"Those who hear the three bells toll accept his invitation." Sony's Screen Gems has debuted the second, full-length trailer for the spooky Slender Man movie, based on the internet meme/myth about a tall, creepy, "slender" man that haunts kids. The whole Slender Man idea has already worked its way into pop culture and reality, and of course they have made a horror movie about it. Slender Man stars Joey King, Julia Goldani Telles, Annalise Basso, Jaz Sinclair, Javier Botet, Kevin Chapman, and Michael Reilly Burke. This looks like it has some creepy moments, but doesn't look like anything other than just another creepy horror movie about a weird creature/spirit that follows people around. Who knows if it's actually any good or just a horror they're dumping in late summer, after being delayed from its release in May this year. Here's the second official trailer for Sylvain White's Slender Man movie,...

Normally, I’d think that Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile would be how most conservative folk would describe the music I listen to – and it probably is – but that long-winded title has actually been claimed by the latest film in a decently long line to tell the story of Ted Bundy.
Remembered as being one of America’s most infamous serial killers, Bundy confessed to murdering 30 people in seven states between the years of 1974 and 1978. To date, such notable actors like Mark Harmon, Michael Reilly Burke, Billy Campbell, Cary Elwes, Corin Nemec and James Marsters have been tasked with playing him, and now, Zac Efron is the latest to join the club.
Being in stark contrast to his High School Musical days, we see this project as giving him a chance to flex his acting muscles. Plus, there has to be a certain amount of research and preparation one...

Well, the temps are dropping, and the leaves are changing. That can only mean one thing: better check on furnace. Or get the old rake out. Of course, that’s unless you’re a sports fan. Then, for the most part, it’s football all the time (just seems like it to the rest of us). And what better way to lure those fans away from their TVs and bars? Why Hollywood has been passing the ole’ pigskin for decades, even before sound (Harold Lloyd in The Freshman has quite a spectacular final game). There are comedies and dramas, the latter has mostly been the province of the true story. Jim Thorpe, All American (as was coach Knute Rockne) and Invincible to name a few. And, of course, there’s that much beloved crowd-pleaser Rudy. Well, all you gridiron movie lovers, here’s a new flick from the same fellow that penned that underdog story.

Diane Desmond caused a heap of trouble for Vincent Savino on "Vegas" last week. As you'll soon see, though, what happened in the previous episode may just be the tip of the iceberg.
In this clip from Tuesday's (Dec. 18) episode, "Estinto" -- which you can see exclusively on Zap2it -- D.A. Reynolds (Michael Reilly Burke) tips off Vincent (Michael Chiklis) that Diane (guest star Ivana Milicevic) may be an FBI informant. How else, Reynolds wonders, could she have gotten drug charges against her to go away?
Needless to say, Vincent is less than excited to hear the news. "What do you think she's doing in Vegas?" he asks. "Do the math," Reynolds replies. "She's here to get info -- take you down."
Incidentally, "estinto" is an Italian word that means "extinguished." It's usually used in music, meaning to play very, very quietly, but considering the context of this clip,...

If last week's episode of The Vampire Diaries was about Elena (Nina Dobrev) controlling her grief, this week focused on another powerful emotion: rage. Elena's transition from human to vampire has already been difficult and this episode adds another layer to her struggle with Rebekah (Claire Holt) acting as prime antagonist. Damon (Ian Somerholder) is off on a vampire hunter mission and gets help from an unlikely source that hints at a fun pairing.
So Elena thinks that it is a good idea to go back to school and while I can see her logic, it might not be the best environment for her; first there are memories of Alaric (Matt Davis) everywhere, second of all Rebekah is there and knows how to push all of Elena's buttons. Stefan (Paul Wesley) observes that all Rebekah is trying to do is "hate harder" and it's working as all Elena can think about is killing Rebekah.

Here we are, back again for an all-new season of The Vampire Diaries. Over a series of flashbacks, Stefan, Damon, Elena, Bonnie, Klaus and Jeremy fill us in on the history of Mystic Falls and its centuries as a haven for supernatural creatures, along with events from last season culminating in the tragic death of Alaric, Klaus's staking and Rebekah forcing Matt to drive off Wickery Bridge where Elena is left to drown. Elena has the last word: “And then there's me. I'm human. At least I was.” She opens her eyes with a gasp on a table in the morgue.
Now that is how you do a voiceover recap, Amy Pond.
Elena jolts awake in her room the next morning to find Stefan and Damon watching over her. Stefan explains about the accident and assures her that Matt is fine. She begins, “How did you...” and Damon, who's kept...

