Match #1: Nxt Women’s Champion Triple Threat Match – Roxanne Perez def. Lyra Valkyria and Tatum Paxley The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The Nxt Women’s Championship remains with “The Prodigy” Roxanne Perez as the champion retained her title in impressive fashion against both Lyra Valkyria and Tatum Paxley in a Triple Threat Match. The bad blood between former friends Valkyria and Paxley sparked a major battle between the two to begin the match, all while the champion looked on and smiled. Once Perez entered the fray, the action became chaotic as all three Superstars threw caution to the wind, punctuated by the demented Paxley tossing both of her opponents hard to the ringside area.

Fans of Marcus King might get a bit of a surprise when they throw on his new record. The South Carolina native built his success on his double-barrel growl of a voice and roiling, capacious guitar crunch, which placed him squarely in the Southern jam-band tradition. King’s last LP, 2022’s Young Blood, was a rugged set of Seventies guitar rock recorded with artisanal throwback specificity at Dan Auerbach’s Easy Eye Studio in Nashville. On his new one, King pairs with another production titan, Rick Rubin, who helps him...

J.K. Simmons has joined the cast of Jason Reitman’s SNL 1975, and not only will the Oscar winner be playing Hollywood legend Milton Berle, but he’ll have the notable distinction of becoming the first actual SNL host to join the cast of the Sony movie.
Simmons hosted the Jan. 31, 2015 episode of Saturday Night Live, which featured D’Angelo as the musical guest. At the time, Simmons was riding high off an Oscar nomination for Whiplash, and he would go on to win the Academy Award following his SNL hosting stint.
Meanwhile, Berle hosted SNL on April 14, 1979, and Ornette Coleman was his musical guest. It’s unclear where Berle fits into Reitman’s movie at this moment in time.

Match #1: Asylum Match – Dijak def. Joe Gacy The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Dijak vanquished Joe Gacy in a brutal Asylum Match, but the deranged Gacy still managed to send shivers down the Nxt Universe’s spine even in defeat. With weapons all around the ring, the two rivals massacred each other inside the ring with the likes of steel chairs, fire extinguishers, tool boxes, and so much more. After tossing Gacy off of the top rope onto a trash can, Dijak scaled the cage and hit a gravity defying moonsault from atop the structure, but not even that was enough to win the match. If you like movies about empty-headed dips and their resentful families, then National Lampoon's "Vacation" movies certainly have you covered. Clark Griswold, played by Chevy Chase, is an exemplar -- perhaps the Ur-example -- of a clueless dad obsessed with fulfilling the typical American suburban dream despite a general lack of wit or competence. Clark claims to be an expert in everything, assuring his family that everything will be fine, and yet he displays no acumen or skill, and his family repeatedly witnesses him fail. We sympathize with Clark, however, as many of his failings are the result of bad luck; Clark isn't very good at traversing the daily onus of trivial nonsense, but the world seems cosmically hellbent on punishing him for his incompetence.

Jonathan Majors’ ex-partner, Grace Jabbari, continued her testimony Wednesday with her account of injuries she said were caused by Majors during an altercation in March and answers as to why she was not immediately forthcoming to police.
Majors faces four charges of misdemeanor assault, aggravated harassment and harassment after police responded to a 911 call on March 25 and Jabbari claimed the injuries came from Majors. The Marvel actor has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
It remains unclear whether Majors will testify in the trial, which is expected to last two weeks. He spent most of Jabbari’s testimony seated with his defense attorneys, looking downwards, with his current girlfriend, Meagan Good, and family members sitting behind him.
In her testimony Tuesday, Jabbari said the March 25 incident began after midnight, when Majors and Jabbari were in a private car home and she observed a text message on Majors’ phone. The alleged...

In another plot twist, artificial intelligence start-up OpenAI, the parent company of ChatGPT, said that co-founder Sam Altman was set to return as its CEO after days of drama following a showdown between him and the company’s board that fired him.

