A massive trove of live performances from the late-Nineties/early-Aughts glory days of music television has finally made it to the streaming era, with Paramount+ uploading old episodes of MTV Unplugged, CMT Crossroads, and VH1 Storytellers.

As Billboard notes, these collections aren’t entirely comprehensive, with random episodes and full seasons missing here and there for all three programs. Nevertheless, there’s still a deep assortment of classic performances to dig through, including most of the episodes that appeared on Rolling Stone’s list of the 15 Best Episodes of MTV Unplugged.

Paramount+ has opened up its vault of classic MTV Unplugged episodes. Over 50 episodes of the live performance series have been added to the streamer, alongside dozens more episodes of VH1 Storytellers and CMT Crossroads.

According to a press release, many of the episodes “haven’t been available in 20+ years.” Coming from Seasons 1-8 and 10-13, the MTV Unplugged episodes include iconic performances from Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Paul McCartney, Oasis, R.E.M., Alanis Morissette, Alice in Chains, and Bob Dylan.

In a new Rolling Stone interview promoting her latest song “The Lighthouse” (which she performed on Saturday Night Live earlier this month – just four blocks from the home of Stereophonic), Nicks was asked whether she had seen the play, which, among other storylines, chronicles the crumbling of a relationship between a Stevie-like singer and a Lindsey-like guitarist.

In an in-depth interview with Rolling Stone published Thursday, the music icon reflected on the ending of the Prime series in which Sam Claflin’s Billy Dunne reunites with Riley Keough’s Daisy after encouragement from his wife to give his former bandmate a call after she passes away.

Though the series’ ending was left for the audience to debate on what truly happens and offered a feeling of possibility, Nicks ponders what could be if the show should ever have another season.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Nicks shared that speaking to her former Fleetwood Mac bandmate and ex-boyfriend during McVie’s celebration of life for a few minutes was as much as she could stand.

Nicks revealed the event was held at Nobu, and added that it felt like McVie was there because there was a “crazy” hurricane that “tore down” the entire deck. “The only time I’ve spoken to Lindsey was there, for about three minutes,” she said.

Singer-songwriters Andrew Bird and Madison Cunningham have joined forces for Cunningham Bird, a covers album that recreates Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham’s 1973 record Buckingham Nicks in its entirety.

The 2024 Netflix music documentary The Greatest Night in Pop features behind-the-scenes footage and details of the historic "We Are The World" song's creation. Released back in 1985, "We Are The World" brought together the biggest names in the music industry from all types of genres, including pop, country, folk, rock, and more. The song was assembled by producers Quincy Jones and Michael Omartian and was originated by musician and activist Harry Belafonte and manager Ken Kragen.

The Greatest Night in Pop features new present-day interviews from Lionel Richie, who was a songwriter on "We Are The World" along with pop star Michael Jackson. Richie and Jackson had become acquaintances while their immensely successful music careers were just taking off as the lead singers of The Commodores and The Jackson Five, respectively. "We Are The World" remains to be one of the best-selling songs of all time, selling over 20 million physical copies during the mid-1980s.

The”Joyride” superstar just released a new Spotify exclusive single on Tuesday (October 15), a cover of Lindsey Buckingham‘s “Holiday Road.”

Fifty-one years after Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham first graced the stage at the Troubadour in West Hollywood, Andrew Bird and Madison Cunningham regaled a sold-out crowd with their homage to Buckingham Nicks, a studio album released by the duo prior to the artists joining the legendary band Fleetwood Mac. The September 30 show “Cunningham Bird do Buckingham Nicks,” was the first time many in the audience were able to hear these songs as the original album is out-of-print.

Madison took to the stage veiled in a white chiffon caftan and bangs reminiscent of the bohemian queen herself – Stevie Nicks, while Andrew maintained his folksy coolness. They were supported by drummer, Griffin Goldsmith, and keyboardist, Mike Viola, who’s also the producer of the forthcoming album Cunningham Bird, set to release on October 18.

A former sound engineer who coauthored a 2012 memoir about his days working on the Fleetwood Mac album Rumours has filed a lawsuit, along with his coauthor of the book Making Rumours, against the makers of Broadway’s smash hit play Stereophonic, alleging that playwright David Adjmi relied on portions of Making Rumours in the creation of the similarly themed Broadway play.

Stereophonic, the suit states, “copies the heart and soul of Making Rumours, and is substantially similar.”

Stereophonic is perhaps best described as a roman a clef of Fleetwood Mac and the mid-’70s making of what would be their 1977 masterpiece Rumours. The play, which does not use the band members’ names or songs, fashions its characters and situations in ways that align closely to Mac’s classic line-up of Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Christine McVie, Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham. Andrew Bird and Madison Cunningham have joined forces for a top-to-bottom cover of Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks’ 1973 album Buckingham Nicks. Cleverly titled Cunningham Bird, the project is due out October 18th via Loma Vista Recordings and Verve Forecast. To preview it, the duo have shared two of the record’s songs: “Crying in the Night” and “Crystal.” Stream both covers below.

Buckingham Nicks was the first and only record to come solely from (you guessed it) Buckingham and Nicks, as they both joined Fleetwood Mac in the following year. Today, the album still has yet to hit most streaming services and remains out of print physically, which Bird and Cunningham cite as one of the reasons they became interested in it.