It's been a long summer since the big twist in The Vampire Diaries season three finale, but we are back in Mystic Falls to see the huge impact that this event has had. As expected there are some furrowed brows and the big theme of this premiere is choice; the choice Stefan (Paul Wesley) made when he saved Matt (Zach Roerig) first and the choice that Elena (Nina Dobrev) has to make between survival and death. Did the season premiere match up to the dramatic season finale?
Returning episodes are often table setters; they have to remind us what happened at the end of the previous year as well as propel the story forward. Killing Elena with vampire blood in her system is an incredibly bold move and while I think the process of her transition was handled well, it didn't have the wow factor that I have come to expect from this show.

This week’s episode of Vegas, “Money Plays” took a closer look at the fact that the show is about a changing city just as much as it is about cowboys and mobsters. It’s clear that Sheriff Ralph Lamb is no fan of the changes he can feel coming, as the city begins to morph from desert ranches to the Las Vegas we know today, complete with corruption.
The episode picks up about a week after the pilot. Ralph Lamb is now a full-fledged sheriff, yet being the honorable man that he is, still insists to pay for his breakfast at a local diner, and Savino is knee-deep in trying to clean up The Savoy, promptly kicking out any of his employees who knew about Bob Perrin’s skimming from the casino. And Perrin – well, Perrin is in the midst of trying to bargain out of the death sentence...

Castle (Nathan Fillion) watches Beckett (Stana Katic) doing boring paperwork and Castle comments on the worst tasting coffee he's ever had. How does he know what a monkey that's peed in battery acid tastes like. Beckett thinks he's hiding since his book is out today. A Db has been found dumped in a rug. Castle takes photos of the Cs without the other's knowledge. He comments, "every artist needs a muse." Beckett threatens to break his legs if he calls her his muse. She's so violent, well if it isn't the use of a gun, it's physical violence she has on her mind. Castle doesn't believe it was a robbery since he wouldn't hang around to wrap him in a rug. But he also knows who the Vic is, as usual, kept that to himself for a while. He's Councilman Jeff Horn ( from the bus ads) he's up for re-election.

This is a review of The Collector, directed by Marcus Dunstan and starring Josh Stewart, Michael Reilly Burke, Andrea Roth, Juan Fernández, Karley Scott Collins, Daniella Alonso and Haley Pullos. When a movie’s promotional material includes the information that it’s from the same writers “as Saw IV, V and VI”, you know that you’re not likely to be treated to subtlety. And thus it proves with The Collector, co-written by Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan (who also directed). Locksmith Arkin (Josh Stewart), in an effort to pay off some of his ex wife’s debts, decides to rob the home of a recent client. The client is a jeweller, and is supposedly away on holiday with his family. However, when Arkin breaks into the house, he soon realises that the property’s not as empty as he believed. The family is still home, imprisoned and tortured by...

I’ve been following the progress of The Collector for a long time now, and it’s good to see the film finally getting a release in UK cinemas (yes I know, it’s already out on DVD in the Us) and so here’s the official UK quad poster and trailer, courtesy of distributors Icon:
For handyman and ex-con, Arkin (Josh Stewart), a quiet home and a family on vacation is an “opportunity”. For inside the house lies a jeweller’s safe, and inside the safe is a rare gem – his only hope for repaying his ex-wife’s debt and keeping what’s left of his family intact. Unfortunately for Arkin, inside the house is also a box containing the latest specimen in a collection catalogued in blood, bone and tears - a human specimen packaged as “bait”.
While the trap may have already sprung shut on parents Michael...

