoming Season 2 cast, aptly set to feature in the upcoming season's sixth episode, "The Interstellar Song Contest." A parody of the beloved Eurovision Song Contest, which will air once again on the same night as this sixth episode, "The Interstellar Song Contest" will also feature another favorite host from across the pond, Rylan Clark.
Speaking about Norton's exciting addition to Season 2, showrunner Russell T. Davies said, "There’s no song contest without the great man himself, and it was an honour to welcome Graham Norton to our studios in Cardiff. And it’s not just a cameo, he has a whole plot twist all to himself!

New season, new companion. Doctor Who returns with its (third) second season on Disney+ on Saturday, April 12, with Ncuti Gatwa continuing to play the Doctor. But while Millie Gibson is still going to be part of the show as Ruby, the Doctor’s going to have a new companion with him. Varada Sethu, who guest starred in the first season, is back as a new character, Belinda Chandra, whom the Doctor is actually looking for, as showrunner, executive producer, and writer Russell T. Davies told TV Insider after the 2024 Christmas special. Once they meet, the two begin an epic quest to get her back to Earth. But that’s easier said than done since a mysterious force is stopping their return. Below, Davies teases what’s ahead — and yes, we will be getting answers finally about Mrs. Flood (Anita Dobson). The Doctor Who series has been known for its mysteries, and that is one of the most appealing aspects of the franchise as a whole. Each showrunner brought something of their own to their run, and Russell T. Davies is no exception.
Among the more interesting mysteries of his run is the enigmatic Mrs. Flood, a strange old lady who definitely knows more than she should, or even could know. She debuted earlier, but Davies teases a much bigger role for her.
Played by Anita Dobson, Mrs. Flood is a character whose fourth-wall-breaking and debut “haven’t you ever seen a Tardis before?” line caused a stir among the fans, and Davies teases some major revelations for her in the upcoming season.

Doctor Who will return to our screens in a matter of days. On April 12 to be exact. In the upcoming second season of Doctor Who, Andor star Varada Sethu returns to the series as the Doctor's new companion, Belinda Chandra.
Sethu recently caught up with Radio Times (via SFFGazette.com) and shared her thoughts on fans saying the long-running sci-fi series has gone "woke" with its inclusive casting (which has been at the forefront since Russell T. Davies returned to the show).
"Woke just means inclusive, progressive and that you care about people," she said. "And, as far as I know, the core of Doctor Who is kindness, love and doing the right thing."
The fact Sethu, who is British-Indian, is being paired with lead star Ncuti Gatwa means Doctor Who season 2 will be the first time two people of color have piloted the Tardis together since the series' creation.
"Ncuti was like, 'Look at us. We get to be in the Tardis. We’re going to piss off so many people,...

Doctor Who star Varada Sethu has addressed her whirlwind casting as the show's newest companion. The Andor star will play Belinda Chandra in Doctor Who's upcoming second season.
Sethu previously appeared in Doctor Who's first season episode "Boom" as the Anglican Army soldier Mundy Flynn but will be playing a completely different character in the show's season run. Belinda gets stuck in the Tardis with the 15th Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) and is forced to work with him in order to get back home.
Varada Sethu Opens Up About Casting Process for Doctor Who Return
Speaking to The Radio Times, Sethu confirmed that she received an offer out of the blue in October 2023 about returning to Doctor Who. She said that the unexpected offer came at the perfect time because she had just lost another job due to the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes in America.

Doctor Who's latest era has seen the iconic sci-fi series partner with Disney amid much backlash. Chief among the backlash has been those complaining the show has gone "woke," with a surprising number of viewers somehow missing the progressive trends that the series has boasted ever since its 2005 revival. Nevertheless, such criticism has proved unwavering, with the countdown to the upcoming Season 2 marred by the same hoards of negative commenters across social media.
Well, in an interview with Radio Times, the show's brand-new companion, Belinda, portrayed by Varada Sethu, has hit back at these comments, suggesting that the "woke" nature of Doctor Who is what makes it such a popular and inclusive show. "There's been a couple of Doctor Woke [references] or whatever," Sethu remarked, "but I just think we're doing the right thing if we're getting comments like that." She continued, "Woke just means inclusive, progressive, and that you care about people.

Only a few weeks remain until the next installment of Doctor Who enters Disney+. Starring Ncuti Gatwaas the Fifteenth Doctor and Russell T. Davies as the series showrunner, this next installment will feature eight new episodes and a new companion. Now, we know what these new episode titles are called, hinting at what's to come in this "wibbly wobbly, timey wimey" British science fiction series.
According to the official Doctor Who website, Season 2's episode titles are "The Robot Revolution," "Lux," "The Well," "Lucky Day," "The Story & The Engine," "The Interstellar Song Contest," "Wish World," and "The Reality War." While the plot for most of these episodes remains unknown for the time being, it is safe to assume that the sixth episode takes inspiration from The Eurovision Song Contest. According to The Mirror, the episode in question is said to be the "most expensive" in the sci-fi series' 62-year history.