One of the funniest and most imaginative sequences in the new Hulu comedy “Quiz Lady” involves drugs, dogs and… talking clouds?!
In the film, anxiety-riddled Anne (Awkwafina) and her sister Jenny (Sanda Oh) devise a scheme to pay off their mother’s gambling debts and rescue their dog, who has been held for ransom by debt collectors.
Jenny suggests Anne audition for “Can’t Stop the Quiz,” a trivia game show that Anne has watched religiously her entire life. But when they get to the auditions, Anne’s anxiety kicks into overdrive and she sweats uncontrollably. Jenny offers her a relaxant to power through the question round. As the drugs kick in, Anne is transported to a Teletubby-esque meadow as “Watermelon Sugar” by Harry Styles plays.
It then cuts to the real world, where viewers see Jenny horrified at what she’s done.

On November 3, 2023, Hulu released “Quiz Lady” starring Awkwafina and Sandra Oh as sisters who band together to eliminate their mother’s gambling debts and raise money to pay the ransom for a kidnapped dog. In order to do so, Anne’s (Awkwafina) uncanny skills at gameshows must come into play. The ensemble cast includes Jason Schwartzman, Tony Hale, Will Ferrell and Holland Taylor.
Critics have had positive things to say about the comedy directed by Jessica Yu and written by Jen D’Angelo. It is certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with a score of 81%. The critics consensus reads, “‘Quiz Lady’s’ perfectly matched leads help Jessica Yu’s occasionally uneven comedy overcome its periodic wobbles and land on the right side of hilarious and heartfelt.” Read our full review round-up below.

“Quiz Lady” scribe Jen D’Angelo said she was inspired by the game shows she watched growing up — particularly “Jeopardy!” and its charismatic host, the late Alex Trebek.
In the new comedy feature, Awkwafina plays Anne, a young woman obsessed with the long-running game show “Can’t Stop the Quiz.” She enlists the help of Jenny (Sandra Oh) — her estranged, wannabe actress sister — to help cover their mother’s gambling debts. When Anne’s beloved dog is kidnapped by debt collectors, they hatch a plan to have Anne get on “Can’t Stop the Quiz” and win the cash prize, if she can get over her social anxiety and adoration for host Terry McTeer (Will Ferrell).

Writer Jen D’Angelo got her start working on episodes of shows Workaholics, Cougar Town, and Young Rock, and now she’s on a streak of successfully getting her feature scripts brought to the screen. She wrote the long-awaited sequel Hocus Pocus 2, the time travel slasher Totally Killer, and the newly released comedy Quiz Lady – and next on her to-do list is Hocus Pocus 3. D’Angelo has previously teased that the new sequel could bring Hannah Waddingham back as her Hocus Pocus 2 character The Witch Mother, and during an interview with Collider she also gave a hint as to what could bring the Sanderson Sisters back into action, seeking revenge against Salem.
D’Angelo said, “I have my theories about what we could see (in Hocus Pocus 3), and what things mean and where we could take these characters. It’s interesting to be like, ‘Now we have even...

Disney announced earlier this year that Hocus Pocus 3 is definitely happening, with Anne Fletcher (Hocus Pocus 2) returning to direct and Jen D’Angelo back to write the script.
But what’s the status on Hocus Pocus 3, now that we’re one year removed from the premiere of Hocus Pocus 2? D’Angelo provides a fresh update to Entertainment Weekly.
“We’re still in the story phase, we’re still working on it. We’ve been working on some ideas, and it’s been fun to dive back into that world and we have so many directions in which to go and so many new characters to explore,” D’Angelo tells the outlet. She continues, “We’ve only scratched the surface of Hannah Waddingham’s mother witch.”

