The Big Brother 26 season appears destined for a shorter run than Big Brother 25.
With two Hollywood strikes happening, the BB25 cast played the game longer than any previous houseguests.
Jag Bains beat Matt Klotz on Day 100 of Big Brother 26, making it the longest season in history.
Since many scripted dramas and comedies at CBS — NCIS, FBI, Fire Country, etc. — were delayed in production, it left timeslots open for shows like Big Brother.
Now that the strikes have ended, CBS can return to its regular fall programming, and that’s exactly what they announced this week.
Shows like NCIS: Origins were added to the CBS primetime schedule, and many hit shows are returning for new episodes in September of 2024.
Big Brother 26 is likely a shorter season
As some fans may remember, the BB25 finale happened in November. The season ran from August 2 to November 9.

Big Brother 24 winner Taylor Hale shared some fun new videos about her relationship with Joseph Abdin.
Taylor and Joseph met as BB24 cast members, and it looked like they were developing feelings for one another.
An official showmance for Jaylor never panned out, mostly because Joseph was evicted during the infamous Split House twist.
As a reminder, the BB24 cast was split in half midway through the season, with half the players forced to live a week in the backyard.
Joseph recently posted a remark about his BB24 elimination, answering a query from host Julie Chen Moonves about the most memorable Double Evictions.
After playing Big Brother, Taylor and Joseph reunited in the real world, where they began a romantic relationship. The couple didn’t remain together but have stayed very close since then.

Cody won Big Brother 22 – taking home the $500,000 prize in a shortened season. He also returned for Big Brother: Reindeer Games this past winter.
Between his Big Brother appearances, Cody was also on the first season of The Traitors USA. Fellow Bb winner Rachel Reilly also appeared in that season.

A notable showmance was featured on the Summer 2017 season of Big Brother.
Jessica Graf, a VIP concierge from Los Angeles, and Cody Nickson, a construction sales representative from Texas, hit it off quickly.
There was romance in the air that season, as three relationships developed as alliances formed within the cast.
In addition to Jessica and Cody, Elena Davis and Mark Jansen also developed a relationship in the house.
They weren’t the only ones, as Raven Walton and Matt Clines also got close. This was also the summer where Paul Abrahamian from Big Brother 18 returned.
Would any of those relationships last once the cast stepped off the stage on finale night? Only one.

Unless your head is perpetually stuck between two pieces of bread, then you know how successful Gordon Ramsay is at creating cooking entertainment.
Whether it's the fierce team competition of Hell's Kitchen, the frightening details from restaurants across America on Kitchen Nightmares, or the three-level cooking adventure that is Next Level Chef, he's got a nose for transforming culinary delights into must-see TV.
But even if you are one of those folks who never escapes their own doughy existence outside the entertainment realm, you probably know about the Idiot Sandwich meme.
Although the meme has taken off like wildfire over the years, most people are unaware of its genesis. As it turns out, it was not Gordon Ramsay and a real contestant on one of his shows.
Who knew? Well, we did.

During the season finale of “Big Brother 25,” perennial host Julie Chen Moonves made a big announcement about an upcoming spin-off series. “Get ready for a brand new show from the ‘Big Brother’ universe. It’s called ‘Big Brother Reindeer Games,'” teased the Chen-Bot. “It’s a new game and a new set of rules, as legendary ‘Bb’ players return to compete to be the last one standing. Six action-packed holiday-themed episodes with special appearances from ‘Bb’ favorites — Jordan Lloyd, Derek Xiao and Tiffany Mitchell — as Santa’s Elves.”
Surprisingly, the “Big Brother Reindeer Games” cast members will not live in the “Bb” house and will not vote each other out. Instead, everything will be centered about competitions. In other words, get ready to hear “Let’s go!” a lot. All six episodes will be pre-taped prior to its debut on December 11, which means there will be no live shows and no live feeds.

Thirteen years after CBS’s “The Talk” aired its first episode, the daytime TV staple is still going strong. Created by actress Sara Gilbert, the popular series began as a motherhood-centric discussion program featuring six female co-hosts (aged 35-58) with entertainment backgrounds. Throughout its 14 seasons, the show has evolved to cover a broader scope of topics and has seen 16 full-time hosts come and go, with the current lineup including the first two male panelists. Scroll through our chronological photo gallery to find out more about all of these presenters and their extensive careers.
When “The Talk” debuted in 2010, its hosting panel consisted of Gilbert, Julie Chen Moonves, Sharon Osbourne, Leah Remini, Holly Robinson Peete, and remote participant Marissa Jaret Winokur. Following Osbourne’s departure in 2021, no original stars remained. Today, longest-serving host Sheryl Underwood is flanked by Amanda Kloots, Jerry O’Connell, Akbar Gbajabiamila, and Natalie Morales.

