- According to her autobiography, when she met Clark Gable at a dinner he spoke mainly of hunting and killing animals. She was so disgusted that she left the table.
- Accoding to her autobiography, she had a short relationship with Rory Calhoun that ended when she discovered Calhoun had a boyfriend. Relations between her and Calhoun eventually deteriorated to the point where he fired a gun at her.
