As one of the most popular pros in DWTS history, Maksim Chmerkovskiy knows a bit or two about the chemistry of making a partnership work on the dance floor. He danced alongside 16 female celebrities throughout his career on the ABC series. However, even the most innocent dances could appear flirtatious. Chmerkovskiy explains why DWTS contestants catch feelings for their pros: “sexual energy.”

During an appearance on former DWTS pro Cheryl Burke‘s podcast, Sex, Lies, and Spray Tans, Chmerkovskiy discussed why contestants sometimes fall for their pros. “That type of sexual energy, because they walk in and you’re standing there with Sasha [Farber] with his chest open. Val [Chmerkovskiy] with his shirt off and abs,...

Among the 16 contestants that competed on the second season of Fox’s “The Masked Singer” were two “Cheetah Girls”: Adrienne Bailon and Raven-Symoné. But due to the nature of the kooky singing competition, which requires its contestants to peform in head-to-toe costumes until they are eliminated — or win the whole thing — viewers at home didn’t know that both of those “Cheetah” sisters were part of Season 2 until Wednesday night’s finale. And neither did they.
Bailon wasn’t unmasked as The Flamingo until the two-hour episode, during which she came in third-place behind No. 2 contestant Chris Daughtry (The Rottweiler) and winner Wayne Brady (The Fox). However, Raven was revealed to be The Black Widow contestant more than a month ago.

Juan Pablo Di Pace and Cheryl Burke think they deserved to be in the “Dancing with the Stars” final and they’re not afraid to say so.
“You know what, I feel like we did,” Burke tells “Entertainment Tonight” (watch above).
“I think we did,” Di Pace concurs. “I mean, we wanted to go to the finals, at least the finals.”
The pair was shockingly axed, along with Joe “Grocery Store Joe” Amabile and Jenna Johnson, on Monday’s semifinal, during which they earned two perfect scores. Di Pace, in fact, has the most perfect scores this season, with five, and seemed like a lock for the final and maybe even the win.
But those 30s may have been a double-edged sword, Burke thinks, leading fans to become complacent. “Maybe they said, ‘You got perfect scores every week, so maybe we don’t vote,'” she says. “That’s what...

Alexis Ren and Alan Bersten‘s “Dancing with the Stars” showmance will literally be just for show: 63 percent of our readers believe it will end as soon as Season 27 wraps up in two weeks. Shocking, we know.
Now we doubt so many of you are cynical about love, but it is hard to believe in a relationship that feels utterly contrived and downright cringe-worthy, from the staged proclamations of “feelings” to an on-camera kiss. If I fell for someone on a non-dating TV show and were serious about it, I would not agree to film our kiss for millions of people to see. Just saying. How many takes do you think they had to do? “A little less tongue this time, guys. This is a family show.” “Alan, hold her head two degrees to the left. No, our left.”

The slaughtering of female contestants on “Dancing with the Stars” this season continued on Monday, but it wasn’t Mary Lou Retton or Alexis Ren — the remaining two women who were in the bottom five the first week — who went home like we had feared. Instead, it was Tinashe, one of the best dancers and top scorers this season, and her partner Brandon Armstrong who got the boot, giving us our first shocking elimination of the season. How did this happen? Besides, you know, Bachelor Nation. Let’s break it down.
1. Tinashe was getting, like, no votes
This seems obvious, but it must be said. Based on skill alone and her scores — she’s tied with the highest average of the season, 25.6 — Tinashe was a contender for the Mirrorball trophy. But fan votes are the other half of the “Dancing” equation, and she had to have been at or near...

Juan Pablo Di Pace and Cheryl Burke received the first perfect score of the season on “Dancing with the Stars” for their sizzling samba. Is he the favorite to win now? Hard to say. There’s still lots of weeks of dancing left, and there are a bunch of formidable contenders, like DeMarcus Ware, Tinashe and Milo Manheim. Plus, getting the first perfect score of the season isn’t a ticket to the Mirrorball trophy.
In the last 26 seasons, only 11 couples who earned the first perfect score of the season — a 30 or a 40, depending on the judging panel — went on to win the whole show. Five of them ended up in second place, and there were a few shocking eliminations in there, specifically Sabrina Bryan, who nabbed the first 30 twice, in Season 5 and the all-stars outing, only to be eliminated early — and five years to the day exactly.

