Angel Studios will release “Cabrini,” the new film from “Sound of Freedom” director Alejandro Monteverde, in theaters nationwide on March 8, 2024. The picture focuses on Francesca Cabrini (Cristiana Dell’Anna), an impoverished Italian immigrant who became a famous and groundbreaking nun.
“Francesca Cabrini is one of the most inspiring and influential figures in modern history, and yet few know her story,” stated Angel Studios chief operating officer Liz Ellis. “Faced with seemingly insurmountable life obstacles, Cabrini chose instead to focus on how she could change the status quo in her time, and her impact on the world is still felt today.”

The fire around Sound of Freedom still isn’t entirely out but already director Alejandro Monteverde has set up his next movie, the biopic Cabrini.
As per Deadline, Cabrini “tells the story of Francesca Cabrini, a poor, audacious Italian immigrant who became one of the great entrepreneurs of the 19th century. Through her willpower, courage, compassion, and business skill, she overcame sexism and violent anti-Italian bigotry while fighting against an establishment seeking to hold her back.” Alejandro Monteverde will again be teaming with Angel Studios, who released Sound of Freedom.

It’s time for the punks to meet the godfathers. The creators of SopranosCon merged with MobMovieCon for a family celebration. From July 23 to July 25, Harrah’s Resort & Casino in Atlantic City will house the boardwalk’s biggest gangster gathering since Nucky Johnson hosted the mob’s Atlantic City Conference in 1929.
“Al Capone will not be coming though,” VirtualCons CEO Michael Mota tells Den of Geek. “Those were the mobsters. I would say this would be the biggest gathering of mobster wannabes.” The Sopranos fan convention has come a long way since it was dreamed up by three gangster movie aficionados from New York, Maryland, and Rhode Island. The 2019 SopranosCon drew thousands of fans from as far as The Netherlands and the United Kingdom to the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus. The whole idea of big Sunday dinners in Italian homes may seem like a cliché, but someone’s pouring tomato sauce on top of onions and garlic fried in olive oil on stovetops every weekend. The Sopranos, both the series and the two families at the center of it, brought just desserts every Sunday night to homes across America. Although, Carmela (Edie Falco) had been known to show up at neighbors’ homes mid-week, unannounced, with ricotta pie. It is only fitting that the main setting of Celebrating The Sopranos are fine dining establishments.
Consisting of three separate films, Celebrating The Sopranos is a series of conversations held by critics Matt Zoller Seitz and Alan Sepinwall, and cast members Federico Castelluccio (Furio Guinta), Arthur J. Stars: Gabe Fazio, Augie Duke, Federico Castelluccio, Peter Greene, Kenneth McGregor, Daniel O’Shea, Boomer Tibbs, Ashley Jordyn, Tara Rose Schreiber, Lindsey Axelsson, Kevin Ebner, Cash Kortum | Written and Directed by E.B. Hughes
Written and Directed by E.B. Hughes (Turnabout), Exit 0 is dark psychological thriller that follows a young couple who attempt to salvage their relationship with a trip to the seaside, away from the hustle, bustle and noise of the city. Things don’t go as planned, however (when do they?), as the man, Billy, discovers a VHS tape in the hotel room dresser drawer containing an apparent murder. Then the tape goes missing and people struggle to believe what Billy is telling them. Oh dear.
The film has an immediate tension that I thought was taken hold of and built up well as things progressed. It’s not merely a murder-mystery story, but delves into psycho-thriller with the questioning of Billy’s mindset.

The gangsters on HBO’s classic mob series The Sopranos never shied from their charitable duties. That’s what Mafiosi have done since the very beginning of their loose organization. Tony Soprano’s crew took care of the blessed statue for the Feast of Elzéar of Sabran. The family’s pork-store front had a Satriale’s Christmas party tradition going all the way back to Tony’s father, who wore a Santa Claus suit himself to give back to the kids of the neighborhood. SopanosCon, the annual convention which celebrates the series, is no different. They announced SopranosCon Cares, a live benefit tele-con to benefit First Responders’ Children’s Foundation.
SopranosCon was slated to be a special segment of MobMovieCon, which was scheduled to take place at Harrah’s Resort and Casino in Atlantic City, on April 18, 2020. But the Covid-19 pandemic forced it, and all group gatherings to be postponed or cancelled.

“Someday soon, you’re gonna have families of your own and if you’re lucky, you’ll remember the little moments like this, that were good,” Tony Soprano told his wife and kids on HBO’s classic gangster series The Sopranos. Fans of the show will be able to share some of those recollections when SopranosCon Part II rolls into Harrah’s Resort & Casino in Atlantic City, N.J., a place where a grown man can make a wager. End of story.
Of course Tony was just talking with one of his families when he made that happy pronouncement. His other family, the organization he ran for this thing of theirs, was usually under orders to say they had no recollections of many events, especially when asked in direct testimony. That’s one of the rules that came down from the Five Families.

Furio Giunta goes from an associate to The Sopranos to a made man at MobMovieCon.
Federico Castelluccio hasn't been playing stupid games of golf since his Furio Giunta character took it on the lam from HBO's influential series The Sopranos. Welcome to the sixth installment of our summer trip through "The Sopranos" season 1. When I revisited early seasons of "The Wire," as well as the whole run of "Deadwood," I did separate versions of each review for newcomers and veterans, but over time realized that the newcomers weren't commenting much, if at all, and that it therefore made sense to simply do one review. Any significant spoilers for episodes beyond the one being reviewed will be contained in a separate section at the end of the review; so long as you avoid that, and the comments, you should be fine. Thoughts on the sixth episode, “Pax Soprana," coming up just as soon as I’m living next door to Gunga Din… “I love you. I’m in love with you. I’m sorry. It’s just the way it is.” -Tony One of the things I've most loved about covering...