It was recently revealed that ABC Family had decided to cancel Lincoln Heights after four seasons. What do the actors think about the news, that they won't be going back to film a fifth round of episodes? The answer might surprise you.
Lincoln Heights revolves around Officer Eddie Sutton (Russell Hornsby) and his family who move back to his old neighborhood. The rest in the cast include Erica Hubbard, Nikki Micheaux, Rhyon Brown, Mishon Ratliff, Robert Adamson, and Michael Reilly Burke.
Fans of the ABC Family series may be very upset that Lincoln Heights isn't continuing but some of the actors seem to be okay with it. While they're disappointed that their time on the series is over, they're mostly grateful to have been a part of it.
Adamson, who plays neighbor and boyfriend Charles Antoni on the show, wrote, "I...

It looks like the story of the Sutton clan has come to an end. ABC Family has quietly decided to cancel Lincoln Heights after four seasons.
Lincoln Heights tells the story of Officer Eddie Sutton (Russell Hornsby) who moves his family back to his old neighborhood. Other castmembers include Erica Hubbard, Nikki Micheaux, Rhyon Brown, Mishon Ratliff, Robert Adamson, and Michael Reilly Burke.
The TV show debuted on January 8, 2007 and the first season was successful enough to warrant a renewal by March. At that point, it was one of the cable channel's higher performers in the key demographics.
While announcing that the second season would kick off in September 2007, ABC Family President Paul Lee said, "We really think we have something unique here... The fact that it's an African American family drama alone separates it from the...

The players: Director: Marcus Dunstan, Writers: Patrick Melton, Marcus Dunstan, Cast: Josh Stewart, Madeline Zima, Michael Reilly Burke, Andrea Roth, Juan Fernandez
Facts of interest: Dunstan and Melton also wrote the last three "Saw" films.
The plot: A handyman breaks into ah home only to realize he's not the only intruder.
Our thoughts: Fancy yet another round of totally brainless big-screen violence lacking suspense and innovation? If so, then I suggest you check out Marcus Dunstan’s latest horror flick “The Collector,” an ultra-monotonous experience that stole 88 minutes of my life but failed to offer me any thrills or surprises.

In spite of its ties to the Saw franchise, The Collector manages to, at points, rise above its torture porn roots and deliver a mostly solid 85 minutes of horror, suspense, action and, for the most part, good performances. The film, written by Saw IV, V and VI scribes Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton and directed by Dunstan, follows the same basic formula of the Saw films where a devious and virtually unstoppable villain, in this case The Collector instead of Saw’s Jigsaw, devises many ingenious, outlandish and over-the-top ways to kill the various members of the cast. Taken as only that, the film would most likely be relegated to obscurity very soon after watching it.
The conceit that saves The Collector from being regarded as just another Saw knockoff is the fact that the hero, capability played by Josh Stewart, is actually a criminal who breaks into a house...

It's another edition of the Reject Report and we have some big wide releases on tap this weekend. The two widest releases are the family adventure Aliiens in the Attic and the Judd Apatow laughfest Funny People, starring Adam Sandler.and Seth Rogen. And you were beginning to think we might get through a summer without seeing an Adam Sandler movie, or a Judd Apatow movie? Fat hope. If it's summer, it's a safe bet you'll see a Sandler or Apatow movie. I'll bet you didn't expect to see Sandler actually in an Apatow movie, though. Anyway, they're back again for more laughs. We'll begin, though, with The Collector, a horror flick which is in just over 1,300 theaters and stars Madeline Zima ("Californication"), Andrea Roth, Daniella Alonso,Robert Wisdom, Michael Reilly Burke, and last but not least, Josh Stewart as a burglar who find that someone else had already taken his intended victims hostage and riddled the...

The torture never stops.
"The Collector"
Photo: Sony Pictures
To say that "The Collector" is a torture-porn movie of a particularly vile and hateful sort is already to waste more words than the picture merits. Still, gore fans should be aware that this is not an especially scary film in any but the most primitive big-boo sense. It's a monotonous procession of gouged eyes, crushed hands, snapped necks, ripped guts, barbed-wire bindings, fish-hook torments and nail-board impalings. There's also a cat that loses its tail to a slammed window, and a little girl who's terrorized in the most deplorable ways. The film's real subject, though, is human agony, which it celebrates with a leering sadism. I'd like to think that even the hard-core gore audience won't sit still for this tedious mess (where's Eli Roth when you really need him?), but I guess we'll see.