It took nearly three decades, but the highly anticipated "Hocus Pocus" sequel finally arrived last year, just in time for Halloween. But there's even more good news for longtime fans of the spooky franchise: a third movie is officially in the works at Disney. That's right, Walt Disney Pictures president Sean Bailey shared the announcement himself in a New York Times profile published on June 4.
The publication noted that "Hocus Pocus 3" is, indeed, happening, while Bailey discussed the 50-plus movies in development and production at the company - which include upcoming live-action versions of "Moana" and "Lilo and Stitch."
No other details about the third "Hocus Pocus" were revealed at the time, including whether or not all the Sanderson sisters - Winnie (Bette Midler), Mary (Kathy Najimy), and Sarah (Sarah Jessica Parker) - will return to reprise their roles. However, screenwriter Jen D'Angelo dropped some hints in an October interview with Entertainment Weekly,...

“Ted Lasso” Emmy-winner Hannah Waddingham made her “Hocus Pocus” debut in the second installment, released in 2022 on Disney+. She played Mother Witch, a sinister woman who gifts the spell book to the young Sanderson sisters. While Waddingham’s return in “Hocus Pocus 3” is not officially set,...

Match #1: Devil’s Playground Match – Roxanne Perez def. Kiana James The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Wearing Freddy Krueger inspired ring gear, Roxanne Perez channeled her inner demons to conquer Kiana James in a Devil’s Playground Match. Weapons and chaos engulfed the ringside area as playground equipment was used in the most unholiest of ways, paving the way for Perez to hit a Pop Rox on the outside to pick up the victory.

If last year’s Time Skiffs left you wanting more from Animal Collective, you’re in luck: the band have shared another new album called Isn’t It Now?, out today via Domino.
Like many artists, Animal Collective’s plans were changed when the pandemic hit. The experimental band wrote about 20 songs before the world went into lockdown, and Time Skiffs comprised nine compositions Avey Tare, Panda Bear, Deakin, and Geologist were able to record separately to a click track. They saved nine more, however, for Isn’t It Now?, longing to work together in the same room.
The band teamed with Russell Elevado for the project, recording its songs in late 2021 before road-testing them on tour in 2022. Featuring the 22-minute long single “Defeat,” Isn’t It Now? marks Animal Collective’s longest record to date. Pre-orders for physical formats are ongoing, and you can stream the album via Apple Music or Spotify below.

After Jenny’s dog is taken by gangsters as collateral to pay off the debts, the duo embark on a cross-country road trip to make Anne a game show celebrity contestant.

Can’t see the lines, can ya, Russ? It wasn’t just Chevy Chase and his video camera that wanted a glimpse of Beverly D’Angelo in the shower in National Lampoon’s Vacation, but also her onscreen son, Anthony Michael Hall, who recently fessed up to trying to sneak a peek while she filmed her brief nude scene.
Attending Fan Expo Chicago (via EW) with fellow castmates D’Angelo, Randy Quaid (Cousin Eddie), Dana Barron (Audrey Griswold), and Christie Brinkley (the unforgettable Girl in Red Ferrari), Hall – who was just 14 while filming National Lampoon’s Vacation – was called out by his onscreen sister for once trying to spy on D’Angelo. Hall cut her off, saying, “So, I got busted because I tried to sneak onto the set when Beverly was doing the shower scene.” D’Angelo seems to take it all in stride, though, saying, “I get a lot of guys who...

The collectible makers at Funko have created a large line of Pop figures based on Hocus Pocus 2. There are, of course, all three Sanderson sisters, but also the new characters Cassie, Becca, Izzy, and Gilbert. Surprisingly, a new Billy Butcherson figure isn’t in the line-up. But there is The Witch Mother – and while the other Hocus Pocus 2 POPs will be available wherever POPs are sold, the Witch Mother figure will only be available through the Funko website. So if you want to get your hands on this one, head over to Funko.com before all the Witch Mother figures are sold!
ThatHashtagShow informs, “The Witch Mother plays a brief but significant role in the Disney feature Hocus Pocus 2. The character, portrayed by Ted Lasso’s Hannah Waddingham, meets the Sanderson sisters when they’re still children. Sensing witchy potential in young Winifred, the Witch Mother gives the sisters their iconic spellbook.