It's finally here, dance fans! It's the big blowout 10th anniversary celebration of "Dancing with the Stars," as they remind us of some of the wild, crazy, awkward, painful, and stellar moments of the past 20 seasons. There's a lot jam packed into this special, as past contestants and winners return to share in the fun.
During resident-opening-number-choreographer Mandy Moore's exciting first group routine, lots of stars return, hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews fly in on a giant "10," and the four judges, Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, Len Goodman, and Julianne Hough, make their grand entrance. Lots of cutaways to the audience show many other past stars who have returned but are apparently not dancing tonight, like Sabrina Bryan, who we're reminded of also by last night's shocking elimination. Like Willow last night, Sabrina was a frontrunner in both of her seasons (5 and All-Star season 15), but she was eliminated in week 6 both times.

Dylan Leiner and Martin Marquet invited me to Lafest, at Home Depot Center but I could not go. Michael Donaldson went though and his team played pretty well I hear. Dylan and Martin started it 3 years ago in NY and teamed with Tribeca. This year they took the event to L.A and are co-hosting with the Mia Hamm Foundation.
Lafest (Los Angeles Film & Entertainment Soccer Tournament) kicked off their first annual entertainment industry soccer event in La. The all-day event featured a 5v5 entertainment industry soccer tournament, a youth soccer showcase and tournament and culminated with the 5th Annual Mia Hamm & Nomar Garciaparra Celebrity Soccer Challenge. In addition to Soccer Hall of Famer and former Us Women's National Soccer Team Captain Mia Hamm, Survivor: Africa Winner and Grassroot Soccer Co-Founder Ethan Zohn and former Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodger great Nomar Garciaparra, the event welcomed celebrity participants from the entertainment and sports worlds.

Proceeds supported the Mia Hamm Foundation and Grassroot Soccer

Dancing With the Stars hasn't been that great to Disney princesses over the years (Anyone remember Sabrina Bryan?), but maybe Zendaya will buck the trend. The Shake It Up star topped the leaderboard yet again this week, the 16-year-old performing a wise-beyond-her-years jive with partner Val Chmerkovskiy—who just may become the first Chmerkovskiy to win this whole thing. You'll be back next week, you were fantastic." She certainly should be. But Bruno also...

Peta Murgatroyd is a former Dancing with the Stars champion, winning the coveted mirror-ball trophy in season 14 – only her second season on the series – with Donald Driver. The Australia native is blogging for People.com about competing with Gilles Marini in the current all-star season.
It's week eight and we've got one more week until the semi-finals. This is when everyone really starts to get aches and pains and just gets lethargic.
Occasionally I'll have a glass of wine when I get home at night, but usually to unwind, I hop straight into bed. I'm exhausted. There's no time for going out and partying.

Apolo Anton Ohno has admitted that he thinks he could make it to the finals on Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars. Ohno landed a perfect score of 30 out of 30 for his Viennese Waltz in last week's show, though he and his partner Karina Smirnoff found themselves in the bottom two alongside eliminees Sabrina Bryan and Louis van Amstel. However, Ohno has now said in a blog for People that he is feeling confident about his future on the season. "I told Karina that night that no matter what happens, if we make it to the following week, let's take every single dance for the rest of the competition and treat it like it's our very last of the whole season," he said. "I know that if I'm able to do (more)...

Apolo Ohno is a former Dancing with the Stars champion, winning the coveted mirror-ball trophy in season 4 with Julianne Hough. The ice-skating Olympian will now be blogging for People.com about competing with Karina Smirnoff in the all-star season. I was nervous during Tuesday's elimination. I'm standing there next to Sabrina [Bryan], thinking about how she also had a perfect score and she's the overall highest scorer. She's just been so incredible. You never know who is going to go home. When Sabrina was eliminated, it was tough. No one really knows what to say, and especially to someone who is such an incredible dancer.