Disney+ has shared a new trailer (via SFFGazette.com) for Doctor Who season 2 and it picks up with the Doctor and his new companion, Belinda Chandra, as they adventure across time and space.
From a futuristic 51st century to the 803rd Interstellar Song Contest to becoming animated characters, a first for the long-running sci-fi series, this next batch of episodes look like a lot of fun.
There's a great deal of intrigue surrounding Belinda, particularly as actor Varada Sethu played a different character, Mundy Flynn, in season 1. We expect that mystery to factor into this second batch of episodes along with the continued speculation surrounding Anita Dobson's Mrs. Flood.
In a new Radio Times interview, showrunner Russell T Davies touched on the speculation surrounding the show's future while reflecting on the 20th anniversary of its 2005 revival.

Two seasons deep into this newest iteration of "Doctor Who," 15 since the revival series first kicked off, and a whopping 26 since the franchise first arrived back in 1963, the beloved sci-fi/fantasy series is about to go where it never has before: into another medium entirely. Ncuti Gatwa's casting as the newest Doctor and Varada Sethu's as the newest companion Belinda Chandra were both instant hits, but it wouldn't be proper "Who" without an unexpected twist or two. This time around, the joint BBC/Disney production is getting animated on us -- literally.

Back in 2019, it was announced that Ben Wheatley would be writing, directing, and executive producing Generation Z, a “hilarious, frightening, and political” series that would consist of six hour-long episodes that would “mix flesh-eating zombies into a story that satirizes how Brexit has divided the UK.” That project didn’t make it into production when it was originally supposed to because of the pandemic shutdown… but after making Meg 2: The Trench (you can read our review at This Link and check out our interview with the filmmaker Here), Wheatley circled back around to Generation Z. The show started airing on Channel 4 last October… and now, it has been confirmed that it will not get a second season.
Deadline broke the news that Generation Z has been axed because, while the network was “understood to have had high hopes for the show and it was touted at the Edinburgh TV Festival,...

Davies' second rodeo as showrunner on the world's longest running sci-fi series. For a tantalising look at Fifteenth Doctor Ncuti Gatwa's upcoming adventures in time and space, featuring new companion Belinda Chandra (Varada Sethu), still-pretty-new companion Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson), and a whole bunch of guest stars (Jonah Hauer-King! A new companion has entered the Tardis as Doctor Who returns for Season 2.
In the first trailer for the sophomore season of the BBC and Disney+’s latest reboot of the sci-fi franchise, Ncuti Gatwa’s The Doctor is joined by Belinda Chandra (Varada Sethu), who aptly notes that she’ll go by ‘The Nurse’ in response to her new pal’s introduction.
“There is something already connecting us,” he tells her as we get a glimpse of Belinda in another time and place, where she’s an intergalactic soldier.
This season follows the pair on an epic quest to get Belinda back to Earth. But a mysterious force is stopping their return and the time-traveling Tardis team must face great dangers, ferocious enemies and wilder terrors than ever before.
The Doctor teases, “There are forces beyond this universe. We think we are so clever, but we are like children.

Fans of Doctor Who have something exciting to celebrate! A brand-new trailer for Season 2 has just been released, giving us a closer look at what’s coming when the show returns on April 12th.
Even though we already knew about the cast, the release date, and some streaming details from Disney+, Doctor Who still had more to share. Showrunner Russell T. Davies and the team didn’t take the weekend off. Instead, they dropped the much-anticipated trailer on Sunday after teasing its release through the show’s “Subwave Network.”
The new trailer is packed with action and surprises, but one detail stands out. It hints at a connection between Varada Sethu’s new character, Belinda Chandra, and her previous role as Mundy Flynn in the Doctor Who episode “Boom” from Season 14. What does this mean for the story? Fans are already speculating!

It's a good day to be a Whovian. The trailer for season 2 of "Doctor Who" has just dropped, and it promises a lot of excitement, adventure, and some very sharp outfits for the Doctor to try out.
The trailer also introduces the newest companion, played by Varada Sethu of "Andor" fame. Although Sethu's character will be reportedly named Belinda Chandra in this season, she introduces herself here as "the Nurse." It seems to be her cheeky way of making fun of the Doctor's vague, somewhat self-important name for himself, but it also hints at what her job is before she joins the Tardis.
It appears that Sethu will not be playing Mundy, the soldier she played in last season's "Boom." Given the trailer's brief shoutout to Mundy, however, it seems like the two characters will definitely be connected. The trailer also promises the return of previous companion Ruby (Millie Gibson), as well as Mrs.