“National Lampoon’s Vacation” star Anthony Michael Hall admitted at Fan Expo Chicago (via Entertainment Weekly) that he got caught trying to sneak onto the set of the 1983 comedy classic in order to see his co-star Beverly D’Angelo film a nude shower scene. Hall joined D’Angelo and fellow cast members Christie Brinkley, Randy Quaid and Dana Barron at the event. He stars in the comedy as Rusty Griswold, the son of Clark (Chevy Case) and Ellen (D’Angelo).
During the conversation, which had to be limited due to the actors’ inability to talk about filming specifics because of the SAG-AFTRA strikes, D’Angelo and Brinkley said fans continue to come up to them to talk about watching their nude scenes in the movie.
“I get a lot of guys who say I was the first boobs they saw,” D’Angelo said.

Match #1: Lyra Valkyria def. Jacy Jayne The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Lyra Valkyria was able to prove WWE Women’s World Champion right as she got her groove back and defeated Jacy Jayne in a bitter grudge match. Jayne looked poised to once again walk out with the win, but Valkyria dug deep and channeled the fighting spirit of her Irish ancestors, put Jayne flat on her back, and hit a perfect diving splash to earn the victory.

Game shows have been a staple of the world's television-viewing diet since the medium's infancy. "Spelling Bee" first hit the British telly in 1938, while "Truth or Consequences" made a one-off debut on New York City's Wnbt in 1941. Our fascination with smarty pants contestants flaunting their vast trivia knowledge brought us the high-stakes duo of NBC's "Twenty-One" and CBS' "The 64,000 Question," which led to the 1950s quiz show scandals.
Over a half-century later, we're still hooked on programs like "Jeopardy," "Wheel of Fortune" and "The Price Is Right." Some of these shows require contestants to be genuinely well-read; others ask people to be semi-knowledgeable about retail value and physically capable of spinning a big wheel. Regardless of the skill (or utter lack thereof) involved, there is something undeniably thrilling about watching a regular working stiff go on live television and win a decent chunk of change. Depending on the show,...

Bob Lee Swagger remains one of the most badass television characters ever.
The USA Network series, Shooter, was one of the finest, coming at a time when the cable network ran supreme with endless content for everyone's viewing.
With slick action sequences, subterfuge, and adrenaline-pumping thrills, the series, more often than not, was a must-see summer show for three seasons until its unfortunate cancellation.
TV Fanatic followed along with the journey from beginning to end with full coverage in our Shooter Reviews. It is still a perfectly binge-able series that you can stream on Netflix, at least until June 21, when Netflix loses the rights for it.
It bolstered an impressive cast led by none other than Ryan Phillippe. But where is the cast now? Let's find out!
Jaina Lee Ortiz - Angela Tio
Ortiz had a small arc during Shooter Season 2, guest-starring as Angela Tio, a sergeant Bob Lee served with during the Marines.

Another Hocus Pocus is in the works.
Sean Bailey, president of Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Production, confirmed in an interview with The New York Times that Hocus Pocus 3 is happening.
The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Anne Fletcher and Jen D’Angelo will be returning to direct and write, respectively, after collaborating on Hocus Pocus 2.
It comes as little surprise given the success of last year’s sequel, which set a record for an opening weekend by a movie on a streamer with 2.7 billion minutes viewed. Overall, the film landed at No. 5 on the most-streamed movies of 2022 with a total of 5.7 billion minutes viewed.
While the first film was not a box office hit, it became a cult hit over the years thanks to airings on basic cable.

