Zap2it: On A&E Network's "Psycho" prequel, "Bates Motel," you play Dylan Massett, the older half brother of teen Norman Bates. What sort of a guy is he?
Max Thieriot: He's a rough, kind of mysterious country boy, who just came from working on a fracking crew up in North Dakota. He shows up on his motorcycle. He's been through a lot; he's weathered. They play up all my scars on the show, make them look like they're more [than they are]. But I have a bunch of scars on my forehead and eye.
Zap2it: Where did they come from?
Max Thieriot: I wish I could say cooler things. One of them was riding a dirt bike into barbed wire, over my eye. The other eye was from surfing; I was in Panama. The other one is not so glorious. I was lifting weights, and I dropped a weight on my head.

Behind-the-scenes drama continues on the set of The Walking Dead, as a new report confirms that AMC executives have flown to the set in an attempt to calm down tension after the firing of showrunner Frank Darabont:
“AMC president Charlie Collier and head of original programming Joel Stillerman on Thursday flew to Atlanta for a one-day visit to the production offices of The Walking Dead, where they met with a cast and crew roiled by the abrupt firing of showrunner Frank Darabont.
Sources say the Walking Dead cast and crew have been unhappy since late July, when they were summoned to a lunch meeting with AMC vp scripted programming Ben Davis, who confirmed that Darabont was out. A source says some on the production of the hit zombie drama had been asking that Collier or another high-level AMC executive “go and own up to this, and they delayed for the last week.

Sometimes reality can be uglier than anything a filmmaker can conjure up for the big screen, and some new information on Frank Darabont's departure from the AMC series, "The Walking Dead", is sounding pretty hideous. Get ready for the most depressing news of the year.
According to The Hollywood Reporter when Frank Darabont appeared on a Comic-Con panel July 22 to promote "The Walking Dead", he didn't realize he was a dead man walking. Neither did the cast and crew. Everyone was shocked when news broke three days later that AMC had taken the extraordinary step of firing Darabont from the network's biggest ratings hit.
In hot, sticky Atlanta, where production on the second season had been under way since June, the cast was summoned to a lunch meeting with AMC vp scripted programming Ben Davis, who confirmed that Darabont was out. The crew was briefed separately. One insider says...

The departure of Frank Darabont from The Walking Dead TV Series was shock, mainly because they were in the middle of filming the second season and there were no signs of this coming at the Comic-Con panel he attended a few days earlier.
From a recent story that provides new details, it looks like Frank Darabont didn’t know he was leaving the show either during Comic-Con. Apparently AMC fired him with little warning, and despite reports, the cast and crew are having a difficult time adjusting.

When we first heard that Frank Darbont was no longer a part of the AMC hit TV series The Walking Dead, We had very little information to go off of. It was revealed at the time that he simply stepped down as the zombie series showrunner, with reports saying that he grew tired of the daily commitment of running the series. Apparently that wasn't the case, and I think we all knew something more sinister was going on behind the scenes, and it was.
Frank Darabont did not step down, AMC fired him. It looked like everything was going great at Comic-Con this year. Darabont showed up to promote the the series, of course at the time he had no idea what was brewing in the background, and that three days later he would be fired. Him leaving the show shocked the hell out of everyone, especially since The Walking Dead...
