A moody new acoustic release by an East Nashville staple, a smoldering torch song from a rockabilly ingenue and a personal love song from a rising pop-country artist make up the tracks you must hear this week.
Bob Lewis, “All My Sins”
With guests ranging from Aaron Lee Tasjan to Jamie Kent, songwriter Bob Lewis’s new album End of an Error feels like a lo-fi love letter postmarked from somewhere deep within the East Nashville Americana underground. He gets pensive with the acoustic “All My Sins,” where he traces...

Vincent admits he's operating within a machine and Eileen shoots her movie on a lively The Deuce.
This The Deuce review contains spoilers.
The Deuce Season 2 Episode 6
“Red Hot” looks like one hell of a movie.
The Deuce has a way of making idealists look like fools. Vincent thought he could take the mob’s money and still be a good guy, yet here he is tearfully confessing the details of his mob arrangement to Abby and all but begging her to take the money from the parlors for her community efforts.
Abby, in turn, at first refuses the money but then seemingly not even a full day later gives the money to Dorothy so she can get a poor girl who has reached her limit off the streets. Bobby thought he could be arrested on television without suffering any repercussions - now his kid has been...

There’s a point in recent Lucero shows when frontman Ben Nichols pulls back from his anthems of last calls and heartbreaks and leads the band in “Hello, My Name Is Izzy,” a lighthearted country shuffle penned for his two-year-old daughter. Sometimes she even comes onstage, earmuffs on, to dance.
That moment held a special joy for Nichols at the band’s annual Lucero Family Block Party in Memphis in April, where they celebrated their 20th anniversary over two days with support from friends like Turnpike Troubadours and John Moreland.

HBO is sharing all kinds of news today from the TCAs.
Now we're hearing from The Deuce and getting our first word that, yes, James Franco is still a part of the series after being accused of less than savory behavior shortly after he won his Globe Award for his performance in The Disaster Artist.
Chronicling the rise of pornography and the multibillion-dollar industry’s transformation of American culture, the critically acclaimed drama series The Deuce, created by George Pelecanos and David Simon, returns for its nine-episode second season Sunday, Sept. 9 (10/9c), exclusively on HBO.
Resuming five years after the culmination of the first season, The Deuce returns to the world of 1977, capturing the Times Square area of midtown New York at its most garish and volatile.
The series is also available on HBO Now, HBO Go, HBO On Demand and affiliate portals.

To mark the release of The Deuce on 12th February, we’ve been given 3 copies to give away on DVD.
Boasting a fine ensemble cast and executive produced by David Simon, George Pelecanos, Nina K. Noble and James Franco, The Deuce chronicles the rise of the porn industry that began in New York City in 1971-72, driven by the gradual legalization of porn and a politically motivated effort to “clean up” Times Square. Seizing the chance to cash in on the nascent porn business are a vivid assortment of characters, including: Vincent Martino (James Franco), a bartender with vision and connections; Frankie Martino (Franco again), Vincent’s identical twin, a dangerously freewheeling counterpart to his entrepreneurial brother; Candy (Maggie Gyllenhaal), a self-made, on-the-street sex worker eying a new career in porn filmmaking; pimps C.C. (Gary Carr) and Larry Brown (Gbenga Akinnagbe); young prostitutes Darlene (Dominique Fishback) and...