The second Hocus Pocus took nearly 30 years to reach screens, landing on Disney+ last year. From the sounds of it, we won't have to wait quite as long for a third. In a new New York Times profile of Disney live-action production chief Sean Bailey, there is a small mention of the new movie headed our way.
Of course, there has been no official statement from Disney itself, with the movie still in development, and no guarantee it'll actually happen. Still, while the sequel didn't enjoy huge critical success, it did well for the company on Disney+ last October.
Screenwriter Jen D’Angelo hinted to Variety at a potential sequel that would showcase Omri Katz’s Max Dennison and Vinessa Shaw’s Allison Watts.
"We tried so hard to get the original cast back for cameos and then it just kept not working out for one reason or the other," D’Angelo told the trade magazine's site.

The Sanderson sisters will be returning to cause more wicked chaos with Hocus Pocus 3, 30 years after the original movie was first released.
Disney+ is developing another sequel to the film starring Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy and Sarah Jessica Parker. Sean Bailey, President of Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Production, confirmed the news in an interview with The New York Times.

A third “Hocus Pocus” film is officially in development, Walt Disney Pictures president Sean Bailey has confirmed.
In a profile with The New York Times, Bailey stated that “Yes, ‘Hocus Pocus 3’ is happening” when discussing additional upcoming live-action projects in development at the company.
“Hocus Pocus 3” comes after the success of the 2022 sequel “Hocus Pocus 2,” which saw Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy reprise their children-hungry witching roles. The sequel broke records amongst the Nielson Top 10 streaming charts, taking home the largest opening weekend with 2.7 billion minutes viewed following its Sept. 30 premiere. The Disney+ movie also became the most watched original film for Disney+ over the frame of the first three days of release.
Though not all original “Hocus Pocus” characters were featured in “Hocus Pocus 2,” screenwriter Jen D’Angelo hinted at a potential sequel that would showcase Omri Katz’s Max Dennison and Vinessa Shaw’s Allison Watts.

Though not all original “Hocus Pocus” characters were featured in “Hocus Pocus 2,” screenwriter Jen D’Angelo hinted at a potential sequel that would showcase Omri Katz’s Max Dennison and Vinessa Shaw’s Allison Watts.

Characters are finally moving forward following Billy's death.
But All American Season 5 Episode 19 revealed that these changes will impact those closest to them.
What isn't at all evident is what this will mean for next season on The CW's only renewed script series.
Where to start? Where to start?
How about Olivia, who has been vying with Spencer recently for the title of "most rudderless character."
Understandably, those two are grieving because they lost their father/father figure. Jordan is in the same boat, but he has made a faster turnaround, largely thanks to having Layla to lean upon.
Freshman Liv decided to embrace college life on All American Season 5 Episode 18. After getting involved with the Black Student Union at Gau, she discovered that the group had a social-justice-oriented Cultural Exchange Program.
It was apparent then the direction that Olivia's journey would take -- away from Spencer. That was confirmed...

The Yes Boys came out firing, trying to use the weapons that D’Angelo & Stacks brought to the ring, but The Family managed to isolate and brutalize Prince with sublime tag team maneuvers. D’Angelo & Stacks used all the weaponry to their advantage, including use some well-placed surfboards and kiddie pools to humiliate Pretty Deadly. On Aug. 13, 1995, The New York Times published an article about Method Man and Mary J. Blige's iconic hip-hop and R&b duet "All I Need," stamped the "No. 1 Summer Song of Love" at the time. The publication credited former Def Jam Recordings CEO Lyor Cohen for persuading the Wu-Tang Clan rapper to rerecord his original song (off his 1994 "Tical" album) with the queen of hip-hop soul, with Cohen giving a detailed account of how he allegedly did so.
Nowhere does the article mention former Def Jam A&r executive Drew Dixon, who says she's the real brains behind "hip-hop's greatest love song"; she was never officially credited for birthing the idea or for the literal groundwork she did to make it come to fruition.
At the height of Dixon's burgeoning career in the '90s, she oversaw...
