As the entertainment space evolves and pushes further into the technology world, including virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and other experimental works, the Sundance Film Festival is continuing to debut some of the best examples of such crossovers as part of its New Frontier section. Every year, the section aims to “offer some of the most innovative independent production and experimentation at the crossroads of film, art and technology that is being created today.” For the 2018 edition of the festival, that will include an international slate of VR, Mr, and AI.
This year, New Frontier programming will encompass three venues, including the New Frontier Exhibition at Kimball Art Center (which will host immersive dance and cutting edge VR & Mr works as well as works involving Artificial Intelligence), along with New Frontier at The Ray, which will also include The Box at New Frontier at The Ray (a 40-seat mobile VR theater...

Howard Stern's normally jovial sidekick Robin Quivers was in no laughing mood after being involved in a hit-and-run Sunday (Aug. 14) near her New Jersey summer home.
Quivers explained what happened on Stern's satellite radio show earlier this week.
"This guy came out of a parking lot or some kind of side street like a maniac and he lost control of his car and he hit me," she says, adding, "He spun around in a 360 and hit me" The other driver smashed into into the driver's side of her SUV and driver quickly sped away, she says, except there was only one crucial error.
"He ran away ... the wrong way down a dead end street. That's how they [witnesses] got his license plate. Because he had to come back again," she says.
Police in Barneget Township, N.J., were able to track down the owner of the car, 50-year-old Robert Crockett.

To hear Robin Quivers tell it, her weekend car crash was a near-death experience. Howard Stern's sidekick was left literally quivering after another car smashed into hers then screeched off without a word. But in the end justice was served. Cops in Barneget Township, N.J., where Quivers owns a summer house, found and ticketed 50-year-old Robert Crockett after he allegedly slammed into Quiver's car and took off. Witnesses at the scene provided license plate info that led to Crockett getting nailed. He was ticketed for leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident, reckless driving and operating an unregistered vehicle. Quivers had been driving north on Route 9 on...
