Brother of underground cartooning legend Robert Crumb and the late Charles Crumb, who inspired the artistic bent in his family. Son of Beatrice Crumb, uncle of Jesse Crumb and Sophie Crumb.

Was hospitalized after the release of Crumb (1994) due to a vitamin B-12 deficiency in his legs.

Brother-in-law of Dana Morgan (Robert Crumb's first wife; mother of Jesse) and later Aline Kominsky-Crumb (Crumb's second wife; mother of Sophie).