Plenty of “Big Brother” history was made Thursday night when host Julie Chen Moonves declared Jag Bains the Season 25 winner over runner-up Matt Klotz. The 25-year old from Omak, Washington became the first Sikh contestant to win the game after becoming the first member of the community ever cast earlier this year. He took home $750,000 when the jury voted 5-2 in his favor.
Heading into the night Jag had already set the record for most Power of Veto wins in a single season, with seven, but after winning the final Hoh competition (his third), he also became the biggest comp beast ever with a total tally of 10. The previous record was held by Janelle Pierzina with nine victories in Season 7.

The mustard seed’s power just ran out in the end. After surviving the block seven times on “Big Brother 25,” Felicia Cannon was evicted on Sunday in fourth place to become the sixth jury member after Jag cast the sole vote to evict. For a brief spell, it seemed like Jag would keep Felicia, the weaker competitor, over Matt, but he ultimately refused to betray his Minutemen and Mafia ally. And Felicia knew it.
“For whatever reason, it wasn’t meant for me to win and that’s why I was at peace. I knew I was leaving yesterday before the vote. I never even asked Jag had he made his final decision because I already knew,” she says in a pooled exit interview. “Every time I was up on that block, I knew if I was staying or going. I would get nervous, but I always knew I was staying.

Not even the faith of a mustard seed could save Felicia Cannon on Sunday night’s episode of “Big Brother.” The 63-year old real estate agent from Kennesaw, Georgia was evicted by a vote of 1-0 on Day 96 over Matt Klotz, making her the sixth member of the jury. After winning the final Power of Veto, Jag Bains decided to evict Felicia after giving some serious thought to axing his fellow “Minuteman” just days before the final. In the end, he held true to his alliance and will be joined by Matt and Bowie Jane on finale night.
“He really has a loyalty to Matt,” Felicia told host Julie Chen Moonves during her exit interview. “I appreciate that kind of loyalty. They were true friends in there. I was too, but they were connected from day one. There was something with them — I couldn’t bust into that.” Loyalty aside,...

Jag Bains made history on “Big Brother 25” Sunday night when he claimed his seventh Power of Veto, passing Michael Bruner‘s previous record of six he set just last year. Unlike Michael, Jag was able to secure a place in the season finale which will air Thursday, November 9 on CBS. After winning the Veto, the 25-year old from Omak, Washington cast the sole vote to evict Felicia Cannon. Next he will face off against Bowie Jane and Matt Klotz in the two-part final Hoh competition. The winner of that will decide who the jury votes for as the Season 25 champ and the $750,000 grand prize.
Other all-time Veto legends include Janelle Pierzina (Season 7), Daniele Briones (Season 8), Paul Abrahamian (Season 19) and Kaycee Clark (Season 20), who each won five times. See the full list in order of wins in our gallery above.

She had a nice run, but “Survivor” legend Cirie Fields became the 13th houseguest to exit the “Big Brother 25” house (and fifth to join the jury) when she was evicted by a vote of 2-0 Thursday night. The 53-year old surgical director from Walterboro, South Carolina was ousted on Day 93 over Felicia Cannon. Head of Household Matt Klotz had his target on Felicia, but Jag Bains and Bowie Jane had the voting power and saw Cirie as the bigger threat to their game.
“Absolutely not,” Cirie told host Julie Chen Moonves when she was asked if she ever felt safe. “Mecole was the pawn. You never want to be in a pawn position because typically the pawn goes home and I tried to impress that on Matt, but Jag has him. I really believe that Jag feels if anything goes awry, if I mess around and win the Veto or...

Mama Felicia or Mama Cirie: which of these fan-favorites was about to be evicted from the “Big Brother 25” house? Their downfall started when Matt Klotz won Head of Household and nominated both of them for eviction, despite telling them that Bowie Jane was his real target. So who ended up leaving the house in fifth place?

The November 2 episode of “Big Brother 25” will end with either Cirie Fields or Felicia Cannon being eliminated in fifth place. They were both nominated by Head of Household Matt Klotz earlier in the week, and after Matt’s ride-or-die Jag Bains won the Power of Veto, it essentially cemented his two nominations. But who’s going home?
