Wayne Caparas's grandfather, Martin Victor Doucett, was a gifted
violinist who played with musical luminaries Paul Whiteman
(The King of Jazz) and Arthur Fiedler of Boston Pops fame, until the
Great Depression, then WWII, then a family of four daughters finally forced him to
put down his violin to work as a bartender in Boston. From that
point, Doucett never picked up his violin again.