That's one purchase that paid off! Years after winning a mistakenly identified painting at an auction, Sopranos star Federico Castelluccio discovered the artwork was worth millions. A painter himself, and an expert in Baroque European art, Castelluccio won the piece, which at the time of sale was incorrectly labeled as an 18th-century Italian holy painting of Saint Sebastian. Actually completed by the artist Guercino circa 1632-34, Castelluccio told The New York Post, "They had no idea who painted this." After having the piece authenticated by experts who used infrared reflectography, X-rays and chemical testing of the pigment, as well as...

Seriously: Do not read on if you haven't watched 'The Children' yet - or you only have yourself to blame!
"Once a cheater, always a cheater!" - Rachel Karen Green, September 25, 1997
We might live in the age of the TV anti-hero - with theft, deception and even murder often considered par for the course for our protagonists - but one sin that remains simply beyond the pale on television is cheating.
So while Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) was hit hard when his beloved Shae (Sibel Kekilli) betrayed him at his trial, the revelation that she'd been sleeping with his father Tywin (Charles Dance) - the lusty lion - was on a whole other level.
With her worst secret exposed in last night's Game of Thrones season four finale, Shae joins the dubious ranks...

Prepare to see a different side of the newest gangster to strike Atlantic City in Boardwalk Empire Episode 3.07, “Sunday’s Best.”
We’ve been waiting for the war to ramp up between Gyp (Bobby Cannavale) and Nucky and based on the early “Sunday Best” previews, Gyp will declare war tonight.
Although there are nearly ten different story lines going on at any given point on Boardwalk Empire, we’re looking forward to seeing what the future holds for Richard Harrow (Jack Huston). He’s been masterless ronin since Jimmy died. Still he’s had a few good scenes this season, including the scene when he got revenge for Jimmy by killing Manny (William Forsythe) in “Resolution.” And who can forget the great moment when he punked Mickey Doyle (Paul Sparks) for “shooting his mouth off” regarding Manny’s murder?
Margaret’s (Kelly Macdonald) story arc has been a bore for the majority of Season 3. However,...

Stars: Federico Castelluccio, Aaron Hendry, Dion Basco, Stana Katic, Peter Kwong, James Hong | Written by Berkeley Anderson | Directed by Matt Codd
When Syfy films are thought up they must sound good on paper, it’s just a shame that many of them never get to the screen in good shape. Come up with an adequate story and a dream that CGI will add in all the entertainment value then hope for the best, the question has to be will CGI dragons been good enough for Dragon Dynasty?
Marco and his small group of explorers from Europe are the first to visit China and look for chances to trade, although the emperor is happy to have them there some are not, namely Shang Sel who works against the wishes of the emperor and releases dragons to kill the European visitors. As Marco and his group return home they are...

A Full Fathom 5 production, Sibling: Marcus Miller the Orphan Killer is getting set to make the rounds at several film festivals in Los Angeles. Smmtok involves childhood trauma and the character Marcus Miller turning from innocent youth to cold-blooded killer. The first trailer is very graphic, very cutting edge, and very not safe for work. Several characters are taken care of by Marcus' favourite tool, the axe. Others endure his torturer, while Marcus searches for some type of murderous resolution to the death of his parents. The trailer is inside, but this is over eighteen material folks.
The synopsis for Sibling: Marcus Miller the Orphan Killer:
"The intense story of a brother and his younger sister who witness their parents' violent murder at a very young age. The girl, Audrey, is adopted by a loving single father, while her brother, Marcus, is left to languish in an orphanage where he is abused.

Bio Channel is set to premiere Celebrity Ghost Stories, a series where stars recount real-life encounters with the paranormal, on Oct. 3. The list of storytellers is already pretty compelling: David Carradine gives one of his last interviews to share how he married a widow and became frequently visited by the jealous spirit of his wife's ex. ("In a chilling twist of irony, the haunting takes place in his bedroom closet," the press release teases.) Then you've got John Waters, Rue McClanahan, Joan Rivers, Carrie Fisher, Greg Grunberg, Debi Mazar, Barry Williams, Illeana Douglas, Lili Taylor, Tom Arnold, Morgan Fairchild, Scott Baio, Gina Gershon, C. Thomas Howell, Eric Roberts, Justine Bateman, Carnie Wilson, Dee Snider, Teri Polo, Lisa Rinna, Elisabeth Rohm, Nia Long, Traci Lords, Sammy Hagar, Ernie Hudson, Jay Thomas, Ali Landry, John Salley, James Kyson Lee, Kelly Carlson, Federico Castelluccio, and Anson Williams (Happy Days' Potsie, who's most...

Sopranos Actor Sells Highest-earning Show Memorabilia
An actor on hit U.S. TV series The Sopranos has sold the most expensive piece of memorabilia related to the show - an original painting of the series' stars Tony and Carmela Soprano - for $175,000 (GBP87,500).
The Duke and Duchess of North Caldwell, painted by Federico Castelluccio who played Italian hit man Furio Giunta on The Sopranos, was sold to a Toronto, Canada oil executive earlier this month.
The painting portrays the crime boss couple - played by James Gandolfini and Edie Falco - staring intensely as they replicate a 15th century pose of the Duke and Duchess of Urbino.
Castelluccio says of his piece: "I had just finished the show's fourth season, where Furio and Carmela had this placid love affair that was never consummated. James Gandolfini has the same strong presence as the Duke, and I knew there was going to be a dividing line (between Tony and Carmela), and that my character was the cause of their split at the end of the season."
Art collector Keya Morgan, who brokered the deal, confirms: "It's an unbelievable painting, and not only is it a record for The Sopranos but it is a very high price for a living artist at his age. (Vincent) Van Gogh never accomplished anything like this. He died broke."...
